La Catrina Restaurante & Bar

Delicious food, attentive waitress, and a hometown ambience. I ate here with a party of five. I had a burrito and the chile rellenos. I lost track of what everyone else in my party was eating, as I was too preoccupied with gobbling down my selections. If you get out to Watertown I highly recommend that you make this your destination lunch spot.

Stopped in after a long bike ride from Minneapolis. I ordered the Chimichanga and it was good, my wife got the Chimi-fajita which she enjoyed and a friend ordered the large Catrina’s Guac. The best item was the handmade guac. The added mango and jalapeños was great. Overall the food, service and atmosphere was good. Would recommend.

I usually frequent an establishment a few times as a baseline before reviewing. La Catrina officially has my heart and my appetite! Only in Mexico have I gotten a mojito as perfect as these. The food is a solid 10, service is a solid 10, and
atmosphere and decor are a solid 10. La Catrina is stuck with this family of 7 indefinitely!!!

YES! this is a great place. The Al Pastor street tacos are excellent, 8/10 - almost perfection! Excellent place, fast service, excellent food. Limited seating because it is popular and busy which is a good thing! The top shelf margaritas are amazing. No disappointments here.

I never write reviews, especially halfway through my meal but I had to stop and do it. The tamales were the best I've ever had. The masa mixture was moist and buttery and the filling was fantastic! My husband had seafood enchiladas and none of the seafood was overcooked or rubbery. Everything was fresh and just spot on. Our waitress was fantastic and there was a young man that seated us who checked on us, cleared our dishes etc. He was very personable for such a young man and he just made our night awesome! And don't even get me started on the prices. Cheap!!! I will be recommending La Catrina to everyone I know!

We really enjoyed the food. The employees are wonderful and some are just downright adorable. The ambiance is perfect for a laid-back dining experience. The owners really take pride in their restaurant.

My wife and I really enjoyed our food and drinks we had. I highly recommend this place, great service and amazing food on top of it all. Hands down sone of the best I've had around this area! 😋 We plan on going back very soon. Yummy

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was tasty and authentic. Only negative part of the experience was there was a lot of flies. The resturant looked very clean, so it could have been the season.

This place was recommended by someone at the Watertown Pharmacy. I asked the server which meal would blow my mind. He recommended the Catrina's Plate which comes with chicken, shrimp and steak each marinated and seasoned in their own way. IT WAS AMAZING!!!

We drove 30 minutes to enjoy something new and were very happy we did! We'd heard about this from two others. We met Angela, co-owner with her husband Salvador. Angela recommended Quesabirria and it was delicious! We also started on the Parrillada and look forward to tasty left-overs. We topped it off with a homemade churro shaped as a basket. Angela recommends early before 530 or after 7 to avoid the rush.

I have eaten my share of
Mexican food all over the Twin Cities Area. This is the best out of all of them. My fiancé has eaten at Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen in Vegas; he says their food compares.

I’ve ordered multiple things off their menu, never had an item that wasn’t delicious. I keep taking all my friends and family here to share it with them because something this good just has to be shared.

Best part isn’t the food though, it’s the people. The staff here are amazing! (Shoutout to Salvador and KP who were my first intro to this place and made it great!) They’re attentive, knowledgable of their food and just nice people. I’ve been there enough now that staff greet me by name and ask for updates about my kiddo. They also have helped with local school fundraisers; giving back to the community.

So glad we have this place in our little town!

This is probably one of the best places I’ve eaten Mexican food at in Minnesota. Asada fries were phenomenal and the Ranchero Molcajete was amazing. Agua de horchata can be improved, but I still give them a 5 star overall.
Will definitely be back when I’m in the area.

Had early dinner here tonight- menu is huge but we started with Texas margaritas which were dangerously good! While we tried to figure out what to have for dinner, we ordered the Catrina guacamole-this was by far the best guacamole I have ever had and I grew up in California! I ordered the carne asada and it was everything I had missed from the authentic Mexican restaurants out west! We will definitely be back! Food and service was 5 star!

For me. Piña Loca was INSANE! Well worth moving out past your comfort zone. The flavors burst in every bite, and you get to keep the pineapple!

Yum! They make the top shelf margaritas from scratch squeezing the orange and limes! So good. The food and service is top notch! They are getting bombarded daily so be patient with them!

Most authentic dishes I've had in MN, especially around the area. While yes, they have some Americanized dishes smothered in way too much cheese to make those MN spice people happy. But other dishes with actual flavor make me say, yes! Thank you. It's about time.

Watertown, you have no idea what a gem you have in this place. My husband is Hispanic, his father is from Michuacan. We are very picky about our Mexican food. This is about as authentic as you can get. We live in Colorado and came to visit family in MN, this restaurant outdoes most restaurants even in Colorado. Amazing food, great service. The salsa and chips are sooo good. The flan to die for. We can't wait to come back. Don't walk..run to this place. Muchas gracias por una gran experiencia!!

The bar was the most beautiful bar I have ever seen, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was unbelievably good. I recommend to anyone! Cant wait to come back! Was worth the 45 minute drive!

We loved this place…we live about 25 minutes away but it was worth the trip.

I had the Catrina plate and my husband had enchilada dinner. Both excellent and the salsa and chips were amazing!!
The only drawback is they don’t have much space! Do have nice outside Dino g though.
