The Vortex

The Vortex is a burger joint you won't want to miss! Their Blue Shroom burger was perfectly cooked, and the tots were crispy and amazing. Loved the wings and fried pickles too. Our bartender, Shannon, helped me with fantastic beers recommendations. Great food, service, and atmosphere. A must-try in Atlanta! I will definitely be back.

This place is so cool. The food was wonderful. My daughters had burgers and I had a Rueben. OMG…Best Rueben ever. I’m back in Texas dreaming about it. And the drinks are on point! If you’re in midtown Atlanta this is a must try. No kids..Adults only.

My son and I stopped for lunch. This has a cool, and a little macabre decor. But, I enjoy that stuff. It is a bit different in expectations of attendance of the staff. But, they state that right in the menu, it make take a few minutes, just relax, and if that bothers you, it probably isn't the place for you. For us, it was all good as we could just chat.

The food was pretty darn good. Granted, we only had burgers, but it was one of the better burgers either of us have had. The staff was friendly, and the food came out expeditiously. I would recommend this bar and grill to anyone. Just one point, it is 21 and over, so leave the young ones at home.

Had a great time at The Vortex with fantastic staff and service. Loved the Pickle Rick burger & tots. Co-workers enjoyed hell & boring burgers. All happy members of the clean plate club. Good food, reasonable bill. Highly recommend a visit!

Loved the whole vortex vibe and the food was delicious! I got the blue shroom burger and it was cooked to perfection and super tasty. I didn’t get any of the ridiculous huge burgers as I would have never finished it. If you love mushrooms and blue cheese try my burger! Cool neighborhood

Finally had an opportunity to go to the Vortex in Little 5 Points after living in Atlanta for a couple of decades. There are about 15 free parking spaces in the lot nextdoor. Additional parking in the same lot will cost you $10. Not too bad for Atlanta. The Vortex is a bar, so if your typical eau-de-beer bothers you, you may hafta pass. The decor is definitely worth coming in for. Staff are incredibly friendly. We were a party of three, arriving at 5 pm on Friday & were seated immediately. Yay! Vortex is known for its burgers, so burgers we enjoyed. Our wait person brought a stack of napkins & that should’ve been the clue that juice would be a-drippin’. I had the Lone Star Tex melt. A burger on Texas toast with cheddar, onion rings & bbq sauce. Delicious. So big I could only eat 3/4 of it. This was accompanied by a generous helping of crispy tater tots. I’d definitely go again! They will card you at the door. Strictly 21+. I saw a young woman in a wheelchair roll in, so thumbs up for accessibility. Bathrooms are small but fine as bar bathrooms go. Cool rock music playing - not too loud though, so you can still converse. Red lights came on at about 6 pm creating another vibe presumably for the late-night crew. (You’ll see my red food shots.)Elevated bar food, interesting signs & knickknacks and a menu with enjoyable paragraphs to read. Definitely worth a trip.

I love the vibes of this place! My family and I came here a few days ago (myself for the first time) and I was not prepared! I love hole-in-the-wall type places and the fact that you can tell by their menu that they're about their business is refreshing, thats the kind of place I love to see! I went with the original bacon cheeseburger (Classic Bypass) & loved it! I'm a burger person already, but the fact I was able to eat an entire half-pound burger without feeling like DEATH afterwards is a WIN! As mentioned by someone else, there could be some more gluten free options added for those with allergies/sensitivity - but the food that was available & was purchased by our party was all amazing!

The Vortex is that bar that you can have a good time not what time of day. Staff is top-notch. The food is good too. If you are in the Atlanta area, you need to go to The Vortex!!

We had such a great time with my friend who’s visiting us from Mexico City. Perfect place to have such delicious hamburgers! Yummy 😋

Here we have it, probably the best burger I've had since moving to Atlanta nearly two years ago. Their BBQ Bacon Mac n Cheese burger is nothing short of astounding and they have CHEESE CURDS! Plus the decor on point!

Absolutely love this place, the food is phenomenal, the staff is always helpful and the place always has a fun atmosphere, the wings are great but the burger, that’s the main attraction!!

One of the Atlanta mainstays. I just wanted something good to go, so I came in make a quick order. On this occasion, I got the ATL Chopped Cheese with a side of loaded potato salad. It was so good. Normally, I wouldn't get a chopped cheese outside of NYC, but this twist of it was really good. And the loaded potato salad is one of my favorite sides of theirs. Great prices on their sandwiches & burgers as well, for the portion size. Inside is small, but it's a neighborhood joint. Parking is a small lot.

We saw this restaurant the last time we visited Little Five Points and decided to try it for lunch today. A shared appetizer, two sandwich entrees, a shared dessert, and two soft drinks were just under $60. We did not have any drinks from the bar, but it their menu had a few tasty options, and the ladies behind us were loving their shots!!
We had no wait and sat upstairs. Our waiter was amazing! Friendly, knowledgeable, and a lot of fun. We started with a 1/2 order of Barracho Nachos. They hit the spot as a munchable while we perused the menu. My husband ordered the Original burger with tots, and I had the Grilled Cheesy MOFO (minus the pepper jack) with tomato soup. My husband enjoyed his burger. My sandwich was delicious! The soup didn't really accompany the sandwich the way I wanted. It's a good soup, it just wasn't as tomato flavored as I prefer with my cheesy sandwich. We finished with the funnel cake fries, which were super fresh and yummy! We can't wait to visit again.

Food was amazing! Service was great! Drinks were tasty! We got the cheese balls and a chicken appetizer, then the 3 of us ordered burgers! The zombie apocalypse was great. The hells fury is soo hot, don't order it if you don't wanna burn your taste buds 🤣 the Mac an cheese and fries were also delicious

The entire place is very decorated and it is an entire experience!! The burgers are absolutely amazing!! We ordered different burgers so we could cut them in half and swap! Highly recommend the four horseman burger & the blue shroom!!

The Vortex is a 21 and over bar. There are very limited free parking and many more paid parking spots. Seating is fairly tight inside, however, they do have a patio area upstairs. It's enclosed and less crowded but not as much of the Vortex atmosphere.
They have a very well-stocked bar and are likely to have or able to make any drink you want.
We ordered the muthaclucking chicken rolls for an appetizer. They were amazing. The dipping sauce was amazing.
I got the plain ole cheeseburger. I've eaten several times and have tried many of the specialty burgers so I wanted to try just a plain burger. It was far from plain. The patty tasted very good. It came with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and pickles. The condiments were on the table. I would recommend that burger. I got Tatar tots with mine. My daughter got fries, the tots are better.
I also got a bowl of chili. I was impressed. The menu says it's hot, to me it had the right amount of heat. Not too hot to eat but just right. I do like spicy foods though.
Dessert. We got the fried cheesecake and funnel cake fries. They were both amazing. Between the two, I prefer the cheesecake.
Needless to say, I left stuffed.
I recommend the Vortex if you're looking for a great burger and a good atmosphere.

Great burgers, cooked and seasoned very well. There are many choices to pick from, which is impressive, given that they're all probably very good.
Fries weren't memorable, or any other sides I have tried so far, just passable.
We had a good attentive server.
The atmosphere is unique (the quips all over the menu and website) with a nice small-town vibe inside.

Always a favorite restaurant of mine to stop at when in Atlanta. I ordered the hells fury burger. Be ready for heat if you get it. But excellent experience once again.
