Five O Four Kitchen

One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The service was fantastic and the food is beyond anything I expected. Everything we ordered was unique and crafted to perfection. The drinks were phenomenal as well. Truly one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had with a wonderful friendly staff as well.

What a treat for our taste buds!! My husband and I had an amazing dinner. We highly recommend eating here. The portions are smaller, but the flavors are HUGE. We shared an appetizer and a salad and both got our own entree. We walked away feeling full with no leftovers to bring home. The desserts looked amazing so we will be back soon just to get dessert as we were too full.

This restaurant is fantastic and I’m sure will become a favorite among locals. The drinks are very creative and the food menu feels like an international kitchen with tons of unique flavors. Chef Christian is incredibly talented with his creativity shining through in every dish. Everything was meticulously plated and beautiful! We were treated to a couple off menu items but would highly recommend the octopus tostada, tetela and wagyu to name a few dishes. This spot is definitely worth checking out and I plan on coming back soon.

Finally, a new amazing restaurant in Glen Ellyn. I had such a wonderful experience last week. The decor has such a welcoming and warm feeling that draws you in. A full cocktail list along with local brews to start your meal. All craft cocktails are well made and poured right. The service is top tier. Everyone there knew the menu very well and made special recommendations on the specials and pairings. The food list is stacked with options for all preferences. I was able to meet chef Christian and talk to him abiut the options. He is originally from Ecuador and brought all sorts of Inspiration with him when setting the menu. I will most definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu options. Amazing meal, amazing service.

Had brunch on a Sunday here with a friend and enjoyed the cream of chicken soup (so flavorful)! My friend and I shared the Mediterranean wrap and the stuffed French toast! The wrap was great but the French toast was the winner of the meal!! Will definitely be back! The place is super cute and friendly! A great addition to GE!

This is a recently opened restaurant (October 2023) and we are very glad we gave it a try. The food was fantastic -- all three of us were delighted with our meals. We went there for breakfast early on a Sunday morning. The menu has a good variety of familiar dishes as well as unique recipes. I had a California omelet that was unique in that it had brussels sprouts. It was delicious. My wife had a waffle with fruit and ricotta, and she loved it. Our friend had eggs Benedict. Portions are generous. Service was friendly and attentive. The breakfast potatoes are delicious -- I could make a meal out of them alone. This is not a breakfast diner nor greasy spoon sort of restaurant; the food is elevated and gourmet and has pricing to match (it's not inexpensive). But, for the price, they delivered and I'll definitely be back.

I hesitate to review for fear I'll never get in here again.

This is a hidden gem in Glen Ellyn! The cocktails were hand made and so fresh. The food was extremely flavorful and delicious! 5 stars for the presentation as well! The chef and staff were beyond amazing! We cannot wait to go back!

This simple and quaint restaurant provides an excellent meal. The dishes were all truly one of a kind. I went with two friends. We shared 6 dishes (appetizers, small plates, a salad, and a main dish) all were delicious. We left happy and full, but not uncomfortable. The staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. I will be recommending to family and friends with hopes of coming back soon. I wish this restaurant and their owners much success!

I had no idea a new restaurant had moved in here! I came by to have breakfast with my parents today and am really excited that such a fun breakfast spot has opened in downtown GE! The staff is amazingly friendly- from Shelley to the server Chloe and hostess and even the busboy. They have really done a lot with a small space. The decorations are lovely and the dining area feels light and open- once Crescent clears up they can open the french doors which will be lovely. Anyone who remembers some of the dark and cramped restaurants who have previously occupied this location will be amazed with what Five 0 Four has done with the room! The menu is a different spin on breakfast. We all ordered from the more decadent pancake/waffle/French toast side of the menu, but there are skillets, Benedicts and quite a few other options (duck!). Additionally, Shelley told us they will be opening for dinner some time in September. The food was outstanding. I had "churro waffles" (coated in cinnamon sugar with tres leche dipping sauce and homemade coffee infused whipped cream) my mom got the stuffed French toast (with a lemon sauce on top, strawberry cream cheese in the middle covered with berries) and my dad had the granola-berry pancakes. Shelley brought us samples of the Five 0 Four limeade (which I will order next time because WOW) and a cold brewed ice tea (which reminds me of hibiscus iced tea without the dryness I associate with hibiscus). Most of the food is organic and made from scratch. It's more expensive than a diner, but you can get an entree and coffee for $20 a person. Five 0 Four Kitchen is absolutely fantastic and a must-try for anyone who adores breakfast.

