This guy has some really good slabs, if your looking for that wood to complete a piece of furniture in your home or office or you want to be inspired by the amazing locally grown and felled lumber then this is the place for you. After talking to him for a bit I found out that most of the wood comes with a good story free of charge. Do yourself a favor and check him out his prices are good and the wood is amazing. I was needing a custom tabletop to mount on an existing base and some friends referred me to Darryl. I selected 2 slabs from a 150 year old white oak tree. An architect provided CNG drawings for the design that would fit within the footprint of a custom light fixture. The resulting table was beautiful. The surfaces were finished with a satin sealer that enhanced the natural beauty of the wood.

I had so much fun working with Daryll. I had a vague notion of what I wanted, which was to find unusual pieces for my living room that could not be bought in a furniture store. Daryll helped me find exactly what I was looking for, and his knowledge and ideas helped to solidify my choices. In addition to shelving he made for a mantle, he made two very unique tables. He also made a piece for the top of my washer/dryer, so stray clothing would not fall behind. The best part was digging around in his barn where there are loads of hidden treasures. He turned a piece of scrap maple I found in a corner into a beautiful and unique table. Daryll is not only passionate and knowledgeable about what he does, he is a perfectionist. His quality of work is excellent. I cannot say enough about his work. You will not be disappointed.

If you are looking for "Premium" Live Edge Slabs, then you have to take a drive to see Daryl at Urban Timber Supply. I made a 2 1/2 hours drive and it was a WELL WORTH drive. Daryl has slabs from trees over 200 years old and the wood grain is out of this world. I purchase an 8ft Walnut slab and I can't wait to see how my wife's table going to look. I am very happy to find my local sawmill!!!!

What an incredible place! The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and helped me choose the right slab for my project. He shared some insight on getting the results I wanted and recommended the right products to get it done. I walked away with a beautiful piece of walnut and a deeper appreciation for his craft. I'll post an update when my project is done. Dont bother shopping around, this is the only place you need to go.

Not only is Darrell extremely nice and friendly. He has an incredible wealth of knowledge about wood working that he shared with me and made me feel 110% more confident about my project. Definitely would reccomend this place to everyone. Thank you D!
