Super cool little store in Alameda, off of one of the main roads leading in. Mostly a store for magic, but I’ve seen DnD in the back on Thursday. The owner Ben is very cool and drafted commander masters with us. It’s nice having a store where the owner is involved.

I came by with my son yesterday to purchase some Pokemon cards and it was a really cool experience for him. The both of us are new to Pokemon cards but the guys behind the counter were super helpful and nice. Definitely will come again.

D20 is a comfortable, friendly game shop with some of the most welcoming, kind staff. I've stopped in a few times now to buy cards, check out their events, and just chit-chat if I'm in the neighborhood.

The store carries a comparably large selection of Magic: the Gathering and other TCG products, so if you're looking for older sealed product from years past, definitely give them a call.

Nestled on a busy block in downtown Alameda, D20 makes the best of a modest amount of space, featuring a well-curated counter of Trading Card Game items, a sizable shelf of roleplaying game books, and a handful of recent board game releases, in addition to accommodating tables for events that happen almost every night of the week.

Not sure what other reviewers complaining of price scalping are talking about. In-store TCG singles prices are comparable to other LGSs, and well-manicured—I'm normally able to find almost everything on my list. TCG price grumblers beget grumbles, I suppose.

As mentioned, the staff here are incredibly welcoming, helpful, and kind—notably they are patient with kids, especially younger children who are there for events. Everyone I have had the joy to talk with has been abundantly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the games they carry, always amiably greeting everyone who walks through the door and answering questions from novices like myself uncondescendingly.

Charming store; charming staff. Go here to get what you need before shopping online.

An awesome store to discover tabletop games, Magic & Pokemon cards. Ben, the owner, is engaging to customers, recommending stuff in an honest and genuine way, not just to make a sale. There's a lot going on in the store... People setup on tables, playing their own games, or demo games. It's a little cluttered, but shouldn't take away from your shopping or browsing experience. I found it rewarding once I was able to dig through stuff to find what I was looking for. It's in a nice neighborhood in Alameda. Street parking is enough, even on a busy weekend.

D20 is a fantastic game store with a nice, casual vibe. Of all the game stores I've been too, it's the one where I feel least awkward about going to mtg tournaments as a woman. Ben always has great recommendations for relatively obscure board games as well.

D20 is one of the best LGS's in the Bay. Been a patron for the last decade, and Ben (the owner) has never failed to cultivate a stellar play experience.

From weekly leagues for Pokémon, D&D meetups, to weekly Friday Night Magic, they have it all and more. Plenty of board games as well if the card games aren't your style, and recommendations on anything in the store from Ben, who had definitely played everything.

My son has come here over the past few years to play Pokemon on Saturdays. The group of players who all flock here are extremely helpful, friendly, and eager to learn more about Pokemon. If you're just starting out in Pokemon, just let the owner know when you sign up. The other kids and adults who participate are more than happy to help train and coach until you're ready to play on your own.

Helpful staff, community vibe. There was a group of well-behaved teenagers nerding out about D&D while me and my late thirty-something date played Magic at the tables in the back. I will come here again to purchase more cards, for sure. Good find.

D20 is the best place to shop for tabletop gaming supplies and for building community in the ttrpg gaming world. The prices are great and the staff are knowledgeable about their craft.

Alameda's local game store, specializing in board games and card games. Very friendly atmosphere where people of all ages can come, relax, and play games without a screen. The owner, Ben, is sure to take great care of you by giving suggestion based on you interests/needs/and budget.

This is the kind of local business I want to support. Ben, the owner, is very knowledgeable about board games, card games, classic games, and newly released games. He can help you find a game you might like, or help you choose something appropriate for your giftee. There are games for all ages, from games for pre-readers through adults.

The store has "tester" copies of most games, and tables to play them.

On Friday night, there is always a Friday Night Magic event, for playing Magic The Gathering. The store emphasizes friendly play and helping new players learn the game at all but a few events (which are designated as competitive events). D20 has a variety of Magic products, from cards to limited edition releases to accessories like dice and play mats.

I am a regular Magic gamer who comes to D20 often and I really think that the environment is great. The store owner, Ben, is patient and is really in to interacting with the players, and its obvious he's passionate about what he does and that he's not interested only in the money. If you're in the Alameda area, I highly recommend coming here.

Great place to buy and play games. The collection is curated well and the owner lets you try some of games if you're curious whether you'll like it. They have tables for playing card games and D&D..

D20 games is a nice place to play magic during the week and meet people who share common interests. The owner Ben is a very friendly guy and works hard for the store. If you're looking for a place to play FNM or weekend events, D20 is definitely a place to play locally.

This is a game store with heart! The owner is passionate, considerate, and quick to help you find the right game or gift.

He's also building community, and opens up his space for kids and adults to play games there. This is a real treasure for Alameda.

A great place to find a new game. The owner stocks a variety of games, and he can help you if you need recommendations. The last time I went there, he let me try out a new game in the store before buying so that I could be sure it was a game that I'd enjoy. I'm glad this business is part of Alameda!

I stopped into D20 this morning with my 8 year old nephew. He usually talks at me a mile a minute about Pokémon and it’s all Greek to me, so I was super thrilled to find a place with people who speak that language.

Healy was at the counter and was incredible. She’s passionate about Pokémon (and Magic and D&D, it turns out) and got my nephew set up with a Pokémon starter deck. She then introduced him to Julian for a game primer and he was really patient and encouraging as he got the kid up to speed. After that, my nephew had the time of his life in the Saturday morning Pokémon tourney playing with other kids who love it as much as he does. I loved it too—I sat on the couch and enjoyed some quiet time!

D20 provide a wonderful environment and welcoming community for the neighborhood kids... thank you! I can’t recommend D20 enough!

Friendly, low-key, socially responsible store. Check out Ben’s website and blog for a good sense of the philosophy and ethics behind this place. My stepson loves it, and I'm happy to give them our business.
