The wine selection is great. If you don’t like wine, you can grab any number of beers from the wide selection.

The real reason I wanted to post is about the charcuterie board. It is dope. This is not your Costco supply run. No shade to that, but Louis really goes the extra mile to get quality ingredients, from the locally made relishes to meats and cheeses that are really quality. If you are a veg, the olives and cheeses and relishes will get the job done. It’s awesome! The environment is fun and relaxing.

Bottle House is a rockstar in the charcuterie scene. You can tell that the two guys who run it are best friends and opening this shop was their dream. They are friendly and helpful, and very knowledgeable about their international stock. Often, I’ll go in for a pairing recommendation and they nail it every time. Just tell them what you’re making for dinner and they got you. They’re even able to take requests on restocking new wines/beers.

I’m really impressed with their stock of charcuterie items which includes cheese from several countries, jams, pickled goods, and specialty seafood like octopus.

I’ve bought from them: several wines, some German beers, hard meats, cheeses, jam, wine glasses, and seafood.

I really love this shop for so many reasons! To start, they have a huge selection of wines, spirits, cordials, and tonics from all over the world and it’s so interesting to see and read about them all.
In addition to the obvious selections, The Bottle House offers cheeses, garnishes, snacking items, kitchen tools and more. This little shop has almost anything you could ever need drink-wise and they even have a selection of Alcohol-free spirits and wines.
I highly recommend this hidden gem for anyone looking to find a new cocktail to try out or to support a local business in the Charlottesville area!

Interesting selection, super friendly and knowledgeable staff. I wish this was my neighborhood wine shop. They have an excellent selection of natural/biodynamic wine if you are looking for that, as well as solid charcuterie supplies and bitters.

Definitely stop by! This place is adorable and the owner was a delight! They not only have a great selection of wine, but beer, mixers, infusions, bitters, chocolate, pickles, cheeses, meats and so much more! We stopped by while we were taking a little stroll on Main Street and we're so happy that we did. The owner was able to tell us about the companies, brands and products that we were looking at which only added to the experience. We were very delighted when he was ringing us up and mentioned that the products that we were purchasing was from a woman company. They had a great selection in their refrigerators if you're looking for something on the spot to enjoy somewhere. A lot of their products had information cards located next to them as well that were super cute and helped you in knowing how the products could be use. Make sure you stop by and support!

I am in Texas and needed 4 gifts delivered to 4 different address. Louie at Bottle House, not only helped me select my bottles but arranged them to be gift wrapped with notes and delivered! Thank you for making my life easier and providing such wonderful service!

Great selection of quality wines (that differs from other local shops) in an inviting storefront. Online purchase option is a cinch and local delivery went above and beyond expectation. Highly recommend.

I was quite impressed by the wine knowledge of the staff there. My initial intention was to buy some charcuterie but I stayed for the wine tasting because of the education.

Bottle House is a fabulous addition to Main St in Charlottesville. The wine selection is top notch and at least one owner is usually onsite, though we almost always see them both. They're both extremely knowledgeable and will help you find the perfect bottle(s) if you aren't exactly sure what you're looking for. If you do walk in with a purpose, don't be afraid to ask for future recommendations. Once they know your palate, the recommendations start flowing so fast you'll need a personal stenographer at your side so you don't miss a single note.

Also, don't sleep on the cheese, tinned fish, pickled goodies and charcuterie in the back of the store. There are some unique and delicious finds!

If visiting the shop isn't doable, they deliver! Oh and btw, they also have a solid selection of beer if wine isn't your thing.
