Memories Caribe Beach Resort

We have now been about 10x and love it. Rooms are older but what we have experienced all over Cuba. What sets this resort apart for us is the people.

Genuinely wanting to make your vacation experience memorable and hoping for you to come back. If there is an issue and they have the power to resolve it they will!

We love the people and there are some real standout individuals who make our trips even more magical. Carlos (entertainment manager) fun, witty and welcoming. Maidel the snack bar cook during the day is the sweetest guy we have ever met….and he makes a great pizza. Pamela & Dahomey in the snack bar are all smiles and sass! Lastly the bartenders…Michael (pool hut) and David (pool bar) very personable and attentive.

People complain about lack of things like pop, wine etc…but the country is hurting and that is not something the bar folks can solve unfortunately …don’t get mad if they don’t have what you want…they truly try their best.

Go with reasonable expectations and you can never be disappointed. The beach is amazing, the sun and palm trees are all amazing.

Had a wonderful trip. Great people. Beautiful beaches. Wonderful room. Cuba is dealing with a lot of shortages so it might not be for everyone. But it was a wonderful trip and I can't wait to go back

One of the best resort we have visited. All staff were really helpful, friendly and knew how to serve the customers and make everyone feel special. The room was well equipped, clean and the service was excellent.

The animation team definitely made our stay very memorable and fun throughout every day of our stay! Yerandy and Jenny always made sure we were having fun and included everyone in the activities with the biggest smiles and energy at all times. They made sure we had our best vacation and because of their service, kindness and hospitality we definitely will be returning soon.

Big shoutout to Manuel as well for always making sure we had everything we needed to have a good time!

Amazing place, this was our second time going to this hotel and we love it. We went back for 14 days and as always we had a pleasant time. The beach is just breath taken, so relaxing, I enjoyed the activities at the beach. The food was ok no complaints and the rooms were always clean. What to say about the entertainment staff, they are just WOW, Angelica, Jose Carlos, Eddie, Yoel, I feel like they are family. Always, making sure that we were ok and the activities were great. The staff at the public relation were also great, they were able to give me a late checkout and they did everything to help me. I would definitely recommend this resort. I miss all the entertainment staff and I hope we can go back again next year. Las primas <3

Went for our honeymoon and loved every bit of it ! The staff is super nice and the food and drinks are amazing ! We loved both the pool and beach and I highly suggest going into the beans Cafe for a iced coffee or cappuccino the ladies who work in there are super sweet and the ice cream is to die for ! The rooms are good but no hot water and of course we missed our own bed but the maids always kept it nice and tidy

We had a great time, we were a group of 7 crazy people and the truth is that this place was divine!!!
The room was good, at least clean and good location, it is no less true that it needs improvement but it is Cuba. The food is 6/10, they do everything they can but many things are missing, the drinks are 5/10 and the same thing happens. We liked the themed restaurants, they have variety and well-prepared food. The ambassadors' dinner and the tasting on route 66 was the best, we loved everything, the tasting could change a little at the time of the explanation, the man talks a lot and the guests sometimes get bored, just a recommendation.
The beach is the most beautiful you can visit in the world, it seems made for Gods, turquoise blue water and fine sand that mixes between you like magic, I loved it!
Thanks to the wonderful staff, Gisela pr, Tita Community manager, Yoandri room service, Machino cook, Andriju manager. They are very good at what they do and super professional. We will return without a doubt.

Amazing vacations. Staff was very nice and friendly. Food is nothing spectacular but the drinks make up for it. Best snack was the pizza at the beach and the best coffee at the lobby bar with Jasser. Bring your mosquitoe repellant!

First of all, i just want to say that this stay in Cuba would'nt be as good as it was without the entertainment team. Every single member of that team made me feel comfortable in this resort. They always knew how to hype things up.. especially the dancing lessons and the beach party's. Pupo & Eddy are one of the nicest people i've ever met too!!

Second of all, the beach is just magnificient. Truly a 10/10 because of how clear the water is. There's also 0 sea weeds and the white sand feels so nice. The beach doesnt get deep very fast so you can relax while being in that crystal clear water. The water has the perfect temperature so i spent most of the time there enjoying it. I've seen multiples starfish's too.

Third of all, going solo should NOT be a problem because of nice everyone is there. Workers there are always heart warming and helping. This entire staff should get a 5 star review. I also want to add that i made so many new friends there and most of them are travellers like me and you. Pratically everyone is sociable there, even the elderly ahaha. I felt like i was part of a big family with people coming from everywhere. The bad thing is that i miss them now although i was with them a few days ago.

