If you live in Lochmere, or near Waverly Place or in Regency, or anywhere in Cary really, there is no reason not to refill your soaps, lotions, and shampoo at this place! Bring your own glass containers (or use donated containers at the store) and refill what you need!

They have soap bars, shampoo bars, candles, bamboo toothbrushes with compostable packaging, compostable bags, plastic-free kids items, dispensable dish soap, Castile soap, toothpaste tablets, bamboo hair brushes, wooden coasters and so many other things!

Why go plastic free? Because plastic is toxic, it causes infertility, hormone disruptions, thyroid issues, cancers! Avoid as much as possible! Don’t buy polyester, rayon, spandex clothes - you are wearing plastic and it’s going to affect your health and not in a good way. Additionally, plastic virtually doesn’t decompose at all. Our oceans and land are full of it, birds inadvertently feed plastic to their babies with food, and those babies are doomed. They die a horrendous death because their tummies are full of plastic since they are unable to expel it out of their stomachs.

Mindful Merchant is such a wonderful store, owned by a lovely local family. They have items for everyone! I got an adorable little pan scrubber, a gift for a friend, some books and crayons for our daughter, and some bamboo cooking utensils. They have lots of cute gift items. I can’t wait to bring my friend and parents here when they visit!
It’s in the Lochmere Pavilion, with plenty of free parking, right next to one of my favorite coffee shops, Java Jive. Get a coffee and then swing by! You’ll love it!

So glad to have a zero waste shop in our area. The mindful merchant makes it so much easier to reduce our environmental impact. Every time I come in I find something fun and new to try. So far, my favorites are their plant-based toilet paper (much softer than a previous bamboo toilet paper brand we tried) and the reusable paper towels. I've also found some wonderful gifts in the shop like The healing hand balm, and greeting cards embedded with seeds. They've done a great job setting up the store, creating an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere for browsing and shopping. Highly recommend this shop!

Really well curated store. It does a great job of balancing the practical— sustainable goods to get you started in your home immediately such as soap and lotion refills— and gift-giving ideas. Glad it’s so close to us.

Wonderful store and owners! So glad that they care so much about our environment that they opened a beautiful store, and offer smart environment friendly products, like sunscreen, shampoo, lotion in bulk, dish cleaning soap bar with brush and replacement heads, stain remover bar that does wonders, produce bags, reusable paper towels, and so much more. Lots of great gifts for anyone! Ditch the plastic and shop here instead!

Love coming here, the sustainability is amazing and the staff is always pleasant. I have bought many gifts from them and I especially love their soaps. Everything is reasonably priced and I highly recommend.

An amazing eco-friendly store with more zero waste alternatives than you could ask for! From local loose leaf tea, to a lovely kid section they have everything you need to begin and maintain a mindful, sustainable, and healthier life. I am located an hour away and it is always worth the drive.

The selection in this store of low and zero waste products is amazing! We bought solid shampoo bars and a bar of soap. We then got help with the refill station to get some lotion and shampoo. The prices are very reasonable and the service was nice and friendly.

Couldn’t be more grateful to have a refill store in town! Loved the shampoo and cannot wait to try out the conditioner next time. It’s not only refills though! I purchased some new cloths and laundry detergent and love them both. Mindful Merchant will be seeing me on the regular! It was my first time stopping by! I drove from over an hour away with no expectation on how my experience would be. Everything inside was beautiful. The lady working was very kind and helped explain how filling up the products works. The prices for everything were affordable and I’m very excited to return in the future!

Finally got to visit this store and it was awesome! This store makes it so easy to ditch plastic and be more environmentally friendly. All of the products I have used have been great.
