Vernon Downs Casino Hotel

As always had a wonderful night at Vernon Downs hotel casino. Rooms are clean, staff is very friendly and helpful. New machines all over. Host Mark Abel is a great asset to this establishment! He goes above and beyond to provide the best experience for customers. Never had a bad time at Vernon . Great music Fridays and Saturdays Recommended this place ! You will have fun.

Pro: Love this small, friendly smoke free casino. Was there twice recently after a couple years away. I play mostly video poker and the selection is small, but adequate. This is a lottery game, not regular VP so the payout is a bit lower, but the flip side is the machines won't let you make a strategy choice that costs you money. If you do it uses various bonus methods to make it up to you.
Con: I was there for six hours over two trips and never saw a beverage server.

Very nice hotel! Super clean. Personal extremely friendly, helpful and professional (especially the night clerk working 7/29/24 @ 9:30!) all this plus a very quant continental breakfast! Definitely a five stars establishment!!!!

Always love staying here. Beautiful views and the casino is perfect size. All employees are friendly and helpful, hotel, restaurants and casino. Looking forward to our next trip!

Only issue? Pool has way too much chlorine. Smell it down the hall.

The room upgrades are really nice. Room even had a bath. Hot tub and pool area is also nice. Everything was open in the casino like restaurants and bar. Highly recommend!! They know how to treat people here.

We have been here for the buffet many times. Always satisfied!! We had a party of six for Valentines Day buffet 2024. Something has changed. The staff was just great!! Very accommodating, polite and engaged. The food was extremely good. Our waitress had her hands full but never wavered. We are so thankful and happy with our Valentines Day dinner. Keep it up and we will definitely be back. Thank you.

My husband and I did enjoy staying here together. We love the slots & food etc the only thing we don’t like is how uncomfortable the beds are as each stay we have stayed here together definitely didn’t get any sleep due to the fact the beds are so stiff, The hot tub jacuzzi suite was very small couldn’t fit more than one person in the jacuzzi. I love Vernon Downs but as a casino and hotel guess we will pass on the hotel part for now on as everything else but that is great. Staff is very friendly and helpful!

Darlene's flowers delivered a wedding there on April 6, 2024! Beautiful venue for a wedding! Everyone was very helpful and pleasant to work with.

We did a quick over night stay. Very reasonable price. The only complaint we had was very limited food choices..... they said they were under staffed and couldn't open the buffet restaurant. ???

We only went for the horse races. A little run down but the racing was fun to watch. We did a little betting and won. I would go again.

Though we are probably not their typical guests we were very pleasantly surprised with our stay. This was the half way point on our summer road trip and we were just looking for place to crash for the night. The room was unbelievable! It was huge, clean and had so much to offer. The staff at the front desk were friendly, helpful and very welcoming. I was traveling with my daughter and she absolutely loved this hotel. Beds were very comfortable, the only ding I would give them is there was no blanket or comforter just a doubled top sheet, so if you are a cold person you might want to bring your own. If you are interested in gambling the casino looked like a lot of fun. They had several restaurants to choose from. I would definitely stay here again.

Thank you Vernon Downs! I had the BEST time! Bet on my first horse race ever and won! Thanks to the nice cashier/teller (not sure what they’re called) who educated me on how to place a bet. The slots were hitting and the drinks were amazing! I hope to be back asap. Nicest people ever and a great way to spend a day!

Food and service excellent.

Visited the casino and track. Nice variety of slots and good band playing the night I was there. Sorry to see the track doesn't get the business of generations past. Track facilities could use a facelift but it's probably not fiscally wise. Actual track in great shape. We had good weather and a good time. Good idea to bring a camping chair of sorts-picnic tables and folding chairs aren't all that comfortable.

Went for a graduation. Nice place to have it. Also ate the buffet before.

The rooms are updated and beautiful! Very nice rustic feel throughout the room. The hallways have also been updated and look fresh. The room was very clean and comfortable. We have stayed here multiple times and it is always comfortable clean and quiet

We recently booked our wedding here and it was the best decision we could have made. So much was included for such a reasonable price! Our guests were able to book rooms for only $99 a night because they were having a winter special. We got the honeymoon suite complimentary for two nights, which was recently remodeled and had a great aesthetic. It comes with a Jacuzzi which was much needed! We also had use of their bridal suite which was bright and spacious and had everything we needed. Our ceremony and reception took place in the ballroom which was gorgeous, and easily fit our 150 guests with a large dance floor. We only heard great things about the food, and the portions were huge! The coordinator, the bartenders and the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. We couldn't be happier with our choice to book here!
