Rector's Palace Slano

The visit is made by the curator who is very knowledgable about the site and the wider history of the rector role in Croatian history. He does a background 'tour' before letting you visit the rest of the site at your leisure. The site was not busy but he had asked another couple to wait until he had more than 2 people on an english speaking tour, which seemed reasonable.
Was not expensive and felt like good value for money.

I recommend to everyone, who stays in the area or just passing through.
At first we thought it would be another boring museum with some artifacts and photos and stuff. We are here in the area, looks very neat, why not visit this site....
Then as we got in, a gentleman greeted us with very good english. Beautiful reconstructed building, with even more beautiful little garden.
We paid a small price for the ticket ( we used Dubronik pass for cheaper price, but regretted it afterwards, because this worth every penny...) The gentleman then starts to tell a story of the palace, the history of the area and the surrounding region. As he heard we are hungarian he told some bits of the tale where Hungary played part.
It seemed he love this place, talks about it from his heart.
As it turned it has some real roman findings too!
It's worth to stop for a quick visit on the road to Dubrovnik!

This is a great place to visit. The guide was a lovely bubbly young lady who helped to make it memorable.

Pałac Rektorów w Slane nie należał do reprezentacyjnych, pełnił on funkcje obronne i administracyjne. Pierwszy pałac w stylu gotycko- renesansowy powstał w 1447 r. o czym świadczą inskrypcje na pierwszym piętrze. Znajduje się tu reprezentacyjny pokój hrabiego. Pałac był dwa razy zniszczony przez trzęsienie ziemi w XVII i XIX wieku. W 1991 r. podczas serbskiej inwazji na Republikę Chorwacką pałac został ponownie zniszczony. Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Starego Dubrownika zakończyło w 2017 r. odbudowę pałacu. Obecnie na dziedzińcu palacowym jest biuro z kasą biletową. Bardzo miły i sympatyczny Pan Przewodnik opowiada ciekawą historię pałacu.

Sjedište kneza Dubrovačkog primorja obnovljeno je nedavno s puno pažnje i iskustva. Posjetite je svakako.

Zanimljivo iskustvo koje nas je jako pozitivno dojmilo. Svakako bih preporučio posjet. Također, pohvalio bih i gospođu Gordanu koja nam pokazala i ispričala sve zanimljivosti o Kneževom dvoru i mjestu Slano.

Vodič koji nas je dočekao i vodio je duša muzeja ❤💙 toliko divnih priča, toliko prekrasnih emocija.. Hvala.

Wir waren hier vor ziemlich genau einem Jahr, doch erst jetzt komme ich zur Bewertung. Hierher kommen eher weniger Touristen. Doch durch die ausführlichen Erklärungen des engagierten Mitarbeiters wahr der Besuch sehr interessant und man erfährt einiges über die Geschichte des Ortes. Wenn man mit den Leuten redet, bekommt man auch einen Preisnachlass als Gruppe.

Onofrijeva je uvijek u centru pažnje, a okolo nje razni "oriđinali".
