This place is AMAZING! I randomly decided to pay a visit and had such a great time! Every book I was looking for was there and more. I got shirts and a sweatshirt that I love! Everything is well organized and the founder is so kind and patient! I cannot wait ti go back.

Amazing vibe! I enjoyed attending a business mixer at this location and it was very nice! The artwork was awesome, a very talented artist. The owner was nice, she told us about speak easy events and game nights that are also hosted there. Me and my family will be returning. Go check it out, you won’t be disappointed & you will appreciate the literature & the atmosphere!!

This is the number one black library in dallas that I recommend. You can host events, find your favorite author, look at dope artists and overall great music. The founder is amazing and I wish nothing but the best for this entire establishment. I highly recommend.

I attended a poetry open mic and writing workshop at this black owned bookstore, and the environment was welcoming and filled with hospitality. The art work was for sale and I loved it all I even bought a piece. The paintings were very affordable along with the books. Please support this business

I had a lovely experience visiting the space for the first time. It's pretty inside and smells amazing and there were so many book options. I wasn't planning on purchasing my first time going in, but this book called my name😍 I ended up reading it infront of the shelf and just went ahead and walked it over to the register lol and I got a free bookmark! Love that for me haha

This is the best bookstore!! I looooove the atmosphere here. It’s always peaceful and a safe space to check out books or any of their various events held. I usually check out their instagram for updates on their events. You should too!!

Our first visit to BLACKLIT Saturday felt like home. We three bibliophiles found engaging books and other items to whet our appetites. Pictured is my haul.

The atmosphere and the owner were bright and equally welcoming.

We"ll return for sure!

This place is amazing. One of three black owned bookshops in the DFW, and the most recent. It provides a new vital space for the community.

This little book shop, BookLit, is the slice of bookstore heaven I’ve been waiting for! The openness of the shop is as inviting as Nias smile and the book selection is made up of must reads and best sellers. My favorite is the children’s book selection but I admit my bias, I collect Black children’s books. Stop by, you won’t be sorry ❤

Such A safe space. The moment I walked in I felt seen. At open mic people share such moving testimonies. In bible study I’m able to connect with others in our pursuit of god. An example of black excellence much needed in every community.

There’s so much to unpack about this spot. It felt like coming home after I hard day. Recently, I attended a poetry slam/spoken word/artist showcase event and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere is so inviting and the humble owner is so infectious. Her story about how BlackLit came to be is so inspiring. The title BlackLit has so much meaning behind it and I was in awe to be part of the history by supporting. I highly recommend to everyone to check out this place/home/village to witness the beauty behind the title.

Beautiful space. Warm customer service. Nice selection of books and products. The art was beautiful and I plan to visit again soon to support the art. I saw an associate from St. Louis book he illustrated so that was great to see.

This place keeps casually changing my life. From the books they choose to source, to the original artwork for sale, to the ample amount of space to come in and work, to the extraordinary events to the interactive workshops they facilitate -- this is the place to be for creatives in the DFW area!
