Stuff Etc

I stopped into Stuff on a Saturday and this beautiful blue jumpsuit caught my eye. I didn’t buy it, but couldn’t stop thinking about it. I stopped in on Thursday to try to find it with no luck. I asked one of the staff members if they’ve by chance seen it, and one of them pointed me to a rack they recommended I look through. I found the jumpsuit! But unfortunately they had a bit of trouble finding the tag. The same staff member, Calea (I’m probably spelling that wrong) went out of her way to help me so that I’d be able to go home with the gorgeous blue jumpsuit. Her willingness to go out of her way for a simple piece of clothing really made my whole day. I’m writing this review in hopes that someone sees this and recognizes her for her outstanding customer service.

You can find just about anything in here. Prices have gone up on shoes I noticed which I don't like but watch the dates on tickets because they offer discounts based on how long the item has been there.

This is not your average 2nd hand store. Spacious aisles, clean atmosphere, and a wide variety of items should make this a regular stop on anyone's search for bargains. Merchandise comes and goes so grab it quick. Lots of furniture, clothing, and household items plus lots more.

Great store, really good finds and good prices. They have a really great furniture area.

Stuff Etc is one of my favorite places to go thrifting!! I always find something I want/need when I go there! The merchandise dates for deals are always posted right inside the front door. If an item has a date two months old, it's 50% off!! If an item is three months old, it's 80% off!! The Associates are always helpful and kind if I can't locate something on my list! Since I don't live in Des Moines, I make a point of going there whenever I'm in town! I highly recommend it for all thrifters!!

As a consighnor, I appreciate the responsiveness of the manager. Anyone can have issues, but a true leader will take accountability and work to make things right. This is the attitude that will keep me selling quality items at Stuff Etc, in Clive.

This place has gotten kind of stuffy. Seems that for a consignment store (higher prices than normal 2nd hand stores) that it would be more organized but seems that they have given up on their organizational skills. I'm giving it a 5 star because the person who helped me at the front was so nice.

Always find treasures and spend too much money. Also, great place to buy high quality secondhand clothes. Got my husband a Grunt Style shirt he had been wanting to order for $5.49. It was a stupid good price!!

This is the grandaddy of 2nd hand stores! They get such cool stuff, and they always get new and different stuff. You can't go wrong, because they get deals and steals. They might have really nice furniture, or great clothes? You just never know. You may see something you didn't even know you liked, but don't hold off buying, because stuff goes fast at a place like this! I've missed some really great stuff.

Well organized. Mix of used and new consignments but, mostly used. Consignments are typically higher than a second hand store so this could account for the other reviews indicating prices being high.

The service is always wonderful and they always sell high quality items.
A lady butted in line ahead of me, she didn't ask me if I was first in line, she just kept looking back at me like I wasn't there, and she felt entitled to be ahead of me. I told the cashier that she was rude. The cashier agreed with me.
I didn't say a word, I just waited quietly for my turn.

Great news is I've gotten told that they get furniture, like bedding, chairs, and couches all the time, he said during the summer things come in a bit slow but in the winter business picks up alot more . I actually like this place better than Goodwill

We went looking for some last minute Halloween costumes. We found a few and then other Stuff the kids liked. So we had a nice little shopping trip today. The grandchildren and I found some interesting things at reasonable prices. Left the store with 5 happy children and a not so empty pocket grandma. Lol

This place is amazing, always have a variety, and seems like they rotate out their merchandise every other week. Never disappointed, always walk out with an armful. Totally recommend!

I'm reading the few negative comments and I'm confident that these aren't actual buyers. Stuff CAN be more expensive than other thrifts, but in my extensive full-time-reseller experience, the store I enter in Des Moines on Douglas, I think, is extremely clean, the people professional and the goods of superior quality for marginally more than a typical Goodwill. Incredible high-end furniture can be purchased at superbly low prices. Unlike Goodwill, I'm not aware of the philanthropic aim of Stuff, Inc. The charity they support best is that of each individual consumer who wants higher quality goods at a more than fair price.

A friend told me about this place, so I had to check it out. I was AMAZED. It is a HUGE store (the Clive one anyway), packed FULL of clothes, shoes, mattresses, room decor, lamps, you name it! I definitely bought quite a few items the first time I visited. It's very clean, very organized, and good prices. Also, if an item has been in store for over 2 months its 50% off, and 3 months is 85% off!! I found a huge mirror I LOVED and got it for $11 after the 85%. Amazing. I'm definitely coming back and bringing my family and telling my friends about this place! ♡♡

Love this place, used new clothes and the styles are quite modern. The price is very good too and someday they have sales. Stop by to pick up your new clothes.
