I'm very greatful to have a fly shop in the area. There's no other game in town and Freddy and the team there are great. He has a great inventory for fly fishing and tying and everyone is very knowledgable and seem eager to teach newcomers to the sport.

Definitely worth the drive from wherever you are. Huge selection of fly tying components (never seen more in one place), rods, waders, and anything else fly fishing related. Told them I was very new to flies and was given helpful advice on which flies to try and also some fish handling and seasonal conservation related information I wouldn't have known otherwise. You can tell they love the sport and care about the fish.

This is a fantastic shop to stop in and get some great advice and products. The staff is incredibly helpful and informative. I have the pleasure of shopping here when I go fly fishing and Freddy is always willing to help.

I had been skunked for 3 days. Felt like I tried everything. Stopped by here, talked to the guy, picked up a couple flies he mentioned and sure enough, caught 4 fish in the first 30 mins of fishing.

I had a chance to be coached to fly fish by master fisherman and Golden Stone’s owner Fredy. He volunteered to assist beginner fly fisherman with Casting for Recovery; an organization that supports women with breast cancer. Fredy is the real deal. He has fished all over the world, his depth of fishing knowledge is immense, and he’s just a downright nice guy. I wasn’t all that interested in catching a fish until we got in the water. Now I’m hooked!!! I met some amazing women who are very excited to keep fishing and we are planning a trip to the shop to get our gear! Thanks Fredy. You’re a rock star!. Maybe we’ll catch you at that top secret fishing spot!

From the staff, products, and the guides Golden Stone outfitters is fantastic. Just a few guided trips and speaking with the staff in the shop, my knowledge of fly fishing has increased rapidly. Thank you GSO.

This is a great shop that carries a wide range of products including, but definitely not limited to Orvis. Also tons of fly tying supplies and outdoor clothing. The shop is modern, clean, and extremely well organized. The current stream conditions (flow rates, etc.) are electronically displayed. The shop also gives a 10% discount to first responders, military, TU, and I believe students.
The shop owner was extremely knowledgeable, particularly on the fishing opportunities in NJ and NE PA, and he suggested some good place to try for winter trout. While I was there a relatively new fisherman (by his admission) came in and was given the best most concise instruction on indicator fishing (depth selection and when and how to know when to adjust).
I bought a couple Fulling Mill fly boxes, a Orvis Hydros fly reel, with Scientific Angler fly line. The shop owner put the line on the reel with backing, which is standard for most shops. I mention that only because the selection of backing colors were really cool and instead of the normal tan, I got red, white and blue backing.

Fredy is the most knowledgeable person on fly fishing and goes out of his way to provide the best products to achieve success on the water whether it be giving advice for the best gear or by giving tips for the best flies to match the hatch. I continue to give Fred business every week because of the variety of high quality products he has and how he goes out of his way to help a fellow fisherman. By far the BEST fly shop in the state

Great experience with Fredy at golden stone. I went in looking for a second fly rod set up. Fredy was very knowledgeable about the product and went through all the options with me , explaining the differences and answering my many questions. The selection was great and I walked out with a beautiful set up. It was truly a great experience that will make me a lifelong customer.

The owner is a true trout fisherman. Loves to regale you with stories, which also educate you on his personal techniques. Go in have a chat, buy some gear. Support this local business. I’ve been on the hunt for a pair of women’s waders for quite some time now, but didn’t want to purchase online since I didn’t want to deal with wait times for sending returns/exchanges in the mail. I found this store through the Orvis website yesterday, crossed my fingers, and called asking if they had any available..and they did! I asked if he could put them aside until I got out of work today, and the man on the phone kindly did! Fast forward to today — I drove the 1hr and 15 min from work and hoped for the best. I walked in, told him my name and the gentleman —Freddy — brought me over to a bench so I could try them on. I brought the pair of wading boots I had bought earlier in the week (from another store) and they ended up being too snug on top of the stocking feet. Luckily, he had a pair of wading boots that fit. After many questions and uncertainty, I ended up deciding to buy the boots as well. Freddy, thank you for all your help and for taking care of this pint-sized fisherwoman! You made my day! All the best on your new store! If/when I need anything else, I’ll be sure to drop in!
