Hotel el Delfin

Is a friendly place with basic super.clean economic rooms. Right in front of the beach.
I leave my valuables with the bartender while I go enjoy the beach, food is good and the drinks well priced.
My safe fun place to go in Monterrico
Highly recommend it. And shuttle from antigua will drop you there.
I recommend to call El Delfin to make reservations for shuttle it will be cheaper to do it with tbem the owner is a great guy, and willing to help travelers anyway he can.

This hotel holds a special place in my heart as it's not only where I met my wife, but we got married there as well! Of course it's beautiful and that's why we wanted to be married at the location, but the reality is also that having the staff there part of our wedding was amazing because of how great people they have employed there!

This place is fantastic! It has such a great vibe. The rooms are sparse but clean and comfortable. It is worth getting an air conditioned room. The bed was great, the restaurant and bar are fantastic, with a wonderful atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was very tasty and reasonably priced. They also have great deals on drinks and beer each night. If you are looking to get away to the coast in Guatemala on a budget, there's no place like el Delfin!

I didnt stay here but I didnt have dinner here with 10 guests. They were great and aaffordable. Gave free use of the pool and great with the kids. Stayed and had a few good drinks. Friendly staff! Guests there seemed very satisfied. Going back second day. Btw not perfect beach but much safer than our Iztapa location, serious but less strong undertow. Many kids play in swallow waters. Iztapa had quick drop with strong undertow. PLACE HAS GOOD 4 TO 7 HAPPY HOUR DRINKS

We really enjoyed or stay at hotel el Delfin. The location is perfect directly on the beach. All the staff is kind and helpful.
We loved the food, the happy hour, the swimming, live music and all the good vibes.

This place has everything for the budget traveler. You can get anything from a bunk in a shared room to a private room with AC. The restaurant is delicious and inexpensive with a view of the waves. They clean constantly and the pool is clear, well maintained. I came for 3 days and stayed for a week!

A great place all around. Staff is super nice and accommodating. Everything was clean clean. There's a good sized pool, bar and restaurant, live music, pool table, hammocks all around. Great spot to chill and hangout and the beachfront location was perfect.

I've been there 2 times already and it is definitely a great place to stay at. And not just because it is in front of the beach. They have plenty of rooms just for a single person or even a big family. They have a restaurant and a bar, both of them have a good service and great food! The staff are always nice and servicial, showing how kind Guatemalans are. They have live music on Saturdays which is great to see. They have a nice pool which can be crowded on weekends. Yet, it is a really good hotel with decent prices wether you are coming alone, with your couple or family. Enjoy the sight to the sea!

Awesome hostel/hotel on the beach (literally on the sand) with great chill vibes. Paid 100Q/night for two people in a private room with 3 single beds and mosquito nets. Free water and coffee, plus pretty good (and not-too-expensive) food. Owner is super nice also, he gave us a lift in his car to the public boat as we were running late! Monterrico is great and hotel el delfín is the best!!

I know my visit was long ago now (2009) but my experience was amazing, and they deserve all the credit! :)
The Hotel el Delfin was recommended to me by a wonderful local woman I made friends with in Pana.... she loved the hotel, and said we should all go for a week (us and her husband) and then a 2nd week for just us girls. After two weeks, both Angel and Maria had gone home to Panajachel, but I was loving everything so much that I decided to stay on alone.
Please know that my Spanish was/is VERY BASIC, anything extra came directly out of the Spanish/English dictionary I carried everywhere. That did not matter AT ALL; I made friends with the night guard and his bueno perro ;) and everyone was kind and patient. I figured out what I liked to eat and how to order it (the kitchen makes every meal from scratch) and sometimes I had a short wait, but it was ALWAYS worth it; delicious! Some new ideas of food I knew, and other things I had never had (fresh as the minute ceviché!).
I LOVED the beautiful clean perfect pool the MOST (there are many sharks in the water on the beach due to a unique deep drop off on in the sea on the shores of Monterrico), the open air showers, and my budget room was a GREAT VALUE (and I am thankful for the mosquito nets....nature wants what is wants). There is a turtle sanctuary a nice walk up the beach also. No real ‘shopping’ when I was there, but that’s not what I vacation for, so I didn’t mind at all.
I know this has been long, but here comes the very best part of all. Into about week 3 I hurt my foot terribly (all my fault, drunk and careless), and the very nice older lady owner immediately, and without my knowledge or request, called her son, a doctor, in Guatemala City, and made SURE I was cared for and had the needed medication and treatment protocols!!! How nice was that?!? I stayed an extra 2 weeks for my foot to heal, and all I want is to GO BACK!!! Yay Hotel el Delfin!!!!

Great place with swimming pool and right at the pacific ocean. It has redtaurant and bar, tours. On Fridays and Saturdays it has volleyball and line walking funs. Has pool and pingpoong tables. Great place to meet people. To the left around 4 pm you can watch the fishermen trying for up to half an hour to cross the giant waves into the pacific ocean. Later a beautiful sunset. Only thing to be aware of are loads of mosquitos.

It is defintely a five star hotel for a low budget! Henry was really polite. ! The whole staff treats you like you are the owner! Next to the beach, rooms are comfortable. The bar and the food tasted really good and fresh. I recomend it to everyone! If i visit Monterrico again, i will defintely stay here again! Thank you for the amazing service

Looooove it!!!! Clean and neat pool and bathrooms. They have a great menu and fresh seafood catch from the day. Prices are ok! They have a bar at the beach and play live music on Saturday!

Nice pool, friendly staff, and right on the beach..! Perfect place to stay in Montericco. They also take part and run a beach clean, which is desperately needed in the area, so 5 stars for that alone.

Very kind staff and accommodating. We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed it. Best place to stay around monterrico and you get the fourth night for free!
