On my recent visit from out of state, brought some first timers. My order included the imaged vegan sandwich, a scone, blueberry danish, and a delicious loaf of bread. Visitors had coffee and avocado toast. Staff was, and continues to be pleasant, and knowledgeable about the day's offerings. Wherever you are at in DMV region, this is a local bakery shop that is worth the drive. Thank you!

This place is amazing! No wonder people drive sometimes for hours to get there...Everything is of the highest quality...Baked goods made with care and love. The Old-fashioned Cinnamon Roll with Cream Cheese Icing was the best I ever had! And the vegan sandwich that is Truly good: When they say 'has avocado,' they mean Lots of avocado...just the way it should be. And to make the whole experience really special, the staff was over-the-top friendly and helpful. A real delight!

We skipped in about an hour before close on a Sunday and had a really great experience! Things were a little hectic but the cashier caught us looking lost right away and was so polite and helpful. A lot of stuff was sold out (which we absolutely expected an hour before close, so we weren't bummed at all) but we got ham and cheese croissants and I ended up getting a big loaf of the Sriracha garlic bread.

My sandwich was toasted and warm and delicious, and the loaf of bread came home with me. Man was it good! It was $12, but I really feel like I got my money's worth. I made breakfast sandwiches for a week with it and it stayed fresh and delicious. The spice level was great. I'd absolutely grab another loaf and croissant next time I'm in the area! I heard the focaccia and cookies were good, too.

Best breakfast sandwiches! Also the black market bun is so good. The croissants are more crispy than soft so it depends on your pastry preference! But the bread and everything we've had has been so delicious!!!

Probably one of the best bakeries I have ever been to - and I've been to all 50 states and 18 countries. They have things down to a SCIENCE.

If you park and notice a line out the door, don't panic. Black Market Baker's has an incredible team moving like ice skaters behind the counter. And may I add, with big smiles and laughs on their faces.

You'll gently be guided down the entire display case of scrumptious baked goods, all of which are fresh and constantly being restocked. Check out their instagram - they post their weekly specials on there, but what I particularly enjoy is that they provide a story for each new item they created for the week. It's a brilliant way to tell a story and excite us for more.

Highly recommend any of the egg sandwiches - especially with bacon. They bacon is thick-cut, salty, and so yummy on either the sourdough or the English muffin.

You'll also want to walk out of there with several baked goods and maybe even a loaf of bread. They're extremely generous and appreciate feedback, so please tell them how you enjoyed the food and they may even sneak an extra goody in your box every once in a while.

Small warning though, once you bring visitors from out of town to here, they'll always expect a stop here or for you to bring Black Market Baker's along to when you visit your visitors (yes Dad, I'll make sure to bring you another Mixed Berry Danish next time I drive up to Pennsylvania).

Anyways, every dollar is worth spent there. Take my money because it's well deserved :-)

My experience, at black market bakers is one I will never forget. The people that work there are welcoming and very kind they are there to help you and guide you through all their vast baked goods. some of the best baked goods I have ever had from a Shop. Also, the coffee holds its own. This place is the best of two worlds. I highly recommend you go there immediately and try out some of your big goods or just buy a loaf of bread. It’ll be gone in a day.

The food here is AMAZING. They are also very quick - we walked into a huge line that was almost out the door yet were walking out within 20 mins with multiple items and drinks. There's nothing you can get that's bad here, it is all EXTREMELY good.

The service was so friendly while being quick and efficient. Food was PHENOMENAL!! Had a lavender lemon cream bun that was to die for. Partner had a breakfast sandwich and scone and was very pleased. Would come here every day if I could! They were very busy so it was loud, but honestly not their fault for that.

First time having a breakfast sandwich. Had the original egg, bacon and cheese on sourdough. The over easy eggs was a nice touch and it was delicious. Pastry’s are a aways good. Wife tried the PB&J and loved it.

I stopped by to pick up some bread and pastries on a Sunday morning, around 8AM it was busy, I had to wait in line for about 5 mins to order and then about 15 mins to get my bag of bread and pastries, all premade, just needed to be packed; but if yiu think of the wait time in NY or even Bethesda, this is nothing!
The bread, focaccia and ciabatta, were really good, and so were the pastries, croissant, scones and a roll I cannot remember the name.
All my family enjoyed and I recommend it, especially if you enjoy fresh bread.
I also want to note that someone gave this place a one star because there were no pies and cakes and they did not consider it a "bakery", which blew my mind! Breads are the main components of a bakery, one star friend, and this place has wonderful BREAD! That's a bakery in my Portuguese definition of "padaria".
I love that there is a place for fresh morning bread in the Annapolis area.

