Taqueria Monterrey

Service was great, the food was great and the prices are perfect for my budget. I love a family owned atmosphere, so that's a big plus. I'm your new regular customer! 5 tacos with fajita beef, cilantro, and cheese on corn tortillas! Yum overload!

One of the very first taco spots I ever tried years ago. The food is always fresh and the staff is super friendly! 👌 definitely a must try!

I ordered a small shrimp cocktail today and it was the best shrimp cocktail I’ve had in all of Denton I took it to go so it was the size of a medium drink filled with a lot of shrimp and avocado . The sauce was perfect !!! Definitely coming back!!

I’ve seen someone else review on the medium-waiting time but just wanted to say this is not a fast food restaurant. The food is completely fresh made so if keep that in mind :) you get what you pay and wait for and good quality takes time.

Old review: I ordered on the phone and all directions were followed correctly. Went to pick it up, great efficient and friendly staff. It’s a pretty location. I ordered cactus gorditas. (I love the meatless options!) The food was so tasty, everyone in Denton should try this place at least once in their lifetime.
The gorditas were so soaked in the sauce from the cactus stew, it was the only thing I could taste. I wish I would have been able to eat the Gordita with my hands as it’s supposed to or taste the beans and lettuce in it.
I will definitely give this place a second try, hopefully our food won’t be soaked then ;)
I would recommend coming to this place as they have great prices and a good selection of Mexican antojitos :)

honestly havw never had a complaint other than the chicken being a little dry, but my world changed when i tried their Green sauce, it was the perfect spice it tastes like heaven, best taco spot ive tried

Awesome place for some Mexican food!! You don't want to pass this place if your hungry. The people who work there are very nice. The place is clean.

I was at QT getting gas & I was starving trying to decide if anything what to get to eat at QT.... and then I noticed this YUMMY place. I've always driven by but never stopped - so glad I did and I'll be back. The asada tacos are freaking amazing!! I had gotten my order to go but the food smelled so good I had to sit down and take a quick bite!!! If your in the mood for authentic Mexican food this is your place!!

This is such a great little place! They have amazing classic breakfasts, and we recently discovered how tasty their pozole is! Super flavorful, full of hominy with fresh toppings. I’m always on the lookout for a pozole that compares to my mom’s, and this one comes pretty darn close! Also, the staff is so sweet and friendly! Plus they have warm churros for dessert.

Outstanding tacos but the gorditas are a must try. The service was very friendly and very convenient online ordering system.

It’s hard to find a good authentic Mexican restaurant after living in Mexico. But I sure was amazed when I decided to give this a try while taking care of my mother in Denton. The best Gorditas I’ve had since I lived in the ranch!! The rice was so soft and perfect flavors. The elote was amazing like a little place in Kansas I frequent! I couldn’t ask for more!!

Google brought me to this gem of a place searching for Mexican Food right off of IH35. Fantastic food. Nice atmosphere. If you like Monterrey style mexican food, this is the place. Everything screamed Monterrey! I used to go to Monterrey a lot as a child and the selection of food and candies brought back a lot of memories. They even had "Bubu lubu" and "Boing"! If you've never had either of those, you haven't lived. Lol.

I had pozole... and it was awesome. My buddy had menudo and, him being from Monterrey, said it was awesome. Even noticed it didn't have hominy, "like the way it's made back home."

I don't usually make reviews this long, but this place is very deserving of it.

We came in for lunch and hit the timing just right. The place filled up soon after we sat down. My enchiladas were really good, the salsa verde that they were cooked in was great. I enjoyed the rice and beans as well. Thanks.

This is a hidden gem! They've got the best service and very tasty food!

From the look of it outside, I was worried this was a chain. It was not and the street tacos were amazing! The service was very fast as well. I went with a vegetarian/pepper blend, a pastor, and a chorizo taco. All were great, and I'm glad I tried all three but I would have a hard time ordering anything but the chorizo next time (I know that about myself, and that's why I tried three different ones the first time).

Dont know if they changed cooks today or what! Ordered Carne Guisada and got what looked like mole. Completely different flavor and style. It ( the mole) was very good cant complain. Just hoping this is not what they changed their carne guisada to. Because mole is totally not the traditional tex mex carne guisada dish. Not sure how to post pictures here. Wish I could.

Some of the best chicken fajita street tacos I’ve had in a very long time! This place does it right! Clean restaurant. Kind staff. Quick service. Portions are small. Order double if you’re doing the tacos! All in all 10 out of 10. I wish this place were closer to Houston! Overall great experience!
