Gelson's Laguna Beach

Absolutely loved this store. Steve, the owner or manager, is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He did such a great job in selecting the highest quality food, brands and products. Heartbroken this store is closing. They carried organic, hard to find items similar to Whole Foods but this space felt a little more spacious and airy.

Gelson’s Laguna Beach (California) across historic Coast Highway from the upscale Montage Hotel is the epitome of what a high-end super market should be. It gets FIVE STARS from me. This particular Gelson’s also deserves Gold stars in customer service, deli selection, wines, beverages and produce. I’m from Pasadena (California) and we no longer have a Gelson’s. So when I’m in Laguna Beach for the summer or on a weekend, this Gelson’s is a must-visit for all of my food and beverage needs. They have even made my Thanksgiving dinner the last five years, and it’s been delicious. I’ve read some negative reviews here and it’s always possible the people who are writing them are perfectionists. Nothing will ever make them happy. And that’s okay. They can go and shop at Ralph’s in Laguna Beach which is geared more toward a lower type of clientele. But if you’re looking for superior customer service and a food selection of which is second to none, Gelson’s Laguna Beach across from the Montage is the place to shop!

Extremely clean store and perfectly displayed merchandise! Very friendly and helpful staff, and both Holiday meals I ordered were fantastic.

In the front of your beautiful specialty Market ! I love to see my healthy food, before I buy it ! Then, I know exactly what I'm getting & you don't have to wait to eat ! Inside the beautiful French Doors is a beautiful Fireplace & lovey Lunch room ! Amazing on a rainy day, if we ever get any more rain ! I don't eat in reataurants anymore, being disappointed with the service, the waiting, the noise of Chatty Kathy's, the food usually & @ your Gelsons you cut out the irritating middle Men & then, I'm on my way & am happy & on with my busy life! Tks. My cup of tea, for sure ! Oh, water the potted plants, please ! They're so dry !
I'm an avid Gardener ! They need Miracle Gro ! Every week ! The pots are magnificent !

It's always very clean and the aisles are very wide and it's a pleasure to shop there. Although the prices are astronomical, the quality of their food is very good.

I realize this store is closing but the staff is exceptional. I hope you find spots at other stores for them.

That a potentially terrible mistake was in the making but the manager in charge of the Thanksgiving meal kits made it right and went above and beyond my expectations and saved us from what was already a sad Thanksgiving and made it one where when i got back home I was more grateful than I was when I left to go there.

The best grocery store. The cooked food is better restaurant. The wine tastes the best.

Wide aisles, well stocked, clean and neatly organized, lots of great Gelson's speciality items in deli, meat dept, and includes a Starbucks business in the store. Lots of out of sun parking below the store.

Store is always neat and clean, shelves have been fronted so products are easy to find. Good selection and the front end help is always professional and pleasant.

Noticeably high levels of customer satisfaction from staff, from selection of products, per cleanliness, etc. Yes, the product prices are slightly higher than Ralphs down the road, but—You get what you pay for.