What a treasure! We went to this bakery to try it out as someone had recommended it to me. From the moment I opened the door we knew it was going to be an amazing experience. The breakfast sandwich of bacon, egg and cheddar on freshly baked foccaicia bread was on point! It was so good we went back the next day to try another one. We also tried the cinnamon sugar flaky pastry- incredible! The pecan pie shortbread was very decadent and a big hit with us as well. The space is very open, bright, and welcoming. All the staff were super friendly and eager to answer our questions. It would be helpful if they had signs in the bakery section to tell you what each item is. I did have to ask what different items were, the staff didn't seem to mind and were very helpful. The caffe latte was excellent! There are tables inside and outside for your convenience. I cannot say enough good things about this place. We are excited to go back again this weekend! I wish we had one of these on Kent Island!

This was my first experience here today, and I loved it. I wanted to try one of everything, but we settled on the El Blanco. And it was so dang good. The fresh sourdough bread was what made the sandwich. My husband got an iced coffee and I had a regular black coffee both really good. We also got the banana mascarpone muffin to split later. The servers were so sweet. They even put up a few umbrellas outside for patrons. I will definitely be back!!!

I have been to both the Port Annapolis and Edgewater locations. Friendly, efficient service with excellent food. The scones are super tasty and so is the avocado toast. Definitely two of my favorite breakfast items.
Highly recommend.

Came here for a late breakfast, early lunch. A lot of the breakfast pastries were sold out by then, but the staff was courteous in making substitute recommendations. My kids loved the Black Market pastries. The tofu sandwich was delicious (and I don't normally go for tofu). It gets very busy quickly, but the staff works fast and were very kind to me and my two small children.

Black Market Bakers is the best place to buy fresh baked goods. I have continuously gone every Saturday, unless I'm out of town. It's my ritual. I love every item, and my husband stops me from buying too much since we are only two stomachs. Are the baked items themselves pricey? Yes, but they are huge, and did I mention they are handmade in store the morning of. Well worth the price! Make sure to check their Instagram for a weekly updated menu @blackmarketbakers.

Shown in my photos (from the Valentine's menu):
♥ ham, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich(available year round)
♥ raspberry linzer cookie
♥ passion fruit mimosa cruffin
♥ raspberry-meyer lemon croissant.

Well, I found my newest addiction. Was there a long line? Yep! Was it worth the wait? 100%!

I got the breakfast sandwich with: croissant, scrambled egg, American cheese, and bacon. It was delicious! It's huge and a meal into itself. I also got a Peppermint mocha.

Staff was fantastic and incredibly calm despite how busy they were. I'm guessing because the menu changes weekly they can't have signs for their baked goods, but it would've been helpful. I had to point in the direction of all of the items I was curious about while standing by the cashier, asking what each one of them was. Not a big deal, but I felt like I was holding up the line while the guy explained them.

Came home with a baguette, a scone, a muffin, and possibly a cruffin (I can't remember at this point). It all looked so good I wanted one of everything! I'll definitely be back!

A wonderful gem of a bakery that does truly brilliant breads as well as wonderful pastries. A rare combination for a single bakery to get right! Not only that, the vegan options are truly excellent and not an afterthought. Breakfast sandwiches are also great. The variety of options can be overwhelming but only in a good way. The coffee options are excellent as well. The croissants alone truly set this bakery apart - they are just as good as many I’ve had in Paris, and better than any I’ve had in NYC and other fancy bakeries across the US. Baguettes and other breads are better than any others I can find locally- even the Great Harvest Baking co. The cruffin of the week always manages to be creative, tasty, and not gimmicky. On the weekends the lines can be long, but there is ample staff and if the line doesn’t move quickly it’s because of indecisive customers, not slow service. Additionally, they are friendly and knowledgeable. I went in with my teenage son who had been away at college and the manager greeted him by name! This is an amazing local gem that makes its special to live around here.
