Heidelberg Restaurant

We decided to try the Heidelberg again after trying the new German restaurant in town. I didn't remember it being so small inside but it was very cozy. Our server Misty seated us quickly. We looked at the menu for a while when Misty returned and showed us pictures of the food and explained the intricacies of the different styles of preparation. The wife and I decided on the pork schnitzel,mine the Bavarian style. Misty was a great server and was a good sport when I questioned certain things. The food was great and reasonably priced. The menu has a good variety of food from dinners to apps. We plan on returning for some apps and a beer. Good job to all. Try the new German restaurant up the road. You'll be back to The Heidelberg. Not the "Hydelberg".

This was first visit. Took my son for his birthday.
Atmosphere a little rustic, but the weather was beautiful so we enjoyed the outdoor patio. The waitress was animated and energetic and did a great job serving us. The food! I'm not a connoisseur of German food, but what we had was just great, with no exception. We'll definitely be going back.

First time here but not the last. We just had a fantastic dinner at the Heidelberg Restaurant. Heather was wonderful and showed us dinner options on the iPad which was very helpful. I'm a visual person, so seeing the entrees really helped since I'm not familiar with German dishes. The staff was very friendly and you can definitely see that people are not only drawn to the food, but also to the comforting atmosphere. We all enjoyed it, especially sampling the different beers. We highly recommend the Heidelberg!
****And don't forget the Dessert!! OMG. 😋

I took my dog here to the outdoor seating area in the patio. I had the beef liver and bacon with a potato pancake and a pork schnitzel appetizer. Everything was delicious. Would recommend.

Brought guests from MN to this German restaurant in the mountains, they LOVED it! The dill potato soup was refreshing with a small kick, yummy all the wursts were lip licking and the portions were generous. Of course the octoberfest was a perfect compliment! We will be back when in NY!

Excellent food, and I mean excellent! Very chill environment with ample and comfortable inside and outside seating as well. Service is top notch and personable. I recommend the American potato salad and pastrami sandwich.

*Edit to add they have gluten free meat and salad options according to the owners response to my post, just no gluten free bread alternatives. I appreciate the owner responding to clear that up and I understand it was definitely busy*

I do not want to wreck the restaurant's reviews, they seme to have a very positive experience for most, hence the high review. I did not eat here. We stopped to try it out due to someone else leaving a review stating "has some gluten free options" however this is not the case. They stated their gluten free options were some sides were gluten free such as the red cabbage, and they could make a burger with no bun.
I want those that need gluten free options to be aware of this because this is not "gluten free options", this is eat a burger with a fork and knife off of your plate because this is all they have..
I also recommend calling ahead to reserve a table, they didn't have enough inside tables when we stopped on a Wednesday night either. They had open outside tables but it was humid and gross out and they didn't have options for me anyway.

Went for the first time and it was excellent. Small restaurant but very cozy and the ambience made us feel like our trips to Europe. We had the sauerbraten and the Bavarian schnitzel and they were one of the best we've had. We try to hit most the German style places when traveling and this was one of our top. We will be back next time in town.

Great service, always happily interacting with customers. Never had a dish that was bad weather eat in or take out. Like the new feature of the photo menu, most people eat with there eyes. It great to be able to see a picture of the dish before ordering. I think the price to food ratio is about average to slightly above average (with the portion being large and price low) compared to other restaurants in the area.

We like to dine outside in the biergarten. Service is very good. The schnitzel (any of them) is excellent. The beer with soft prezel aren't bad either.

We finally had the opportunity to experience the Heidelberg...we ordered and ate every bite of German Mac and Cheese with Spatzle German Noodles, Loaded German Fries, Bavarian Pork Schnitzel and a Bavarian Chicken Schnitzel. Their food is delicious and we will be repeat customers with recommendations to all!

W O W. I’ve only been here two times and the food both times have been outstanding! The authenticity of the building is just so nice and it feels like your in a real German Tavern. The potato pancakes and the Schnitzel were absolutely amazing. Hope to be coming here a lot more!

Great, cozy atmosphere with delicious authentic German food as well as American cuisine. Love the dill pickle soup, curry wurst, schnitzels, spaetzel and they have great burgers!

Delicious meal- start to finish!! Ordered the loaded German fries as an appetizer, hadn't tried them before, very unique and so good! The chicken schnitzel was amazing! And I had the cream puff dessert- topped off the whole meal! The waitstaff is always so kind and knowledgeable. Great place!

Cozy German restaurant with authentic German dishes and house roasted deli meats. Plus German beers on tap. The owner is also super knowledgeable about German cuisine and culture. Definitely stop by when you're in the Lake George area.

The food and beer are always amazing. The music selection is great. Hint: orderbthe cream puff as they run out early!

What a welcoming atmosphere, with delicious food. The chicken schnitzel has been my favorite so far. But they also have such a great variety of appetizers. The colossal pretzel was a hit too. Staff were not only friendly, but very knowledgeable of the menu. A Queensbury staple for German food!

This place seems like it will always be packed for dinner, so try to make a reservation to be safe! The food is wonderful, packed with traditional flavors and varied textures to keep things interesting.