Thank you once again to the staff at Memories Caribe. They make every visit feel like returning home. We love this resort! They are located in a pristine area of Cayo Coco, where the beach is amazing. But it's the incredible team running this resort that make it so special. From our first visit, through each return, we are treated like family. This is why they have the highest return rate of the adults only resorts on cayo coco. Diamond Club is worth it, no matter what others have said here and on Trip Advisor. The Diamond beach area is worth it alone. Alain at the bar -most attentive bartender in Cuba- and Yoanny at the grill -makes the best food- every sunny day at the beach is amazing! The additional a la carte dinners you get and daily breakfast with Odalys and her team in the Mediterranean restaurant, these are also wonderful inclusions. The Diamond club rooms are great, but the upgrade to a bungalow suite will make your vacation that much more enjoyable. Each return to this resort has been a truly restful and rejuvenating experience.

Very friendly. Most place I’ve been to, the staff seemed sad and I can’t blame them I hate work also lol, but Memories Caribe was amazing and even remembered my name on check out! Special thanks to Joahanna, I know that is not spelled right. Rooms are not ready usually until around 3pm or 4pm, I arrived early at noon so I put my luggage in a secured room next to the reception for a few hours while I went to the beach until 3pm.

Grounds and pool
They have a swim up bar which I know a lot of people love. I am more of a beach person, but I did go into the pool and had a drink at the swim up pool. Very spacious and clean, lots of loungers and entertainment, no complaints. Flies – none in buffet, a few found in places where say left over drinks were sitting. Same like I would find at home in the summer. There are 3 dogs at the resort and I must say they seem very happy! They look healthy, they are fed. The 3 dogs have a good relationship with each other. 2 males and one female I heard them doing the hankie pankie so I know they all happy lol. The cats around the resort also look happy and healthy so that made me feel much better. The bird with the broken wing who been living there 5 years, I was so sad at first, but he is happy and does go In the water to fish and then hang around the resort. I was warned he might nip my leg if I go to close and he did lol I screamed. Harmless tho.

Room
I purchased a basic room, I got a room in block 22. The room was very nice. I am not sure if I was in a renovated room as it did seem modern so I am not sure if there are more dated rooms but mine seemed picture worthy. They provided a tooth brush tooth paste, shaver and cream, shampoo conditioner soap, an abrasive pad. TV had lots of channels. Fridge stocked with water and pepsi as I had diamond club. The beautiful palm tree outside my balcony gave me total privacy. Clean each day by the maid.

OUT OF THIS WORLD, BEST I HAVE BEEN ON. IS IT REAL?? HAD TO RINSE THE EYES AND DOUBLE CHECK. Beach service and food on the beach. That Is what I look for.

Food
Very healthy and fresh. Yes healthy! I felt cleansed and the internal systems were happy lol. I ate diamond club al a carte breakfast and dinner and it was great as I didn’t stuff myself at a buffet. Lunch I at at the beach grill diamond club. If you are not diamond club there is still pizza , burgers, etc to eat, but diamond club had rice, veggies and a grilled meat. No complaints about the food. Yes there were no eggs for a few days but there was eggs for making things like French toast, crepes, bacon grilled cheese. There was a lot of bacon and we know that is really the star of the breakfast show.

Entertainment
Was really impressed with the entertainment. I’ve been to resorts all over and a lot of boring places but the entertainment here was non stop. From the buffet, to the pool, to the beach, the shows at night and I actually had a blast at the disco route 66 after the show (look for the flashing lights out front) I wandered over and boy it was rocking!!!

Entertainment. Keeps me busy! I have to say out of all the points I make, the entertainment team was really the best for me. Was never bored!!!!

Me and my girlfriend booked a 10 day vacation at this resort.

The beach was beautiful,the property was well maintained however the highlight of our vacation was the staff employed at this resort.

We had the opportunity to socialize with the majority of the workers employed here however Manuel Zamoras hospitality alone elevated our experience from a good experience to an amazing time.

Animation leader José Carlos is excellent. Personable, engaging, energetic, fun.

This is an island full of resorts (no one lives on the island) getting to and from the resort from airport is easy and about 25 minutes away by bus transfer. The lobby is where you get your internet code and internet service. The rooms are nice and the bed is comfy. You get a balcony or a patio. Beach is clean. Lots of seating. Pizza and drinks available at the beach. A few outdoor showers to rinse off is available. Pool is clean and has a swim up bar and a 24hr snack bar is right next door with music. TV and offers hot dogs. Fries. Sandwiches and alcohol. There is a smoke shop on site that offers cigarettes and cigars (sometimes they ran out of things so I walked to the next resort) 5 minute walk. Cost about $2 to $4 for a pack of smokes. Bank is on-site for money exchange. There is a hop on hop off double Decker bus that can take you to plazas for shopping $5 each person for both ways. You can rent a scooter for the whole day including gas for $32 American. Food is good for Cuba. Lots of variety. Omelets and pancakes available for breakfast. Fish and chicken as well as pork available for lunch and dinner. Wine and beer is available at the buffet. As well as tea. Massage and gym on site. As well as hair salon. Will return. Quiet nice comfortable experience. Shows on site during the night at the theatre are fun and enjoyable. Weather is amazing in November. One thing I recommend is bring Mosquito spray and sunblock. About 95% of the staff speak great English. Nice and clean resort.