The dining room is decorated with elegant furniture and artwork. The restaurant has a sophisticated atmosphere, making it a perfect place for a special occasion. We had the 7 course chef's tasting, so I can't comment on the regular menu. It is for restaurants like this that we need an extra star. You can have a stellar breakfast place or even a hot dog stand, but a chef like this who curates ingredients and plans out perfectly balanced plates deserve a completely different category. Every microgreen, every sauce is meticulous. Presentation was beautiful. Every wine pairing was on point. When you can trust someone to bring out their best in every course, you've found something special.

You're not going to recognize every ingredient and innovative combination, but your taste buds will thank you.

The staff is attentive and friendly, adding to the festive atmosphere. It can get loud, but maybe it's because we were a group of 13 people!

Had an amazing first experience here with my family last week. Came in for an early dinner. Exceptional friendly service, free appetizer hand delivered by the talented chef himself, and an overall tasty affordable Michelin star like experience. The brussel sprout appetizer and ravioli is to die for! Also try the hibiscus margarita! Best restaurant downtown Glen Ellyn. Add it to the top of your list!

Seeking out new and unique restaurants in the burbs is a bit of a hobby of mine. This place did not disappoint! We came during Glen Ellyn Restaurant Week and did the prefix menu which included 5 courses. The food was incredible! Such unexpected flavor combinations and absolutely stunning presentations (table side ice cream freezing? yes please!). The watermelon gazpacho with blue fin tuna was a favorite but everything was so delicious including the cocktails. Service was excellent and everyone was very friendly. The chef came out and talked to us after our meal. It’s very clear he has a lot of passion for cooking and enhancing simple foods with complex flavors. I can’t wait to come back to try one of their tequila dinners.

504 Kitchen had some of the best food I have had in a restaurant in years.

My wife and I are fortunate enough to eat at the best restaurants in Chicago - you name it, we've been there, top to bottom from Alinea (considered by most the top, but I made my review) to the bottom of the barrel. We plan vacations around food, so we know good meals when we have them.

Every dish at 504 was spectacular. Every dish had a unique fresh taste and flavor; an exceptional deviation from the ordinary.

We had a sampling of appetizers, including a special, and we just shared each dish.

We also had a dessert each, and dessert cocktails.

To tell you the details of each would be enticingly rude - they have a seasonal menu that changes in 10 days.

What I can tell you is the unique mix and balance of flavors in each dish was amazing.

The cocktail menu was just as elevated as the dinner menu - an extensive offering of intriguing and curious options, each of those which we ordered was fantastically decorated.

Glen Ellyn needed a food experience like this. There are great staples here, but this is a unique fusion of tastes and flavors that I have never had anywhere else.

It is rare for me to have more compliments than complaints at any restaurant - Michelin stars included - and this was epic.

The service was excellent, the chef came out to say hello, and we are going back in a few days - it was that good.

I can't encourage you enough to grab a meal here while you can, because when word gets out about this place, it'll be months before you can have a reservation.

In case you're wondering if this is a real review, and I am affiliated with the restaurant - i / we are not. We were simply looking around for a place to eat tonight, and when we came across 504, we both agreed we should give it a shot because we haven't been there yet and it is new in GE.

Holy cow we were blown away and we are so happy this is so close.

My only regret is not going sooner.

Good news is - I get to go back in a few days. Reservation already made.

This restaurant made us feel like we were back in the city, pre-kids! 🥰 Walked in and decor was on point. Service, food and overall experience only skyrocketed from there. The food- oh my gosh! We shared the mushroom crepes and Mexico City platter and were blown away by both. Our waitress was such a delight. Can’t recommend this spot more!

Wow, what a delightful restaurant to have stumbled upon. Surprisingly elevated dishes at a very reasonable price point. Multinational flavors and ingredients are present in most every menu item, and are executed well. Strongly recommend the seafood dishes here--Octopus, tuna, ceviche, etc--All excellent. Terrific cocktails, in line with the quality Common Good used to produce back in the day. Can't wait to visit again!

Google the awards they have won recently. All very well deserved. I think there are new owners as of 2024 but they kept the name. Beautiful presentation on everything. Someone should figure out where he worked beforehand.
