Sea Shanty

Heard from friends that it has great desserts so we went for dinner. Bring your appetite because this place did not disappoint. First off, the vibe when you first pull up and walk in is wonderful. Our waitress was the best; funny, witty, respectful, and gave us killer recommendations 😋

I got the burger with egg and bacon on it; delicious! It came with wedge fries (like most things did). One of my friends got the Club Sandwich - a popular choice and for good reason.

The show didn't stop with dinner; their dessert menu was large and to die for. So many great options! I got a peach cobbler; one friend got a blackberry cobbler; another the chocolate mousse cake; and the other got the coconut "Wowie Maui" cake. Everything was top notch; the servers were great; I'm in a food coma now. 🍨

Great food, great service. I had the Calamari Steak & rice pilaf. It was delicious. For dessert I went with the Apple Pie. 😋

DELICIOUS food and even better service. 🤗 The clam chowder was to die for, the fried fish sandwich was HUGE, the tacos were perfect… the staff was beyond friendly. And they even had dog treats for our pup. 🐶

We ordered Snapper place and it really fresh, cook just enough to not make it dried, love the rice on the side. Claim chowder is okay, Plash cafe has better claim chowder

A must visit restaurant while in Morro Bay, very warm environment with lots of care put into the decorations and scenery. Great food and friendly service. There is outdoor seating with very warm space heaters. Parking is very spacious considering the area.

We stopped here on our way back home after a wonderful time at the coast. We were so glad because it was the best restaurant we stopped at the whole time. It was extremely kid friendly. Our waitress Terry, was such a warm, sweet woman she shared some info about the owners and did a fantastic job making sure we were comfortable the whole time. My husband ordered a steak and I ordered the seafood combo and it was all delicious. The atmosphere is fun and makes for good conversation. The ladies bathroom was clean, and absolutely adorable. I would 1000% go back again and again.

Great food. Nice people. Indoor and outdoor seating. I had a really good garden burger and a margarita (made with wine). My kid wolf's down a grilled cheese with bacon. Highly recommend.

As you seen from our post we love to eat. If you're like us, you have to go to the Sea Shanty! We've been to Cayucos dozens of times and feel ashamed for not finding this restaurant sooner. Everything was amazing, from their chowder bowls to their seafood combo platter. Treat yourself to an amazing lunch. We hear the desserts are just as amazing. They're puppy friendly also. We definitely will go back. ❤❤

I had the roast beef sandwich with avocado and other yummy ingredients, My wife had the Turkey sandwich. It was the best. The night before I had the fried halibut and my wife had the combo plate. Perfect location for great traditional/seafood eats! I have to compliment the great staff as well... thank you!

I ate breakfast here. There were lots of options in the menu including a variety of vegetarian options. I had the 2egg breakfast. The hash browns were the best I’ve eaten. Eggs were cooked exactly as I asked.
Service was fast and friendly. They kept my coffee hot. I highly recommend this restaurant. The only downside was they didn’t open until 8 am.

We always try to go to Schooners and always have terrible drinks and terrible service. We finally decided to try somewhere new and wow have we been missing out!!! The staff was so friendly and inviting, made us feel so welcome. The inside is cute with all the hats hanging on the ceiling and there is a whole deck and outside patio that is huge, beautiful and dog friendly. We got some easy snacks, they have a few vegetarian options, not a ton, had a few beers and had a blast. Our server was exceptional. This is for sure the new spot we will be going to. See yall again soon!

Okay, u gotta try this place. I had their salad and added grilled shrimp. Twas fabulous. My wife had the salmon tacos that were equally delicious. Service was very good. Not crazy about the “truck stop” atmosphere
(Ceiling is covered in old hats/caps.)
But food more than made up for it.

I’ve been coming here that long and Have never been disappointed.
The Fried shrimp is my Favorite.

The place was clean and cute, very welcoming. We met a group for lunch. My husband had the prime rib sandwich with skin on potatoes. The horseradish was very tasty and the sandwich so good. I had the teriyaki Stix appetizer with rice. It was so tasty. If we hadn't been so full, they have a whole dessert menu! I will be back even if it's just for dessert.

LOVED this place the moment we walked in. Food was so good, filling, and memorable. We ate breakfast here and both my spouse and I were pleased and we prefer to eat plenty of animal protein at our meals. It was very easy to get a robust amount in an omelette, easy to add additional eggs, and they were absolutely delicious. The fries were the best we’ve ever had, literally. Will visit again! This place is going on our favorites list.

Fish and chips done right. Much better than many (most) places in L.A. Great service, very welcoming and relaxing. Super generous portions too.

Mom and pop seafood place. Staff is great food is very good, fresh seafood at reasonable prices and generous portions. Pescado Snapper is my go to, paired with a nice cup of clam chowder

Our very first stop on our very first visit in Cayucos. Excellent service except we had to wait for them to switch over to lunch menu. The ceviche is fresh, clam chowder is so good and the popular fish and chips delivered.
Rustic and nostalgic ambiance and garden alone is worth the visit.
Definitely a stop when we visit again.

Recommended if you’re looking for a place to stop on your PCH drive. Wonderful small town restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Close to Highway 1 and the beach, ample parking, safe neighborhood, and wonderful service. SAFE seating! Plenty of outdoor seating with an ocean breeze crossing through the deck. They have heat lamps so you’re comfortable if you want to be safe and sit outside!

Food style is American. They also specialize in steaks and seafood at night. The servers are very nice. They also have a small bar inside if you’re stopping for a drink.

Highly recommended, especially if you’re passing through and want nice food, and a beautiful little village vibe.