Had a great time at this resort. Going to Cuba understand that it’s not going to be luxurious with five star meals, but the workers make it the best they can for you. Entertainment every night, activities at the pool and the beach daily. Watch out for mosquitoes and sand fleas at the beach at dusk and dawn. Beach is beautiful with the bluest ocean. Can walk out far and still have water just around your waist.This resort is amazing!!! The food is fabulous. The waitresses and waiters are attentive. The entertainment is wonderful, they are so happy to meet Canadians. The are so kind. We are so greatful for this vacation and all of the people we have met

I took this trip as my original trip to Dominican got cancelled and I’m so happy it did. I had such a wonderful time, especially for travelling by myself for the first time. The staff were kind and English spoken. The resort could use a little love but the value for the price is amazing. I highly recommend this resort if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, especially for single people and elderly couples.

FYI: You CAN exchange money at the front desk
FYI: DO NOT tip with CAD coins, only CAD bills or Cuban Pesos (staff will ask around for bills if tipped with coins)

FOOD: Was subpar but 24hr snack bar makes up for it. There’s a pasta bar, stir fry bar and a heavily Cuban inspired main buffet. Food lacks seasoning but just ask for some salt if it’s very bland. Trying to book reservations for the restaurants is a little annoying as you have to go to the restaurant within a certain time frame to book but I recommend the Asian restaurant.

Pro tip: Sitting in the same section of the buffet at the same times ensures the same waiters, which means better service. (Every time i walked in my waitress already had a glass of wine waiting for me without me even asking lol)

DRINKS: If you love rum then the drinks are for you. Couldn’t seem to find anything other than rum, the sports bar possibly could have had more liquor options but I didn’t go as it wasn’t open for very long. The beer was good and the wine I found cheap but tasty. They also have slushy options. I found I got the strongest drinks at the 24h snack bar

BEACH: Was BEAUTIFUL. I spent every day there for multiple hours, the water was clear and gorgeous. Many beach chairs and a great beach bar. However there are no rentals (jet skis, paddle boards etc….that I could see).

POOL: Didn’t go in but looked fantastic with many beach chairs and the snack bar right around the corner, no swim up bar that I could see.

ROOMS: Located in cute villas. VERY clean. The staff give you a large water bottle every day or two which you can put in the mini fridge. The rooms are air conditioned. The floors were mopped daily, the bath/beach towels changed daily. There’s outlets that fit Canadian/US plugs. The balcony is spacious with a small table & ashtray. The TV didn’t seem to work but I didn’t really care as I brought a laptop. There’s no shower curtain or door to the bathroom (at least in the room I was in) so some may not like that if travelling with others.

ENTERTAINMENT: I didn’t find much night entertainment but, I do remember a few of the days there were dance lessons? I think. There was also a FANTASTIC saxophone player who played many hits from artists like Whitney Houston. If you’re looking to party every night this resort does NOT offer discos but I believe they do have a shuttle to neighbouring resorts that do.

AIRPORT/TRANSPORT: The airport was very quick to go through when coming into cuba, very small airport which was nice compared to the chaos at Pearson. The travel from the airport to the resort was about 30 minutes which was quick. They offered beer on the bus which was a nice touch.

EXCURSIONS: There’s a Cigar mill tour, beach tour & safari tour. I didn’t do the cigar or beach tour but I did the safari tour. I booked with a professional driver and I had such a wonderful time. Beware of bugs (obviously)

BUGS: I didn’t find any bugs whatsoever besides a few common house flies which I couldn’t believe. I left with not a single mosquito bite (until the tour).

TL;DR: This resort was fantastic. I HIGHLY recommend this resort if you are travelling by yourself or as a couple. Not many locals, 90% tourists, all very friendly and able to speak English. The food wasn’t the best but no complaints, I still found something I could enjoy every day I was there (if you’re picky, eat at the 24h snack bar). Drinks were always flowing. The room was cleanly, beach was absolutely gorgeous and I would 100% go back. I’ve recommended this trip to many people who have ended up going and really enjoying themselves especially for the price.

Friendly staff, great shows and things to do! Many restaurants for fine dining. Several bars to have a beer or cocktail 🍸

Came to this resort with my friends, and was truly a great experience. From the amazing beach to the lively entertainment, everything was top-notch. But the most noticeable aspect of this resort were the staff. Everyone was extremely kind and friendly, and would always be warm to all the guests. The entertainment staff were especially welcoming. Laura and Manuel made sure to help me and my friends have the best time we could possibly have. Would definitely recommend!

It was a great experience at this resort. The staff was amazing, Tita gave us the best service and was super duper helpful! Me and my gang would definitely come back, very cozy and comfortable resort! The lady working at the coffee & ice cream shop was an absolute doll! The people were great and we made friends with so many kind Russians! Can’t wait to go back with my future wife! ALSO, would definitely recommend the grill at the buffet and be sure to wash it down with cucumbers and papaya to stay hydrated after all that yummy rum! 😃
