Great local butcher with competitive prices. When things go on sale you can get some great buys here. Staff is friendly and if you have a special request, they can walk 20' and ask the butcher who is cutting the meat. It doesn't get any better than that.

Fresh products, very nice people.

My wife and I have been buying our meat from Wayne Nell and Sons for years. The quality is second to none. There is nothing better than local raised beef and pork in my opinion. They are always busy. The staff are always polite and courteous. You can't go wrong buying your meat here, it's far above and beyond any supermarket's product. Stop in and support local folks I'm sure they will be glad to see you.

Great meat selection, super fresh, good prices.

The staff are wonderful. Best quality meats i've found. I go out of my way to give them my business. My dogs especially love their smoked beef bones. I smoke a lot of meats and when I want a special cut of pork or beef they always come through. Worth the drive!!!

We called in for 2 beef heads and tongues and they were so kind and quick. Place was clean and staff was friendly and attentive.

Quality meats and efficient service

Top quality ham. Never overly salty and excellent flavor. Chipped ham also best quality.

We take 30 hams and 50 bacon up on the day before a major holiday. The are there with open arms ready for us. The know us by name. Excellent customer service. 👌

Moved to Va. several years ago. Can,t find a good butcher shop anywhere. Have a friend bringing puddin and hotdogs from York Co. where I was born n raised. Tried puddin from another shop up there and wasn,t satisfied with the taste. Had my friend get some of Nells puddin and bring it down. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! Best I ever had. Going to be a lot of puddin heading south from here on. Thanks Nell’s for bringing a little bit of York Co. quality to Bassett Va.

Good service. Always full of people going to Nell's to get good quality meats! Their staff is very knowledgeable, & they are helpful & proficient when serving the patrons that come into their store. Very clean butchering shop. Excellent prime cut meats!

Solid spot, very very clean, props to that. Will make custom cuts if you ask and wait, so get a tri-tip! Great spot. Good house made bacon, great prompt and friendly service. Check them out.
