Brown Books & More

This is a unique Book store experience. It is family owned and minority inspired and stocked. You can buy books here, food, accessories for your desk and attire. The store is all about community and activities to help bring people together. You can also book the place for small events.

This is a really cool book store. Certainly a great selection of books to choose from and their lunch plates are not only healthy but also very delicious. Try one of the chicken salad combos or soup if your in the area.

Brown Books and More inspired my girls in such a unique way. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Peach Cobbler was amazing along with the chicken salad on a croissant which is delicious! I highly recommend a visit or two or three. I’ve gone back twice this week myself.

Great little local book store! Incredibly friendly, welcoming owner in a very relaxed, comfortable environment. Looking forward to trying the coffee and smoothies next time.

I love this shop so much!🥰 Janelle is incredible - she knows her inventory inside and out, makes great recommendations, and you can just tell she really enjoys interacting with her customers! There are spaces to sit and read your new treasures, a conference room, and a coffee/smoothie bar in the back. (Every coffee and smoothie I’ve tried has been great and way more reasonable priced than big coffee chains.)
This is a smaller shop so don’t expect room after room of disorganized books. This shop is well organized, well lit, cozy and welcoming. I love it!

This bookstore is an amazing gem in the city of Decatur. It has an awesome selection of books, planners, and children's book. The decor and environment feels like home. Also, the lunch special and smoothies are AMAZING! If you get the chance! Please stop by and check it out! The owner is also so sweet and helpful!

Brown Books & More is definitely that “Community Book Store” that is relatable to the members of the Decatur Community, but can also affect the surrounding areas in a positive way. A lot of artist stop by not only to visit, but also sign books and interact with readers! The owner treats every customer with the most welcoming and inviting atmosphere for reading. The refreshments area and reading room is a bonus and makes this spot a great one to stop by on your lunch break for a great read!

Pardon my long review, but I must express my appreciation! I, literally, scoured the country looking for a particular (...and very expensive) book on special education and black boys. Due to the low production, the book was very difficult to find. Before I reached out to Brown Books & More, I had already paid for the book I was looking for at another online vendor, and NEVER received this very expensive book. So - at the time I reached out to Brown Books & More, I was burned with a past experience - yet, still very determined to get this darn book! I noticed online that BB&M had the book in stock. I called to make sure they had the book. Not only did Janelle confirm they had the book I was looking for, she also mentioned they had another book by the same author (that particular book I could not seem find in availability AT ALL). I was SO relived to: 1) find the book, 2) TALK to someone who decreased my fear of a "stranger" taking my money for the second time, and 3) be able to purchase the additional book that was out of print, altogether. I do not live in the same state as Brown Books and More; my order was purely an online purchase. Let me tell you: the next morning, I received a tracking number for my purchase (again, relief) and within two days, I held both books in my hands! I opened the package and I loved how my books were wrapped with a beautiful black and white gifting wrap!! I loved my card, thank you note, and receipt - with a few book marks and goodies in the envelope. Just an awesome experience. Honestly, I was emotional with having the materials I need to help my son. I was emotional with the care and details of simply opening the package. It was as if she knew what I had been through to get these materials. I purchase a lot of books off Amazon and will be redirecting my energy to support Brown Books and More. A heartfelt thank you - for ALL THAT YOU DO!!!!

Every visit to Brown Books & More has been a great experience. There is always something going on that is relivent to the community, and I can count on a recommendation for a read. Very professional and knowledgeable staff.

Brown Books & More has a great selection of books, inviting atmosphere, and appeals to all ages. The cafe area is quaint and the reading rooms are super cute and cozy. It's the perfect place happy place.

An exemplary business model here - every detail, especially a space for every person, any age, has been so seriously considered, yet looks like it effortlessly fell in place. This is how bookstores became parts of the community long ago - think of Lemuria in Jackson or the Book Cove in Pawling Village, New York. Congratulations!

We had our Girl talk back to school movie their the the service was excellent a loving environment very friendly & courteous.....the girl really enjoyed it there Thanks again for allowing us to be there and great environment all around great customer service 🙂💖
