We had a fantastic experience renting a kayak from Joe and Lisa in Bokeelia. Their equipment was well-maintained, and they provided all the info we needed. Also the waterfront location added to the charm, making it a memorable outing. Joe and Lisa's friendly service and reasonable prices make them my go-to choice for kayak rentals in the area! Highly recommended.

Carmen's Kayaks set up a great day of kayaking for me and my son and grandaughter. All went well, newer kayaks, easy access, helpful staff, easy parking too. Fun day Thank you..

Loved our kayak excursion! We showed up with no reservation on New Year's Day and they set us up with 3 Kayaks for a 2 hour paddle. They provided us with a map of the area and we set off around Calusa Island. Tons of birds and a visit from a dolphin as we arrived back to the boat launch. Amazing - will be back on future visits for sure.

10/10 would recommend Carmen's Kayaks. Joe and Lisa have such a passion for the area and their passion is passed onto their clients. We had a blast fishing (caught a bunch) and learning about the local ecosystems. We also took the Eco Tour and learned so much about the long history of this area.

I've heard great things about renting from Carmen's Kayaks, and would rent from them if I had the need. I have my own kayak and launching from this site has been on my list; so happy to have the chance 4/15/2024! Lisa the owner met our group, made us all feel welcome, offered suggestions, and even helped me offload my kayak! She was there when we returned and helped us as needed. We paddled around Calusa Island; the weather was perfect, and the water was smooth-couldn't have asked for a better day.

Can you say private tour at group rates! Great educational tour.. When you get in the water, you have an opportunity to get your sea legs in shallow water before you head out to open water. Made a stop at Calusa island. It's a great place to have a picnic and drink some water. Time to reapply sunscreen. Next time we will try the fishing kayaks can't wait.

My hubby and I had a wonderful kayaking experience in the sound at Matlacha. We rented kayaks from Carmen and she made great suggestions for the location. Ellis met us at the private launch with the kayaks, provided us with a map and we were off. We paddled across the sound, explored around the islands, went through a mangrove tunnel, and enjoyed the peacefulness of hidden ponds. We saw herons, terns, and a trio of pink spoonbills put on a show for us. When we were ready to go back, we texted Ellis and he met us back at the launch.
I highly recommend Carmen's Kayaks. Carmen and Ellis are super nice folks and aim to please their customers. Our day couldn't have been any better!

Amazing experience today! Carmen was great to squeeze me in and Ellis was a fantastic tour guide. The kayaking was so easy your grandma can probably do it. Calm waters, beautiful scenery, and if you're lucky enough to grab it...a pretty cool airbnb location (but 🤫, I already said too much...)

I sidled up to Carmen's on a vacation mission, and I don't plan out my vacations. Therefore, I had not called ahead or made an appointment, which you typically need to rent a kayak.

Since it was only myself though, and because I caught them at a good time, the ladies helped me get on the water for four blissful hours, and were very accommodating. Becca especially was outstanding. What I paid for a non-pedal, self-paddle yak was shockingly low, $10 per hr for 4 hours, all told. That includes $5 that covers your parking and kayak put-in.
I would have probably paid as much as triple that for the experience of paddling Bokeelia.

Thanks to Carmen's, and I strongly direct you all to them if you have the chance when in the area.

Been here a couple times with small groups. Lisa and All the helpers have been very gracious and helpful. Yesterday I got good advice on how best to carry my kayak, and how to use a patch on an area slightly worn. Thanks for everything!

Extremely easy to work with, we send her a message the night before and were able to get a convenient slip in in between her tours. We had tons of fun kayaking around the small islands! We hunted through the mangroves to small ponds, cut across the water around the islands to see dolphins and realized later that those big dark spots at the bottom were manatees, not rocks... :-)

Carmen's is right on the water. You get a map of the layout of area. Laid back and beautiful trip. I would recommend her over the other choices I had looked at. Great interaction with Carmen and experience.

As soon as we arrived, we were cheerfully greeted and provided great instruction for the trip. The kayaks were ready to go with a laminated map that included wildlife images to look out for on the trip, and a dry bag to use for our phones so we could take pictures. The trip was lovely. We saw dolphins, crabs, heron and sea birds - very cool! They guided us back in when finished. Highly recommend Carmen’s Kayaks!
