The falls are a real highlight during the raining season. The whole trip to get there is an adventure. You see how the locals live and walk through the primary forest. It’s very muddy, so bring proper shoes.

Great day trip from Bahir Dar. It takes about 2h drive and most of the road is pretty good. Amazing views of the waterfalls and you can get very very close to the water as well as right on the top edge of the falls. You will want to get a guide from the office at the beginning of the park, it costs 200bir. Our guide was very helpful and was definitely worth having him.

Super blessed to have the opportunity to go there several times, while i was attending higher education at Bahir Dar University, it is 13 km away from where I was located. I advice everyone to go visit the great Blue Nile falls, it's just remarkable. You either can walk near to the falls or tak a boat. The guides arw friendly and well cultured.

The beauty of Abay river water fall is breathtaking. If you are around Bahir Dar you should visit it. But you should consider the season, the rainy season Starts in June and ends in October.

This is a place you must visit if you are close to bahir dar city. You will travel there by bus and then get a ticket. I recommend you to take a walk not a boat at the first way. So many kids will try to sell trinkets and if you want photo then you will have to pay for it. So I azdvice you to bring some cookies or candies, but the best would be to give them pen, pencil or notebook or book, anything for their school. Don't limit your time, enjoy it. Blue Nile falls will greet you with its power & beauty.

Originally, the Blue Nile meandered away from Lake Tana before plunging violently over the side of a 400m (1,312ft) wide gorge into a chasm below. Unfortunately, due to hydroelectric projects upstream, the waterfall today is only a shadow of its former self.

Blue Nile Falls, Tis Abay
The Blue Nile Falls, known locally as ‘Tis Abay’ meaning ‘Great Smoke’, are an assertion to Ethiopia’s natural beauty. The Blue Nile Falls are the only and the most breathtaking falls anywhere along the longest river of the world.

The Falls cascade down a 42m-high drop to produce a dazzling spray of mist and rainbows. More pronounced during the rainy season, when the falls are at their strongest. Through the natural 400m-wide flow, the three-pronged waterfall is an event that makes you wonder what the power of water is like. The falls are jaw-droppingly huge to make you run the moment you face them. The falls are located 28km southeast of Bahir Dar town

The Blue Nile Falls are a stunning sight to behold. The falls have a captivating beauty that attracts many visitors and photographers. The water cascades over a steep cliff and creates a misty spray that forms rainbows in the sunlight. The falls are also known as Tis Abay, which means "smoking water" in Amharic. The Blue Nile Falls are a natural wonder that showcases the very beautifulness of Ethiopia's landscape.

We had a great time here at tis ebay fall(ጢስ አባይ ፏፏቴ). At the morning we landed at bahirdar new bus station(አዲሱ መናሀሪያ). It takes 1 hour to reach at tis abay town, the distance is not long but the road is under construction, it is not confortable. After we had arrived at tis abbay town, we continued our trip by walking. After 5 minutes we arrived at fassiledes bridge, built in 17th century by emperor fasilledes, it connects gojjam and gondar peoples. then after 15 minute walk we saw the fall and the bridge. the season was autumn and the rain was decreasing and the rivers that drains abay are also diminished. But the amount of fall is so high and the pressure is so difficult to approach or close to the fall

Words aren't big enough to write about my time in this place. At all it was wonderful absolutely wonderful time
Thank you

It's becoming the most grateful waterfall. Now is the time to visit this big waterfall. It has green landscape around it. Also you can spend night or two at Blue Nile camping site at the top part of the waterfall.
