Whiskey Hotel Barbecue

This place was amazing. From the gentleman who greeted us when we walked in to one of the owners, Amy who was incredibly sweet. She went above and beyond to make sure our visit there was definitely one to remember. The food was absolutely delicious, a good BBQ place needs no sauce and this place definitely hit that marker. Definitely a place pinned on my map when we are in town. Looking forward to dining there again. Oh, and if you want to get a really good smoker they have those too. So incredible!

This is legit the best BBQ I’ve had since my trip to Austin in March 2024. Chopped brisket is absolutely outstanding. Ribs were excellent. I am still in awe that bbq this good is available in northern Illinois!

Thought I was going to have to go back to Lockhart if I ever wanted a giant beef rib again, but out of nowhere Whiskey Hotel shows up. Bark was set up nicely, smoke was perfect. Felt like eating back in Texas again. The Mac and cheese was superb. Also had a dill pickle pasta salad that was really great. All the sauces were great even if I didn't think they were needed, the food stands up on its own. Also the pickled onions and the dill spear they served with the plate were amazing. Simple food executed incredibly well. Fantastic. Will definitely be coming back.

This place is AMAZING!!! Not just the best BBQ in the Rockford area, but some of the best that I’ve had anywhere. Meat Candy, barbacoa, and sliced brisket are the standouts for me, but everything I’ve tried is wonderful. With food this good, I could probably excuse iffy service, but the staff are great too. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I’m genuinely excited to have a restaurant this good so close to home. Keep up the great work!

We've been here a couple of times, and every time, it has not disappointed. I recommend trying their desserts as well. Each time, they've had different desserts, and they've all been delicious. They tend to sell out so I wouldn't go too late in the day. We have yet to try their corn bread, but all their other sides have been great.

We went yesterday and grabbed our food to go. So delicious and packed very well. Brisket was amazing, Meat Candy was so tasty, Sausage was spicy but really good and Pulled Pork was awesome with the coleslaw on top. Felt just like being in Austin, Texas. Their menu has sandwiches and then also meat by the pound. We ended up getting brisket and pork sandwiches, and they use the good buns, not cheap ballpark ones. We also got 1/2 lb of sausage (was 2 links), 1/4 pound of meat candy (2 large pieces) and 3/4 pork ribs (4 bones) and a few sides so we could try a little bit of everything. Yes the bill was $70. Yes, this is in line with other BBQ places. I've picked up LD's in East Troy in my way home from Milwaukee and spent $120 on just a few pounds of brisket, pulled pork and meat loaf. In Austin for lunch for 5 people at Terry Black we were over $150. Good quality meat is expensive.

First time stopping in, the place is great, food is wonderful, staff is friendly and helpful. The moment I walked in, I had to pause and take in the wonderful smell from the meats and seasonings wafting through the place. The staff was friendly, informative and helpful, answering I questions I had.
From the first bite to the last of the Carolina pulled pork sandwich was delicious. I definitely will be back again.

Its not often I take the time to leave a reveiw but when I first found Whiskey Hotel I was vending at pec thing and could smell their amazing food all day so I knew I had to try it. It was the best pulled pork I've had in my life! So tender it just dissolved in your mouth.. The coleslaw it came with was also some of the best I've had with a unique twist of added onions that I loved. I couldn't stop ranting about it! Normally at fair type events I love to try different foods but not anymore I couldn't wait to come back the next day and get another! and boy did I rant again. My parents ended up trying them and said it was the best they'd had too, my Dad looked and sounded like he was in heaven while eating it he couldn't believe how tender it was. If you get the chance to check them out don't skip on it!! I'm sure everything on their menu will blow you away! The pitmaster and his partner where so incredibly friendly, you can see and taste the pride in their work. If I could rate more then 5 stars I absolutely would I'm a vendor at pec thing every year and what I look forward to the most is getting to eat here as much as possible in one weekend! The baked beans are to die for and the slaw can't be beat but that pulled pork with added bourbon onions is absolutely heavenly

We got the brisket by the pound, the pulled pork and a full slab of ribs. Plus beans! Everything was delicious. My fav was the brisket. It comes pulled and I made a sandwich at home. The sauces are both good but the brisket did not need anything. We will definitely be back soon!!

Food was so amazing and decently priced for how much you get! The meat candy was the best thing we ordered, but the brisket sandwich and mac n cheese were close seconds. Really, really good BBQ. Wishing much luck for this new business!!

We stopped in today for lunch and it was absolutely delicious. Best BBQ we've had in a long time! The beef ribs and brisket were 🤤. Yesterday was opening day for their Roscoe location so there was a bit of a wait due to there being a line out the door, but it was totally worth it!

We ordered the chopped beef brisket sandwich, meat candy, brisket elotes, and smokey pork and beans. Everything was delicious and generous portions. The service was fast, my son and I were in and out of there with our takeout order in under 5 minutes. We will definitely eat there again!

Mouth-watering BBQ y'all! Sooooo good! You must have the brisket, pulled pork, heck, everything we've had has been outstanding! Try their Carolina white BBQ sauce. Their pork and beans, mac and cheese, and brisket elotes are all worth returning for!

Great smoke flavored barbecue. Reasonably priced. Healthy portions. I love the Mac n cheese side, and the beans. Clean dining room. Friendly staff. Quality through n through.

Everything was absolutely delicious, we got the ribs, pulled pork, and sliced brisket. Loved the red sauce on everything but meat was delicious on its own. The Mac and cheese is THE BOMB...highly recommend!!

My gosh! My brisket sandwich was huge I could have easily made two meals out of it but it was so good I made a pig out of myself. You could cut the meat in half that you put on a bun and that would give you more meat for more customers to enjoy! By the time I got done eating it I was stuffed. Thank you

If you like real Texas smoked sliced brisket folks, this is the real deal. As a born and raised Texan now living in northern Illinois I have not found a legit bbq restaurant until now. Forget the chain restaurants and get yourself to Whiskey Hotel Barbecue! I used to have my brisket shipped to me from some of the great smokehouses in Texas but I won’t have to from now on. The smoked sliced brisket is on point! It’s near perfection with the perfect amount of seasoning on the “bark”. Their Texas Red Chili is outstanding! Can’t wait to try it on the Frito Pie. Even the smoked turkey breast was moist, delicious and not overly smoked. To round it off the pinto beans tasted like a cup of home. I am looking forward to trying everything on the menu because these bbq masters are doing it right! The service is great, too. Well done! I am so happy you are located in Roscoe.

LOVE their food!! Excellent BBQ done right! We're excited for the opening of their new location in Roscoe, IL. When family and friends from out of town come to visit, they always want to make a visit to Whiskey Hotel to get BBQ pulled pork and beef brisket. The biggest plus of all is they source their pork from a farm they went to check out in person located in Pearl City, IL that raises their pigs humanely. They are hands down the BEST for BBQ food!
