Casa Bonita Tropical Lodge

We came here as an impromptu stop on our honeymoon in Dominican Republic. It was the best decision we ever made. Bere and Gonzalo went out of their way to make this the most memorable experience. ! The beauty was unprecedented. It’s a literal gem in the middle of the jungle. We stayed in one of the river houses that felt like we were in one of James Bond’s homes. It was stunning and very private. The staff were on point and always there if we needed anything. They had just sustained a tremendous loss of property to a fire but we would’ve never even known had they not explained. Food was outstanding. We flew our plane in and would highly recommend this as a stop for private pilots. The airport is not open for commercial use but it is very close and they will arrange a shuttle, the driver was so kind. There is an endless amount of activities, we tried the rock sauna and it was awesome. I look forward to see what new experiences they have set up next time we come because we will definitely be back!!!

Casa Bonita Hotel in Barahona is nothing short of a tropical paradise. The surroundings, decor, ambience and customer service is definitely deserving of a five star rating. The food is simply delicious, five stars! The rooms are nicely decorated, but they are on the smaller side, and can comfortably accommodate no more than two people. If traveling in a group of three or more, I definitely recommend their villas. The hotel should also offer shuttles to nearby attractions, and maps of the area, that’s really all that I felt was missing for a complete five star rating. I still couldn’t give it anything less than five stars, because the overall experience felt luxurious, the service was excellent, it was a beautiful hotel, and a truly beautiful and serene landscape!

After a beautiful drive through the southwest portion of the country you pass through Barahona and travel a short distance. You turn off the main road and travel on a private lane through a guard gate. There you enter your own personal paradise!! The staff was amazing and soooo friendly and helpful. My kids loved the zip line with Sandy and Highland. The food was good and the Juices were unforgettable! We stayed in the bonita villa and it was gorgeous! We felt incredibly safe the entire time we were there. The staff accommodated every request we made. I will absolutely be back. We are from the US and live in Utah. If you want a true Dominican experience with the culture and the food in a place that is completely safe I would absolutely recommend the Casa Bonita Tropical Lodge!!!

Incredible place. We stayed there with our 7 year old sun. The food is really delicious. The staff if full of attention and at the level of top international hotels. For exemple I had a flat tire and they managed to repair it within the night.

Loved it. We made a family trip booked this hotel the day we arrived to Barahona and we loved it. the scene was beautiful, the food, I mean I had no complaints. Excellent hotel with excellent location, clean & comfortable, friendly staff. Would definitely recommend this hotel to everybody! It's a true sample of excellent hospitality.

We came as a group to do the canopy tour and the waterfall hike. We also ate a breakfast there and a lunch. Everything we did was amazing. I would recommend it as a place to go to experience the best the Dominican Republic has to offer.

We spent three nights in Casa Bonita. It is remote, quiet, and exquisite. We like seafood and the quality and preparation at Casa Bonita was superb. Excellent staff and a variety of options for excursions. We arranged transport back and forth from Santo Domingo through Casa Bonita and the driver was top notch with over 30 years of experience driving vehicles and buses of all sizes.

I have travelled to quite a few luxury hotels in the Caribbean, Hawaii and The South Pacific. Casa Bonita is a small hidden gem. When you first arrive the first thing you notice is the friendliness of the staff. They can't wait to make your stay the best experience. From the groundskeeper to the owner, they make sure that you and your family are having an excellent stay. A beautiful infinity pool with a an incredible view of the ocean.
Superb fine dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you don't see what you want on their menu, just ask and they will gladly make it for you. We had a family reunion and they made it a memorable one. We used all their amenities. Massages by the river, zip lining, and they arranged a trip to Bahia de las Aguilas beach. One of the most beautiful beaches that I have ever seen. I was sad to leave and I can't wait to book my next trip back.

Wonderful and peaceful, independent cabins in the woods by a clear water stream you can jump in at any time. There is a shared area with pool, restaurant and a breathtaking view of the sea from the mountainside. Cabins have wifi, cable tv, hot water and even a nice jacuzzi. Massage by the river and sauna in a clay structure with cocoa scrub and fresh leaves are available and a very special treat. Staff is nice and friendly. You can walk among the trees or up the stream.

Food is healthy and great, as in quinoa salad, goat cheese, fresh ceviche and other specialties. Limited but tasty vegetarian options (pasta, salads, risotto). You can ask for some of the side dishes to be served as main courses: moro de guandules con coco (rice, pigeon peas with a taste of coconut oil), sauteed vegetables, fried plantain, etc.

COVID-19 social distancing practices and regulations are carefully observed.

A great overall experience, quite different from what you find elsewhere. If you love nature and peace, this is the place for you. Kids will enjoy it too.

Words can’t describe how amazing our experience at Casa Bonita was. The property is out of this world gorgeous and from the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcomed and at the top of the world. The restaurant was wonderful with a typical Dominican food menu selection. Highly recommend the tour to Bahia De las Aguilas with Carlos! It was the highlight of our trip to D.R.!

Really wonderful place to relax. The service is a bit slow but the surroundings, the spa, the excursions makes up for it. The rooms are really comfortable. One of the best sleep I've had in a long time

This magic little sort in the jungle is possibly the best resort we've ever stayed in. We travel a lot, all over the world. Bere is a world class hostess.

5 stars does not even begin to describe my appreciation and admiration for this particular resort and its staff. The room and restaurant views were gorgeous, the food was delicious (especially the Pumkpin Soup), the activities were fun and organized, rooms were clean and prestine, and the hospitality was beyond words. Henrique, the hotel manager, and his co-worker, Angel, have my highest respect and admiration for all they had done to make my boyfriend and I's experience a memorable one. They and the rest of the staff had went above and beyond to provide us outstanding service with a bright smile. Words can't even decribe how much I love and appreciate this place and the staff or how thankful I was to have our last week in the Dominican Republic spent here. I will definitely be coming back and I will be recommending them to many friends and family.

it's one of the most beautiful places I have ever been I really recommend this place they have a great service great people a lot to offer so I mean it's something else you will love it as well

I'm dominican and my hobbie is to travel inside the country to know hotels, beaches, small towns, etc.. And so far this is the best hotel I have been!! Its beatiful, so peaceful, excellent food and a five star service.. The staff make you feel very special and always taking care of you. I made two activities in the hotel: El sendero de la virgen trail and the canoping (zip line) and both were well worth it!!.

Casa Bonita Tropical Lounge is a safe welcoming tropical environment staff is lovely and very kind, and all of the other installations are amazing aswell. The beaches nearby are amazing aswell. Five star would be recommended to everyone.

We went to celebrate my sister 21 st birthday in casa bonita and we really had the best time there. The place is not only amazing but the staff went out of their way to make all of us feel so welcome I will recommend this place to everyone!

It is perfect to relax and even do some work if you have a busy day and want to mix it with a nice view.

Amazing experience, place and food. It is classy and the ambiance is perfect for a romantic date. I recommend it 100%.
