McNear's Saloon & Dining House

We attended a rehearsal dinner here in the upstairs area and it was absolutely perfect for families. There is a slide and toys near the arcade games to entertain little ones while family mingles. The food was great, the service was incredible!

Located at the heart of downtown Petaluma, McNear’s is a classic. The Brie Burger is delicious! And I’m not crazy about Brie cheese. But this was yummy! I asked for a side of soup instead of fries or salad, the soup was gratifying. Lots of flavor! I recommend sitting outside on warm sunny days. The foot traffic and atmosphere of Petaluma has its own mellow vibe. After eating walk along the avenue, old downtown is relaxing and at an easy pace. Oh and the Guava hard cider is tasty.

Great food and drinks! I got the fried chicken and my wife got the fish and chips. Both meals were excellent. Was surprised that I liked the side of carrots that came with my meal so much that I ordered more.

Good atmosphere and great service as well!

I got the Pain Killer to drink and I will be ordering it again next time! Can't wait to come again.

Our time at McNears Restaurant in Petaluma was simply fantastic. Meeting up with friends, we enjoyed a wonderful evening sharing drinks and appetizers. The fried calamari was a crispy delight, perfectly seasoned and paired with a delectable dipping sauce. The pot stickers were a burst of flavor, leaving us craving for more.

The ambiance was inviting, creating a cozy space for conversation and relaxation. The attentive staff added to the positive experience, ensuring our glasses were never empty and our plates were promptly cleared.

On the suggestion from the hotel staff I and a coworker stopped in for dinner not sure what to expect. I had the "Winter Salad" which was incredible and I devoured the entire generous thing! I also ordered the "Happy Hour" pot stickers which were slightly crisp on the outside and wonderful! I only wish we were in town longer to try more items from the menu.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon in door and out door dining, sat at the bar. Bartender was friendly and service was great. Had a great grill cheese and the tomato soup that came with was amazing and I don't like tomato soup. Will definitely visit again

Awesome food, atmosphere, and service, before my honeys bday present. Amazing Ahi tuna tacos, seafood platter (fish and shrimp), and potato skins. Also a lovely Pinot Noir and Irish coffee. Nom-nom-nom! Now, it's wrestling time, next door. Micro Mania Midget Wrestling @ Mystic Theatre here we come!

Yeah this place is great. Just had my first beer from a tap since the plague, man was it delicious! Met up with a couple friends, joked with the wait staff and ate some yummy food.

We had a delightful lunch at McNears Christmas Eve day. Mine was the grilled cheese sandwich. We also had a very good grilled ahi sandwich and a kid’s size burger and a salad. A good selection of craft beers on tap topped it off. Friendly and prompt service welcomed us.

Can’t go wrong with McNears. My go-to food item is the Colonel chicken salad. They also have a good happy hour too. Love the funky, old Petaluma vibes!

Didn't know what to expect, but ended up with a fantastic meal. I enjoyed the Ahi Salad, and it was steller! My friend had the Ahi Tacos. Also wonderful!

I ordered calamari and the fried chicken tacos with draft beer. Good food, good service, overall great lunch

Was there at 5pm. No wait at all. Got a smash burger and a Modelo. Medium well burger was 5/5. Very tasty. Slightly messy but so darn good.

I've become a regular at McNears. With good food and great selection of local brews, you will never have a bad time here. This storied tavern is one of the oldest and greatest in California. For my friends with sensitive ears; Like most taverns, it gets loud on game nights 😁

Hadn't been here in years. Still a great place to hang out and get some really good food and drinks. It's been remodeled since last time I was there, very bright and clean inside.

We had the fish fry combo. Have to say the best fish and chips and prawns dinner plate we've had. Something special in the Tartare sauce. SOooo good.

Super chill spot on weekdays great for catching up with friends or sports. Great atmosphere and vibes from this place.

The owners and staff have always been nice to me, even when I didn't deserve it. Very cool spot that's been around forever. Next door is The Mystic Theatre, my favorite spot for live entertainment and to discover new bands. The service is on point. The portions are generous. Cheers 🍻

Great American food and awesome staff. Cocktails are awesome and a great local selection of whiskey and even the 707 Vodka limited release.
