Lovely family run local restaurant where the owners/servers greet you with happiness and remember guests when they visit again. We went twice during our stay in La Fortuna and tried out two different shakes and four different dishes. The Casado con pollo was delicious, the chicken was so flavourful. The beef nachos were solid but not the best I’ve had. The beef tacos had a lot of flavour and the Hawaiian sauce pork was interesting as the sauce was savoury with pineapple pieces. The accompaniments on the dishes were delicious, the well seasoned veggies etc. I love how they had a huge variety of condiments on each table allowing guests to try local Salsa and hot sauce or flavour to the food to their liking. The Soursop shake was delicious and the Peppermint Lemonade equally so! I would recommend getting those to try. They even provide a coconut rice pudding on the house as a free dessert. The owner was kind enough to give us a local concoction of their shot of tequila with tomato juice and boy was it delicious! Restaurant was always bustling but never a wait. This soda is better than the other well reviewed soda down the street by a mile. They accept credit card.

Honestly…I dunno if I have had better rice and beans anywhere!!?! When you can get staples THIS GOOD, everything else will be delish! Even their tortillas were great and perfectly done with just the right taste of corn. Really wish I was more hungry :(! Has WiFi. The nachos looked amazing. The mango juice was so fresh! Local, humble spot with hand working people here. A minute away from Selina. Super affordable. Just come here and eat!

A must visit place in la fortuna! The best food (casado was to die for) and the most amazing service. They gave rice pudding on the house to everyone, and also gave us a shot of a homemade cocktail drink, which was unique and delicious. Would absolutely recommend!

I asked the waitress what she recommended and I’m glad I asked, I would have not ordered it and I’m so glad I did! Order the FISH Casado! Fried fish I think it was tilapia (white fish) so fresh and tasty. The dish came with multiple side that were delicious too! Fresh mango just made in house and free water. Very homey and affordable.

Dinner was amazing and very affordable. I ordered a fish fillet with garlic sauce - the fish was very thinly breaded but still crunchy and you can taste the freshness of the garlic. The dish also came with a lot of steamed vegetables which makes it a good balanced meal. Great local joint!

Great casual spot for inexpensive local food. Had the fish and vegetarian casadas and the Costa Rican tacos. The "shakes" (most like fruit slushies) are great and refreshing (soursop and cas were my favourites )Some of the dishes were a touch too salty, but not enough to not make me want to come back! Definitely worth a visit. Very Friendly staff also.

Food in Costa Rican restaurants is not cheap. Soda Viquez was a great find - good food with good prices! Sea bass was exceptionally delicious. They also had vegetarian options. Complimentary rice pudding was the cherry on top. Must visit if you are in the area.

Had the most delicious lunch and then went for a walk around downtown la fortuna. It’s not huge but worth a fun afternoon. The food here was amazing and local. The Casado is always the go too. Taste everything and decide what you like for yourself! Definitely worth a trip

This place is a gem in downtown La Fortuna. The staff are so friendly and the food is delicious. On top of that, it’s so affordable compared to the other places on the main strip. We came two days in a row.

I would 100% come back to this place if I’m in the area again. Simple but delicious Costa Rica local food. Best sweet plantains I’ve ever had.

This place is unreal delicious! Friends of mine brought me here for dinner. They had had lunch there and it was so good they had to repeat! If it hadn’t had been the end of my trip, I would have gone back too! Not only is it delicious, it’s such good value for your money and huge portions. Amazing and friendly service too! 10/10 recommend!

We came here for luchnner, which is probably why there weren't many customers.
My wife ordered the Ensalada de Aguacate, and it was refreshing but a little plain.
I ordered the Casado de Rez, and it was delicious.
We also ordered a Limonada. I believe it had cilantro in it and really kicked it up a notch.
For desert, they included a small portion of the Arroz con Leche (rice pudding), and that was amazing!!

I recommend this place for your typical Tico dishes for a fair price.

The steak and chicken casado was great! Loved all of the sides that came with it. Perfectly paired with a nice cold Imperial.

Amazing authentic soda experience in La Fortuna. Our group of 8 dined here twice in our stay. We all had a range of cassado plates. The best part was their salad bars with salads and side dishes that changed each day. Even if you ordered the same as the person next to you - you would get something totally different based on what the staff member decided to serve you up from the salad bar! You will eat it and you will like it!!

Prices were amazing, portions huge. Beers came with cold glasses. The lady running the soda is a deadset legend. She gave us all complimentary shots of Chiliguaro on our first night and was dancing behind the counter to the music! Great personality, we love her! Don't forget to view the nativity scene oddly stored in an unused oven behind the cashier!!

Mom-and-pop not-so-fancy restaurant, price is a third for the same thing sold in main-street restaurants. Large portion. And they have pretty much everything, from casado to churrasco steak. I got the sea bass plate, very fresh, healthy, and yummy. 😋

If you want to try Costa Rican food. This is the place. Food tasted great, we took the cascade con pollo. Which was amazing! And we even got some free arroz con leche as a dessert. Afterwards the kind lady behind the counter let us try some traditional drinks from Costa Rica. Great value for money, a must if you’re in la Fortuna!

Excellent local Soda. Lots of healthy and big options including vegetarian and vegan. Very friendly staff who even invited us to try the local shot with them. Free rice pudding as a desert too.

Amazing place. A warm friendly welcome, great service and a big portion of delicious good quality fresh local food. Very reasonably priced. I had the cascado con pescado...and tomorrow night I'm going back to try the cascado con pollo! Thank you Soda Viquez! Highly recommend.
