Geckoes Lodge

I’ve stayed at a lot of cool out of the way places all over the world. Geckoes Lodge is, by far, the most incredible place I’ve ever stayed. I rarely go to the same place twice because I like to go to new places on every holiday. My partner and I have decided to come back here every year because it is just so perfect.
I don’t have words to describe how perfect this place is.
Do yourself a favor and book a vacation here. You won’t regret it.
(If you have mobility issues, please rent a car, scooter, ATV, or a golf cart. It is pretty far up into the jungle and the walk from the main road is long. No problem for us but just be aware. It’s worth it.)

We loved our stay. It is a truly unique experience to stay in the jungle in a house without walls. Surprisingly we didn’t have many critters in the house. Just a grasshopper and a few smaller bugs. No spiders.

The house has a well equipped kitchen, a safe, a bathroom including towels and a hairdryer, a big dining table, a huge and comfy bed and a porch with chairs and bar stools to enjoy the nature surrounding you.

We saw sloths, toucans, colibris, agutis and a lot of other animals in the garden. I would 100% recommend staying there!

We stayed 2 weeks and our stay was excellent. Tine and her staff were amazing, giving us privacy but always there when we needed. The caribbean coast is an hidden gem and this place has it all within a short bike ride. We would definetely stay again. Thank you very much!

Our experience at Geckoes was completely out of this world!! It's the perfect place to enjoy costa rican nature (animals, fruit and flower trees, "real" darkness) in a high quality and very cosy house, without hearing any human activity! This said, your are only minutes away from all major services and the most beautiful beaches we have seen. Also, Tine and René were always there to answer all our (many) questions, adapt the house for our family, bring us fresh fruits from the garden and even teach us many things about animals.

We stayed there for 5 weeks with our two children and we would have stayed more ! We will definitely be back :)

Paradise! Don't think - just book it! You won't find anything more heavenly in Costa Rica. Best place we stayed at in CR! Hummingbirds, monkeys, agoutis, frogs... you'll see so much of nature and wildlife, that you'll don't even think about leaving the hammock! will be back soon.

We stayed for 4 days and it was just amazing!! Not to adventurous but still want to be in a hidden nice vibes place? Well gekoes is the answer! Perfect for families, safe, amazing restaurants nearby and no to crowded beaches in December!!!

Service was Amazing and the location is very secluded but private and safe... Beautiful place and will return for sure.
