What a delightful gem of a place this is! Fresh ingredients, solid variety of menu options. We stopped in to grab something for the hour ride home but after being greeted so warmly, opted to stay and eat in.

I was expecting a simple country store, but it was like stepping into a little portal to Europe. There was a great selection of carefully selected wines, everything was very clean, the owner was kind and friendly, he takes pride in this lovely restaurant and it shows.

Based on the deliciousness of our meal, I could tell the hummus was going to be great too, so I made sure to get some to-go and when I got home I was not disappointed.

Excellent, memorable place all around. Will stop in again next time we are in the area.

*Market in The Gap* is such a deserving establishment.

Located in the middle of downtown HILLSBORO, it boats of plenty of free parking.

There are limited seats indoors, however; there is additional outside seating. A modern parachute material hangs overhead for shading.

We were lucky to meet Andy, the owner of several locations, Andy's Pizza.

Andy was instrumental in sharing the rigorous process followed to create unbelievable pizza 🍕 dough.

The overhead brick oven produces remarkable pizza pies in minutes because of its optimal design.

The building happens to be a converted garage shared on the property of a 209 year old home that still has its own "milk house."

Andy is planning on expanding this pizzeria/market.

Going back inside, the name of this business includes the word "market,"and it is backed by a variety of "grab-and-go" items from a large refrigerated shelving unit, containing a vast variety of sodas, beers, wines, as well as other to fill one's gut, in the case of chicken salad, hummus.

Andy has a serious selection of specialty wines (reds, rose, & and whites)

Hands down the BEST pizza!! The fact it’s in an adorable rustic space where you can watch the burning wood-fired oven with your pizza inside is such an added bonus 😊 Andy & Sheryl are fantastic and the hard working guys in the open kitchen make the whole experience that much better! We are so grateful to have such a gem in Hillsboro, VA 🫶🍕🍷

Wow, this pizza is delicious!!! The crust has tons of flavor- is thin and crispy and cooked perfectly in a wood fire oven. We also got the hummus and pita and it was really yummy. Pita was puffed and fresh out of the oven and the hummus had a really nice balanced flavor with a hint of lemon. Cute place- will definitely be back in the future.

Beautiful night sat out on the terrace, we met the owner Andy and he was the best host. He really took great care of us and the food was phenomenal. Thank you to Andy and his team at Markey in the Gap

We have driven past this place for the past 3 months and always said, “We should stop there.” Tonight we finally did, and I’m mad we didn’t go sooner! I was so surprised to see a lot of middle eastern options here like Za’atar, hummus, baba ghanoush, and more on their menu but also in their market. A large wine selection as well. We got the Andy’s Thyme Pizza (mozzarella cheese, za’atar, thyme, olive oil). It was absolutely delicious! You can tell the cheese they use is quality mozzarella cheese. The crust was thin and crispy, they use an actual wood fired oven. Excited to bring my family here, will be back super soon.

Don’t tell anybody but this place is great. I just call and pick up the best pizza I’ve had south of Philly.
I wish I knew the names of the folks who take the calls and run the place, I’d mention them by name.
Just 5 stars for taste, service and convenience. Great addition to this cool small town. Thank you!

Andy is such a genuine person with a great Wood Fire Pizza Shop! He has an excellent atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of food and beverage options to make you feel like you are a five star guest. We will be back! Highly recommended the Greek salad and Tiramisu

For those of us who live in Hillsboro, nothing could be more welcome! I now have (very good) pizza less than five minutes away and no longer have to make the half hour round trip to and from Purcellville (for pizza that isn’t as good anyway). Highly recommended!

Some of the best pizza around! They have a great menu with some classic pizza variations and some unique specials as well. It’s wood fired oven perfection with the perfect crust you can only get from that kind of oven. If you’re a pizza snob this is your spot! 10/10

Excellent pizza 🍕 and Andy is a great host. Love the atmosphere of this quaint location. Best pizza I've had in many years and they have pride in their food....that is missing these days in most restaurants.

ABSOLUTELY one of the best Pizza's! Owners were amazing, even offered me a wing he had made for himself for dinner. Please put them on the menu. A must stop!

Amazing wood-fired pizza, pita bread, hummus, olives, & more. Plenty of onsite parking. Cozy & rustic. Limited indoor seating but they have a covered patio outside.

Great pizza (and caprese salad), a draft beer, wonderful atmosphere, and gracious hosts. What else is there to say?!?

We stopped in on a whim and will absolutely be back again. Perfect way to treat ourselves post-hike on a gray day—nice glass of wine, amazing pizza, and great conversation with Andy himself in cozy digs.

We came in during a rainy night and the place felt very warm and the pizza smells were amazing. We ordered our pizza and it was freshly made. Very delicious, we will stop again soon.
