Pulau Weh (We Island) is a small active volcanic island at the northwest tip of Sumatra. It is in Andaman sea, same line with Andaman/Nicobar Island.
Sabang the largest city in Pulau Weh is about 18 nautical mile from the  Banda Aceh, the main land.There is regular ship and ferry from here to this island.
This island is mountainous and has 150km² area.There is a water fall and  three solfatara (mudpot )fields on the island.
At a depth of 9 metres (30 ft), close to Sabang city, underwater fumaroles emerge from the seabed which are suitable for scuba diving.
There are so many dive site in Pulau Weh, it is a paradise for scuba divers of all level.
And the best part is that this sites are not overcrowded with tourists.
Best time to dive April to October.
A visibility that can go up to 40-50 meters make Pulau Weh a great place for deep diving.
Currents are very challenging at most dive sites .
Coral reef areas around the island are known for their large variety of fish species-
tuna, barracuda, sharks (white tip, black tip and occasionally a grey reef or hammerhead), big groupers and giant reef rays.Occasionally  we can also see eagle rays and manta rays.
The Island  and the beaches ( Gapang Beach,Iboih Beach,Long Beach) can be visited in a day trip  by rental vehicles, because there is no public transport here.
Visited three times to this island with Kuantan Scuba Diving Club (BSAC) Malaysia.We had a wonderful time here.

Its great island! People used to call it Sabang, coz sabang is the name of its capital city.

I will definitely come back here with my family...!! Its a small island, nice, clean enough, hilly island with good roads. If you come to sabang/we island, never miss to go to Rubiah island. The beach is so clean, you can see the corals and fishes. In the Rubiah island there is a historic pilgrimage quarantine buildings made by the dutch colonial. It is a heaven for snorkling. Swimming is great with white sands, warm welcome clean water/waves.

Amazing Wonderfull. a fun vacation spot in Aceh, the Sabang island. On this islands you can snorkel. A paradise for lovers of diving. Beautiful nature. Friendly society. The outer island of Indonesia. This is where you can find the 0 kilometer monument of Indonesia. The island is so great. There are many cows and goats strolling around the island.

There are many tourist attractions available here from the volcano mount to beautiful beach. It's all here!

However it's lack of great restaurant here. There are many great taste restaurant but the facility is look like "warung". The hotels and resorts are also great and you can choose raging from 300 thousand rupiah to more than 1 million rupiah per night.

Crystal clear water, pearly white sands, tasty food (fresh seafood) nice people and the most amazing experience is dolphin watching tour... Definitely will come back again..

This is the view of Pulau Weh from the top of the Zero Kilometer Sabang Monument. Here you will also find souvenirs to take home. I stopped by to drink coconut water to refresh my thirst, because the weather was hot!

Wonderful island, visiting the west part of Indonesia with amazing view. The sea is clean. You can go diving or snorkeling at iboih. Zero kilometer monument. Or mini volcano, waterfall and also they have great cullinary. This island also possible to get around by motocycle in one day.

This island reminds me of my childhood, playing, fishing, diving and shooting fish with my cousins...our house is in the village of pepper gardens...hopefully all my brothers and sisters there are healthy....currently I live in Depok, West Java ...

Pulau Weh is an island situated about 20 km from Banda Aceh. This island is famous as a holiday destination. It offers pristine natural beauties and historical places. You can reach this island by ferry from Ulee Lheue port in western Banda Aceh. It's only 45 minutes journey by fast ferry, but if you bring your own vehicle, you must take the slow ferry that takes 2 hours in the water.

Nice beach with a long pier which takes you out over the coral in a sea full of fish. A couple of restaurants with hammocks to chill in after your swim

This is reallly a magnificent island in the western tip of the Great Indonesia you cannot afford to miss......This starts the Kilometer Zero 0 to a distance of more 500 kilometers to the eastern tip in the city of Merauke in Papua......The winding road along the beach about 300-600 meters above and so green , the similar track as the US Pacific Highway # 1 only this one is much greener......
