Merrill's BBQ

The store is awesome looking and service was great, we selected this place while traveling on our spring break road trip from Jacksonville Florida, and it was a 2.5 hour wait. I got the rib plate 3 sides baked beams awesome , slaw great , corn bread good. All 3 sauces was good. Fried potatoes good , corn on cob ok, Ribs wasn’t that good to me, they was cooked in the oven not on a smoker or bbq grill and texture was tough and chewy. My wife had bbq sandwich she enjoyed it with pickles and slaw. I love trying ribs all over the south and in Florida it’s a big standard to BBQ ribs. I’d not recommend the ribs at all here. Sweat tea was also Great. Prices are good also.

The quality and price are impressive. You can taste the love and pride in the food. I have never loved turnip greens more than this place. Perfect nothing to salty and a nice kick of heat beyond all the great flavor.

Listen y’all, we stopped in here while headed home from vacation and we fed 6…. Yes 6 people for $44 and some change. We got our bellies full of great bbq for a great price. Worth the stop.

The first time I’ve tried this location was two years ago during early mid October or end of September when upon moving into the area. I must say we were impressed by the good quality and quantity of food this place serves. It reminds me of Whie Castle during the day when they would always have your food ready. The meat is tender and it’s mixed with pulled pork which looks to be a good combination. They also have coleslaw, baked beans, and potato salad which we normally order for our side orders at times. Once receiving our meal they give us wonder bread rolls to make our own sandwiches. Which I may say is quite interesting for us to give bread rolls like that to us. However I may want to point out is that if you were able to make a sandwich by putting coleslaw as the first topping then the meat and lastly putting the bbq sauce on top it’s okay. But once you have a side of baked beans. You can however feel your tastebuds a bit tired or bothered by doing so constantly, so it’s best to eat the coleslaw separately instead of putting it on the roll. Overall it is appetizing and this restaurant has been an privilege to buy food from

Stellar bbq place, specializes in to-go orders. Would absolutely come back, even if it's out of my way.

The good:
Great prices, great ribs, creme corn, absolutely amazing collard greens. Cornbread like momma used to make, none of that sweet corn cake stuff - actual cornBREAD!

The Meh:
Potato salad I could take it or leave it, not bad. Smoked chicken sandwich is above average but nothing special. BBQ sauce is tangy and seems ketchup based, pretty standard.

The bad:
They definitely specialize in to go orders, the "dine in" situation is a bit small and leaves a bit to be desired.

First time visiting. It was delicious. I had a cheeseburger and it was the best ever

Great little bbq place that was recommended to us. Got a pork plate with 3 sides (baked beans, potato salad, and corn on cob). Don't forget to get dessert. The cobblèrs are exce. Very friendly staff and great food. Will definitely go back if in the area.

Passed this restaurant and had to check it out. Nice little hole in the wall. Very casual atmosphere. They have 4 large picnic tables for seating in enclosed patio area. Order at the window and they bring your meal out when ready. Food was great! Had the pulled pork sandwich, onion rings and sweet tea. Price was great also. Would recommend.

If you Wana a good BBQ pork sandwich then this is the place to go.. the hot will clear up your sinuses lol.. love this place

The associates are always nice and polite to me. I get my food in no time. Also, those women are hard workers, too.

Great food and friendly staff. We wish they were open on the weekends so we could go there more often. Thier loaded polish dogs are the bomb aswell as the loaded bake potatoes

Best cheeseburger I gave ever eaten !! Meat patty is very thick, hard to eat just 1 at any sitting. Staff extremely nice. Prices are reasonable for the huge burger, foot long hot dog. I live.in a different city than the Merrill's restaurant and happily make the drive there for their outstanding burgers, hot dogs. You can also fine in with stipulated guide covid guidelines. Will be going back next week. Food is consistently good.

The best food in gadsden Alabama. Was skeptical at first but after I ate my first burger I NEED MORE , disappointed they aren't open on Saturdays though but this is the best food in this town.

A co worker and I went to Merrill’s on the way to a job and had the pork plate. The tangy sauce was a great compliment to the pork. The pork was very tender and well made. Awesome food if I’m ever driving through there again I’ll be back

Stopped when out of town to eat lunch with a friend who lives in this area. Everything our group I ordered was very very good! I had the veggie plate, huge chunk of cornbread, delicious turnip greens, etc. Hamburger was homemade and delicious. Loaded bbq tater was huge and very good as well. Will eat her again when in town!

My favorite BBQ place in town. When I get BBQ I want a stuffed baked potato and not all of the BBQ joints around here offer them. Plus, it has a drive thru. The service is always relatively quick and the staff is super nice. You get a great deal for the price and I always end up splitting my food into two meals. There aren't many other places you can get enough food for under ten bucks to have two meals. It tastes like food your dad would make on the grill or in the smoker. I've never eaten inside so i can't speak on the interior of the place. But I personally wouldn't care if it was a shack, the food is so good it doesn't matter where you eat it, and that's saying something. If you're looking for good homemade BBQ and a bang for your buck, there's no better place in town.

The food was awesome and the staff was so friendly. One of the best prices I've seen in a long time too. We had bbq ribs, pork sandwich and hamburger. The sides were great.
