Loved , loved ,loved our sweet little cabin . It had all the basic amenities one needs to stay comfortably . Folks who wish to disconnect for a couple of days, look no further! Getaway was available on text message throughout the stay and we could shoot our questions and get replies within seconds. The location is really nice with a lake and hiking trails nearby. Perfect for a quick escape ❤

Amazing time away in nature. The set up is perfect the communication excellent. Easy check in. Tons of effort by the hosts to make it special. Will go back to disconnect and enjoy the experience. And the dog friendly aspect was great.

A perfect place to come and disconnect from the world. We were surprised at how many cabins were here and yet they still manage to allow you to feel like you were there alone. Can’t wait to come back during different seasons to see how the experience changes with the weather.

Aptly named, as this is a great little getaway! I used this time for a short solo retreat and couldn't have been happier with the choice.

They've packed a lot of great features into a small space so you have everything you need to enjoy your time. The king-size bed up against the huge picture window makes for a perfect spot to read, journal, meditate - and of course sleep!

The design of these houses is really perfect. In addition to the big bed and picture window, you have a small table, a cook stove with teapot, a small fridge, and plenty of nooks and crannies to stow your gear. Plates, cups, pots, pans, silverware, a lighter for the fire are all here.

They include a lot of thoughtful extras that just put the icing on the cake. There is a usb-charged lantern that you can take outside. There is a radio/bluetooth speaker which was so nice to have! I like listening to music while I journal and draw. There are also a few books in case you forget yours.

Having your own fire pit with Adirondack chairs is lovely! And having a shower after that fire, or after a day of tromping through the state park nearby, was so nice! (Flush toilet, also a huge bonus! :) )

There are 49 tiny houses on this property, but you wouldn't know it. They are well spread out and windows face into the woods. You feel isolated and safe at the same time. It's very peaceful. I'm not a camper so I really appreciated this chance to spend time in the woods without needing all the camping gear.

Essentially a self-contained tiny home. A place for city folk to do some "glamping".
Close enough to see your neighbors, but far enough away to feel like you have your own space.
Nice to have a stove top and dishes available.
They have a short nature trail or you can walk on the road.
Great communication from the hosts.

I was really blown away by my experience here. The cabin is so cute and clean, and a pretty lake and river are located on the site. As a solo traveler, it didn't feel unsafe and was perfect for a quiet getaway. A pleasant surprise was the Bluetooth radio they had inside the cabin so I could play music from my phone!

My husband and I are small business owners, which means we are always working in one capacity or another. We really needed to get away and unplug for a couple of days, and this was THE perfect place to do it! There were heat advisories during our time there, so we didn't use the campfire, but the cabin was nicely air conditioned! We drove to Duluth for a day (where it was much cooler) and visited some state parks in the area. Just laying in bed looking out the window, or sitting outside reading or playing a game was perfect. This place has quiet hours...ALL of the hours are quiet hours! And they ask that you be back to your cabin by 10pm if venturing out for the day. This is NOT a place to have a party, it is a place to go relax and unwind. We are already planning our next visit!

One of the best experiences I ever had, service was top notch with instant replies to all queries we had during our stay, also cabins were squeaky clean, well equipped with all necessary equipments. I look forward to trying their other locations as well.

We did a Getaway weekend this Spring and had a fantastic time. The site is quiet, relaxing, and full of nature as promised. Bring bug spray!!! Our cabin was very clean and well-equipped. I can't believe how comfortable the bed was! Our dog was obsessed with watching out the big window. Sites were slightly closer together than we thought they would be, but well positioned for privacy. It's a little far from town or things to do but that's part of the appeal!

First time visiting, and our unit ended up being ADA complient, so the space may be slightly different than some units. We had a great time. As others have noted, they are fairly stocked, but the prices for s'mores and firewood and starters can add up, so they may want to bring up your own. The only feedback was maybe have more information on thermostat /fan use. We found that without the small fan on, the air didn't circulate, and the floor was cool. Also in summer months it would be nice to have a sheet as the comfortable was a bit too warm.

What a fabulous retreat for the mind, body, and soul!! I went for a one night to spend some time with my parents - away from technology, kids, and distractions. It was so refreshing! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a major step-up from State Park camper cabins. Things to keep in mind for your stay:
-The cabins have plenty of amenities, but are SMALL! Recommend 2 people max, especially during the winter.
- This is not a State Park. No trails, etc. It's a hotel out in the woods, so don't expect them to have a bunch of things to do for kids.
- I had plenty of hot water for a shower, just plan accordingly on usage.
-Bring a good book!

