Really enjoyed our time at Buck Creek Winery today! Found it via a quick search and were super glad we did. We each had a tasting (6 pours) and were able to swap glasses. Then we split a 3rd tasting to finish out the day.

The owners were fun to talk with and I enjoyed the stories that went with the wines.

Would have liked purse hooks under the bar. 😉🤣

Definitely recommend a visit!

My friends and I had a great time at this winery last summer. 3 of us had the wine tasting, and they even had something non-alcoholic for our designated driver. The gentleman at the counter was very informative and friendly, and we ended up buying a couple of bottles, which all tasted great.

Great tasting experience at Buck Creek Winery. I'm a Hoosier now living in Sonoma, California, and I work part time in the wine industry and I am a former wine writer for various Northern California and nation wine publications.

Suffice to say, growing up in Indiana I despised the sweet wines we are known for making and I was a bit nervous about what I'd expect - especially given that the label looks like something you'd find at a hunting cabin wall versus a modern day winery. But, we aren't in California anymore Dorothy.

I came into this tasting with an open mind and a goal to only taste wines using Indiana grown grapes (no fruit wine or wine using imported grapes from CA, OR, WA, etc).

Our tasting associate was down to earth, informative and friendly. He answered all my geeky questions. I was very pleased with his knowledge about the wines and winemakng process, as past experiences with Indiana wine tastings have often been less than informative.

I felt very overwhelmed looking at the two page wine list - 37 wines! I selected six (it's $10 for six tastings) and I chose estate and Indiana grown wines and one cider:

-William Loyd Reserve (red blend)
-Seyval Blanc (white semi-dry)
-Forget Me Not (Traminette)
-Grady's Hard Cider (heirloom apples from a few blocks away)
-Pink Ribbon Rose
-Autumn Blush (Catawba)

I was tasted the William Lloyd first, which was very confusing, as I would generally taste a guest on a dry white wine first, but, whatever. It was the only wine I chose on the official "dry" list, so that's what my first wine was.

Overall, I enjoyed the William Loyd, Forget Me Not and the Hard Cider. Those are the three I left with. The Seyval Blanc was really interesting (acidic with a strange bite) and I look forward to trying more of those at other wineries. The Pink Ribbon Rose was bearable and the Autumn Blush smelled like it was corked upon opening and pouring, but, I was told that was "just how it always smelled." I could not get past the scent of that wine when I tasted it. The rose-orange tinted wine is their most popular wine, which I cannot comprehend anyone liking.

The wines I took home are dry. The red reminded me of a slightly tannic, but comforting and warm full-bodied merlot or syrah-based red blend I'd find back home. A good easy drinking, week night red.

The Traminette is Indiana's state grape and this was my first taste of it since I left the state. I really enjoyed it. Its parent grape is Gewürz and it's got delicate floral and fruity notes, but nothing over the top. Really nice wine.

The cider was semi-dry and just plain tasty.

I noticed glasses of wine were being served in plastic cups, so I opted out of that. They were also selling wine slushies to go in big stryofoam containers, which was hilarious and very Hoosier.

Overall, I was pleased to find some wines I enjoyed and look forward to returning to the future to try Buck Creek's other wines. Cheers.

We love a good stop at a winery and wow what a great family owned business! We loved talking to the owner, not only was he very informative but also had great stories! We can’t wait to return. Thanks for the hospitality and delicious wine. Cranberry was our favorite but all were so good.

I bought the 3 wine. Awesome!!! Would have probably bought more but since they charge for tasting I didn't. I've never been to any winery or brewery that changed for their tasting

It is beautiful place to visit. While we were tasting the delicious variety of wines they had the wine steward gave information on the wines. We purchased cheese with crackers & sat outside enjoying a nice summer breeze with a glass. Then we strolled by vineyards.

We love this winery! Kathy was great. We all got $10 wine tastings and were able to sample 6 wines. I had a question about a flavor other than what was on my list, so she gave me a sample of it too! Everything we tried, we.loved!! You cant go wrong with any of them. We will DEFINITELY be back!

I stop in every time I'm in the area, as I have been for years. The people here are warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. I just opened a bottle that I picked up a year or two ago; a 2010 Syrah to pair with a strong flavored Italian dish. The wine had a dominant sweet blackberry aroma. The feel is dry, but smooth. The taste is of hard tannins, blackberry, tart cherry, plumb, and a punch of peppery spice . It paired perfectly with a sauce heavy with garlic, onion, peppers, sausage, aged cheeses, and all of the traditional Italian herbs. One of my favorite bottles! Hope you have some more hiding in the cellar!

Been stopping at this little hidden gem, just outside Indianapolis, for over a decade! Absolutely love the sweet dessert wines, especially the Roadhouse Red. Wonderful, friendly owners, and top quality wine. They have a great variety, do tastings to find your favorite, and you can even order online when you realize you didn't buy enough😉 Our hearts go out to the family who recently lost a loved one in the line of duty. The care they put into their product is evident, so we hope this review helps in some way! You won't be disappointed:)

Driving in the area and found this place. I enjoyed their wine at the wine festival but didn’t realize how close they were. You have to stand to do the tasting or buy a bottle to get a table. You get 6 samples for $10 and you can share if you come with others. I did 2 tastings, took home 4 bottles and 2 wine slushy’s. My total was around $80. I say it’s worth it

This was an excellent place. Even though they didn't have electricity, it was still excellent. The owners were very understanding and courteous. Broad range of wines, it's a must do on your winery list.

We dropped in on a Tuesday afternoon since we had not been there before. Definitely not crowded. Jeff waited on us. My wife sampled the sweet wines while I did the dry reds. You get a flight of 6 for $10 and I'd say that's pretty good. Jeff pointed out their best sellers to us. Those wines are standouts. For the dry reds, the Cabernet Sauvignon and one called Harold were very nice. I think I'm in love with Harold. The Roadhouse Red, sweet red was favoured by my wife. The Strawberry was exceptional. Awesome finish. Buck Creek is 32 years old and I'm thinking they should easily double that. Stop on by, you'll be glad you did

Great place to stop for wine tasting. We prefer dry wines but they have semi- sweet and sweet wines also. We had skipped lunch and were glad to see they had a selection of cheeses and crackers for sale (and they provided a cutting board and knife.) We picked out several bottles to take with us for later.🍷

Have been thrilled with how we are treated there every time we've gone. They talk to you like family. Enthusiastic about their wines without being pushy. Very cozy atmosphere for tasting. Fair price.

I have been to at least 15 family owned small wineries around the state, this is the best by far! The wines they have are delicious, the people are friendly and helpful also. They have lots of knick knacks and we bought a bunch of Christmas presents. They even have a cheese selection better then the grocery! I cant wait to come back again!! I am going to really stock up more then I did this time!! You guys are the best!!!
