The Schooner Restaurant

I visit this establishment frequently. The food is always good and plentiful. You get a great value for your money. The staff is always nice and helpful. I recently went for my birthday and had an amazing time.

Food was absolutely awesome. Absolutely will go and eat here again, but my server absolutely stunk will not have that server again but the atmosphere and the food was out of this world.

Excellent, excellent restaurant. Well decorated to match the vibe (authentic/yacht club-esque; lots of wood trim) music was relaxing and perfect volume. Delicious plates, with everything on the menu having well written descriptions that make you salivate. Definitely a top tier seafood eatery; and would hold its own in any major US city. A hidden gem out here.

Prices range from $20-$40 and worth every penny. I ordered the grilled red snapper with pontchetrain (misspelled sry) sauce. Gratin Potato side, and house dressing (A+) on salad. In my party of 3, every dish was cooked to perfection, fish was flaky and not rubbery; fried items were crisp and cooked but not overdone. 10/10.

Also, restrooms were immaculate, and waitstaff were friendly and attentive.

Will definitely be revisiting if/when able, and highly recommend!

Gumbo is perfect. Special ordered Mahi grilled with Benville sauce. Dessert are amazing.

The service was relatively fast. Take fried boudin balls and stuffed mushrooms were excellent and well seasoned. All of the fried items we ordered were very well prepared and tasty. The Catfish Orleans was good but it's not the best crawfish etoufee I've had. I felt it was lacking a little flavor. The only disappointing dish was the dirty rice. I can't say that it tasted like any dirty rice I've had anywhere in 45 years. I had to send that back and replace it with green beans, which were fine.

Our waitress was so nice and friendly. Checked on us all the time. Their drinks were so good and colorful. The food was amazing as always.

The Schooner consistently has fresh, tasty food, with excellent service. Their shrimp dishes, fresh fish, and sides are always well prepared. I get the captain's platter which has a good variety of seafood on it.

Had a crazing for seafood and this place always comes to mind. Never have I been disappointed nor left hungry. We had a waitress who was brand new but did an amazing job. Wish I could remember her name but very friendly. Started out with a dozen oysters and they completely hit the spot. But their rolls and little toasties are always amazing, stinks if you are watching carbs. I had their grilled seafood platter which had shrimp, oysters, scallops, tilapia, potatoes, au gratin. The potatoes at gratin are always the star here. But everything was great and always on point. Without a doubt one of my favorite from childhood till now.

My son, my grandson and l ate lunch there today. It was the 1st time . The food, the service and the atmosphere was awesome. Our server Parker was awesome. He answered our questions about the menu, kept our drinks ( tea and Dr. Pepper) glasses filled. Again, everything was a 5 star experience. So, if you go in there , ask for Parker.

Dinner at 6:00 on a Friday night and they were packed. We were seated promptly and our server was on it. The salad to start with was fresh as always. This is one of the few places I don’t skip the salad. Seafood and crab gumbo was delicious. Their gumbo cannot be beat! Full of shrimp and crab with a dark roux just like it should be. Fried oyster dinner was delicious as well. The oysters were cooked perfectly with a nice crispy coating. The au gratin potatoes are on my top 5 list of favorite side dishes. Don’t skip this gem!

The Schooner offers a wonderful dining experience. We regularly drive down to Nederland from Beaumont to eat there. They always have great tasting food, friendly service, and a casual atmosphere, all at a reasonable price. Whenever my daughter is in town from college, The Schooner is the first place she wants to go to eat out. Looking forward to our next visit.

The Schooner is a long-established seafood restaurant serving up some of the best food in all of southeast Texas. Nothing on the menu is bad, it's all delicious. Plan on going over and over again so you can try as many items as possible. My dad can't go without getting at least a cup of gumbo to go with his meal.

Unbelievable seafood. But I rarely get to enjoy seafood living in the Rockies. This was my second visit and it was still delicious. 4 stars on the service cause the server would not leave us be.

Schooner's is the place to dine!!! This was my 1st time eating here, the meal was AWESOME!!! Our server was Caleb, and his menu knowledge was impressed... He made our Schooner experience that much more.. My Pastor and I will definitely be back.. Thanks Schooner's & Thanks Caleb 👏 👏 👏

They deliver in case you can't go pick up. It was good sorry I didn't take a picture before I started eating.

Food was excellent, but unfortunately our male waiter spent too much time flirting with the female waitresses that we didn't even get all of our order, very disappointed ended up having to get the rest of our order to go.

The Supper Mahi Mahi Fish, Blackened Shrimp and were really good. Loaded Baked potato was Hot and Fresh. Our waitress was fast and didn't let our drinks run out. The Sweet tea was perfect for a Hot Sunny Day. Thank You!

It's been a week and one nipple is still erect! Best and most original seafood you will find....there is only one schooner!! Sometimes I shed a tear when I first sip the gumbo roue

The food is always delicious. I love their salads also. Everything is great!