We were so blessed by this stay. We celebrated our anniversary and it was so refreshing. We could truly unwind and decompress from city life. It gave us a great chance to try out tiny house living!
We grabbed our camping tote for campfire cooking but otherwise barely needed anything that the staff didn't wonderfully supply. Felt reassured in case I discovered I had forgotten to pack anything.
The cabin was cozy and comfy, the location was quiet and remote. We loved the picnic table shore at the head of Long Lake.
Close enough to a great hike at Wolf Creek Falls.
Get the sustenance box, won't have to hardly bring a thing with you. We brought some ground Italian sausage to mix in with the penne & sauce provided, then used those leftovers in the soup provided for lunch the next day.

This was our first tiny cabin experience and it was absolutely awesome. "Best Valentines Day, ever" she said! Though the space was small, it was plenty of space for us. I'm 6'4" she is 5'10" and we usually have issues with small spaces. The ceiling was high, bed area had plenty of space for us. Everything we needed for an off grid reconnection was provided. Well, be going again on our next trip North.

We had a lovely time at our getaway here at the Kettle River location. The tiny cabin has a very comfortable queen bed, all the kitchen supplies you would need and a small but smart layout fridge that was able to hold everything we needed it to. Our cabin was located on the Sandstone fork which I would say is a little more private and wooded than some on the other road. It is very quiet and peaceful out at this location, but make sure to bring PLENTY of high deet bug spray. We decided to go hiking at banning state park which is roughly 15 min away (not bad at all) which was lovely. The AC worked great and our cabin was always nice and cool. We also brought our dog with and they provided a tether, bowls, and a bag of treats! I would say the one thing I wish was different is that simple things such as coffee/hot chocolate, fire starter and firewood were not included but rather an added payment if you chose to use them. We ended up buying firewood from banning state park at the entrance since it was cheaper. Overall we loved our stay here, and will be back in the future.

My partner and I booked this for a little weekend getaway mid winter. This will not be our last. The cabins are conveniently located 90 mins north from the cities, and a short 45 minutes from Duluth, the check in process is super easy, the accommodations are wonderful (complimentary smores kit, full kitchen items, fresh linens and towels, etc.), and the staff is attentive, helpful, and super friendly. They are also super affordable, and all nestled away in beautiful pockets of the country. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. They also have these beautiful wooden boxes to put your cellphones in to truly unplug and disconnect. They offer provisions in case you didn’t pack enough food, or wanted something else for dinner one night. There are fire pits outside each cabin (a little too cold for our weekend but next time!). Bonus, they are pet friendly and even set out new dog bowls, some poo bags, and a new bag of treats for him upon arrival. 11/0 will be back and would recommend.

My daughter, her puppy, and I had a delightful outing to Getaway Cabins in the fall. We felt immersed in nature while watching the wildlife in the forest through the huge cabin window. The cabin was private, quiet, and restful. We loved that pets were welcome too! ❤

We had a great time at the Getaway. They really have thought of everything. The unit was clean and well stocked. They even left treats for our dog which he loved. The beds were comfortable and our son loved staying in the loft bed. I was really impressed the cutomer service response. A simple text with a question or request and they responded within minutes.

If you are looking for a nice get away to relax and unwind this is the place for you.

We loved our getaway! It was hot and muggy so after biking 30 miles each day covered in bug sprays and sunscreen, it was so nice to come back to a shower and an AC cabin. We loved chilling by the campire and waking up to the view of the woods is a great relaxing way to start the day. It made our first glamping trip so much fun! Oh, and the cabin locks just like a hotel room so we felt very safe. Highly recommend!

Wintertime getaway! At first glance the units look small, but they are surprisingly spacious inside. Especially with the two bed option. We were able to start and tend a fire in the snow in December and roasted some hot dogs and s’mores before going to bed. Jen and the crew were also gracious enough to give my partner KT a small gift of candy for her 40th birthday. KT has already started thinking about booking her next trip here as the hour and a half drive from the Twin Cities use perfect for a nice relaxing weekend.

My wife and I celebrated our seven year anniversary here this past weekend and had such a wonderful experience!

Dakotah tidied up the cabin before we went in (we showed up early, but it was ok), and she was really genuinely friendly and made sure we knew to call if we needed anything.

These little cabins are SO cool! The big bay window is, of course, great for daytime views, but we weren't expecting the awesome view of the stars at night: Wow!

We had our 70 lb, two-year-old pup with us, and she wasn't quite sure how to navigate the cabin when it was bedtime, but she figured it out soon enough, haha.

The hot water for showering lasted longer than we expected; Maybe ten minutes or even more? They really thought of everything so you don't really need to bring a whole lot with. FYI they didn't have a spatula that we saw, so next time we'll bring that, but had everything else!

They do charge if you use any coffee packets, so keep that in mind and maybe even just ask which amenities are comped and which are pay.

The only true downside were all the bugs, lol! If you went on a trail you'd have an actual cloud of them following you out, but hey, that's MN and we know the drill here by now, haha.

We had a fun, quiet stay for our anniversary (they also gave us a gift pack with nice surprises), and our li'l Opes got to have her second ever outing for a trip!

We'll be coming back, hopefully around Halloween or sooner to catch the fall colors!!
