2nd Ave Thrift Superstore - Union, NJ

If you think that going to a thrift store is a nightmare due to the strong smell and stuff all over the place, then you should visit this store in Union New Jersey.

At first, I thought I was getting into a Wal-Mart but with lower prices. This store is great in terms of prices, cleaning and organization. It was quite a nice surprise, and the clothing and other stuff they offer there are on pristine conditions.

I strongly recommend it.

I had a great experience here! The store and all of the items were totally clean. There’s a huge selection, especially of women’s clothes. Everything is well sorted by type, size, and color of tag. The women’s tops were great! The dressing rooms were spacious and super clean. My only complaint is that some of the prices, especially for fast fashion brands like Shein, are similar to what the items likely originally sold for. They have great color tag sales though!

I love the prices but like other reviewers, I dislike the people who sit next to the door and attack the new merchandise. Once a lady came up to me to convince me not to buy my item telling me the one she bought before was broken. 6 feet lady! Handy woman here. 5 stars for things found here and clean store

One of my favorite thrift store each time I went to visit family always stop there love everything about it ,the staff are very helpful and kind price not bad for me at all I give them 100********************** I shop there very often once again of my favorite thrift store

The atmosphere of this store is amazing. The friendliest staff of any thift store I've ever been to. Probably because their employees actually have benefits. This store is absolutely beautiful. Very inviting. The store is clean and organized (save the toy section, but thats to be expected). The air smells good. Great ventalation. Really good stuff. Better than other places. They have a free rewards system. The employees are always nice and helpful. They also give their employees benefits and fair wages. And if I have to pay a few pennies more for friendly employees with benefits, a good HVAC system that gives clean air, an organized store, and great items, then I will happily pay more, because those things are priceless. Hours are great. They open early, and close late, even on Sundays. So I always have time to go there for a little shopping. I always go out of my way to give all my best donations to Green Drop, because I know they will end up going where they rightfully belong.

The only things I don't like are that there is way too much clothing. Takes up about 75% of the store. And they don't have much large sizes of anything. And there are vultures who wait in the back by the doors, and snatch up everything to resell before they even make it to the floor. They need to impose strict rules against that. I understand that they are just trying to make a living, and the store is trying to sell stuff as quickly as possible. But that's a very minor annoyance compared to other thrift stores, such as myunique. I would rather get a root canal than shop at myunique.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, I have been to other thrift stores that have really cheap prices, but the stores are awful. The stores are disorganized, the employees are mean jerks (myunique thrift), the air is stale, and there's nothing worth even buying. I just want to get out of these as soon as possible (except myunique, I would never step foot in that store again). You really get what you pay for at 2nd Ave. An ultimately nice shopping experience.

The store is always neat and organized. If you're a regular thrifter you know how important this is. They organize their books by subject too which is great. The product selection is hit or miss but they're relying both on quality of donations and staff availability to put out new stock, so that doesn't cause them to lose any points in my book. I've never left this place without finding at least one thing. In fact I've found plenty of great items here in my visits. I love the guy who works behind the counter too. He's so charismatic and really cares about the customers and making sure we can see the items they have behind the counter.

I always have a great time here browsing the aisles to find new interesting things.

Very crowded and fitting room is closed. 50 percent discount and I was able to buy 5 beautiful dresses. A great day

An awesome thrift store! A big variety of items. The the rewards program! Been to both locations, Hamilton and Union. Union is my favorite!

I love this store, where I find the decoration that I love at good prices, I find vintage pieces and pieces to decorate my Farmhouse style house. The store is well organized, clean… I love it, I love it. I recommend it 100%.

Nice selection of items with decent pricing to boot. It has the feel of a Goodwill but better pricing on clothes in my opinion. Great staff and clean store.

My fave store. Put it this way: it was literally the first store I went to once I felt comfortable going to stores again when Covid died down. It gets pretty picked over by various Amazon resellers (the book scanner people) but still a nice experience overall. Especially if you are not one of the reseller people whom camps out there and just enjoy browsing for cool stuff. I find a lot of clothes and random housewares. Nice!

Great place friendly staff, amazing selection it just smells a little bit

The Procurement Queen family always have a positive experience, the staff is helpful the store is organized. Our favorite time to shop is around a major holiday such as 4th of July when all clothing is 50% off. It is an adventure shopping there we always find designer labels for cheap. I give me kids a budget like $10 each to see how many items they can buy.

We love this store go check it out if you are in the area.

They had a sale by color of tag, and I got this for $7. A pair of jeans in mint condition (one wash by water only because I noticed over all starch).

Excellent store! Super clean, well organized and always treasures to be found throughout the shelves! The employees are so sweet and helpful. If you're lucky, on some days there are guys that stand by the back by the door that the employees roll the stuff out of who help the employees with emptying the cart and who are more than willing to help with the larger items! These guys are so sweet and ready to strike up a conversation!

I went in to get gift cards for my wife and daughter, the place was great. Well lit, clean, and impeccably organized! I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was inside. It is very spacious and bright. Not just your average dingy drab thrift store! Enjoy the variety!

Store manager, Al Anderson and his team continue to do a great job in this, “my favorite” place in Union to shop. He and his whole team maintain the high level of customer service that I look for. And, the friendliness too!

The store is Always neat, clean an so well organized. I love your 2 color discount system, and I love the fact that the merchandise is clean.

Recently, I wrote a letter acknowledging several employees by name who I appreciate, Yvette, Tasha, Peter and Pam. I would like to add Denise and Maritza to that list. I am certain as I continue to shop at 2nd Ave (which I have done since the very day it opened) many more names will be added to my list.

In love with the staff! Her name is gail! She is so sweet and beautiful! She is a bright a pure person! I come to this thrift store and I always lighten up when I see her! She is so amazing! She honestly deserves a raise. She is so precious and kind hearted!! And she makes conversations with you and has a interest in her job! :) this woman is amazing 💗💗

I almost don't want to say how great this place is for fear that it will become more popular. Very large and very well organized store. Staff is friendly, Great pricing, VIP app with regular discounts and promotional discounts. And it doesn't really matter what time you go because they are continuously restocking the shelves all day long. Umm... I mean this place sucks you shouldn't ever go there.

I went here today and did some shopping and got good quality clothes among other things. The prices were great and the place was not crowded at the checkout or in the changing room.
They really do have some good quality stuff.
