Lumba Lumba Diving Centre & Beach Resort

Accommodation:
We stayed in a cottage with our own terrace. It was very comfortable and spacious. We had an extra bed for our child, but there was plenty of space to play. The air conditioning is quiet and powerful enough , the mosquito net over the beds was very useful to us.

Diving:
They have a wonderful team of professionals. Midi, Andy and Rose are excellent guides. All processes are at a very high level. It’s great that after each dive the boat returns to the dive center. It's easy to create your own dive schedule and only visit dive sites that interest you. I did 12 dives here and saw a huge variety of animals, from large groups of devil rays and sharks to microscopic nudibranches.

My family and I would be happy to return here in the future.

I stayed here for 6 nights with my girlfriend, and did 12 dives with the Lumba Lumba team.

We chose to stay in the budget accommodation, with private bathroom and a small patio with hammock overlooking the ocean. The room was quiet, comfortable- good value. Lovely ocean and sunset views!

There are also several very tasty options for meals right next to the resort - from delicious baked goods to local food, as well as some western options (pizza from Barracuda was awesome!) The beach is quiet and beautiful.

In terms of diving, we had an amazing time with the very professional team of divemasters, boat crew, and logistical staff. There is a wide variety of dive sites, and you could dive up to 4 times per day if you wanted to/had the energy to do so! I did 12 dives, and really enjoyed my dives with Andi & Midi- two DMs who are clearly very experienced and made us feel safe and comfortable. The currents present on several of the dive sites made the diving interesting, and provides a healthy habitat for a huge variety of fish, pelagic life, and macro critters. The dive sites have the healthiest coral I have ever seen - which was a treat to behold.

Can't wait to come back - 100% recommend staying/diving here, whether you are a new or experienced diver.

Fantastic dive trip with Lumba Lumba. Well organized and very friendly and accommodating staff. They are superbly located to many wonderful dive sites, and logistics of getting our ourselves and our dive tanks on to the dive boats were not difficult at all. The dive guides were competent, which is very important for dive safety. Our room was large with an attached bathroom. We look forward to visiting again. I did hear that it gets busy during the northern summer months but it was really nice and peaceful when we visited in November.

Had a fantastic time staying and diving with Lumba Lumba. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff are friendly and very helpful.
The diving centre is first class. All the equipment was of an excellent standard and the guides were exceptional. They all spoke very good English and, together with the equipment, I always felt very safe diving with them, even in some challenging currents and conditions. The dive sites here are also excellent!
I had a lot of fun here, highly recommended!

While I didn’t use the accommodations at Lumba Lumba during my stay, I was there every day for three weeks. I completed my Open Water and Advanced certifications during my time in Pulau Weh.
The instructors, guides, boat crew, and all staff were always friendly and helpful.
I look forward to returning to this beautiful island and diving with Lumba Lumba again

We stayed in Lumba Lumba for 5 nights and the whole experience was amazing - the accommodation, the location, the diving and for sure the helpful and very friendly staff!

Lumba Lumba is situated along the stretch of the road beside Gapang beach, which also houses other dive centers, a few humble restaurants and a mini mart. Location is great for relaxation as it is not crowded or rowdy.

I'd recommend any divers looking for a quality experience here. I like not needing to carry my own tank, friendly dive guides showing the marine lives they actively look out for, being offered refreshment after every dive, and professionalism of all crew on the boat. Another plus point, the reception of the establishment is hospitable, just shoot your questions and have them answered.

I had a fantastic time here. It was super easy to get to Lumba Lumba from Malaysia (KLIA) and that's the way I liked things to be. The clear instructions from Lumba Lumba from the start made reaching the dive shop and resort easy. As a solo traveler/diver who had never been to that part of Indonesia, the clear instructions helped tremendously. My first impression of the dive shop was it had all the right vibes. Very clean, very tidy, very organized ... and you like that in a dive shop. The dive, boat, and admin crew, including the owner, were friendly and professional. Next, I was shown to my bungalow 10 steps away from the dive shop. It was impressive. It had all the things I needed as a diver, including a personal hammock. The beach and dive boats were 20 steps in front of the dive shop. Convenience everywhere. My mental note to myself next time, and for others who are heading that way in December, is to bring at least a 3mm wetsuit because it was freezing (20degC) when I was there. I spent 6 days with Lumba Lumba, and due to the cold water, a Mola Mola came by among so many other wonderful underwater creatures. 6 days was not enough, and I will surely come back soon to spend more days there. Excellent place to stay - diving was fantastic, Sofie was a great instructor for my Open Water license. All of the team/staff are great, highly recommend coming here for diving/just general stay. The ladies in the restaurant are 12/10 too - very zen place, beautiful beach - great

The accommodation staff as well as the diving staff were absolutely amazing. The room was very nice and the attached restaurant food was very good. The restaurant workers were very funny and sweet. Would 100% recommend anyone to stay and dive here.

We did our Adventure Deep Dive at Lumba Lumba and spent 2 wonderful weeks here while diving with the best guide Roby 😉 The accomondations are clean, there is a restaurant directly on site, you can rent scooters and LumbaLumba provides free drinking water. Beautiful island and amazing dive spots 👍🏻😊

We stayed at Lumba Lumba for four days. We did a open water diver course and because we were on a budget, we had a budget room. To be honest, the room was incredible. It even had a sea view!
About the diving course: our instructor Sonja was super patient and friendly:)
I felt really safe during our dives !
The whole team is just wholesome and super helpful. I neede to go to the hospital in Banda Aceh and they arranged everything for me.
The location is just perfect. The house reef is insanely beautiful and perfect for beginners. They also offer three boats a day, where you can visit different dive sites around the island.
The Lumba Lumba diving centre and resort is a chill place with a very friendly and open atmosphere. I would love to come again one day:)

I did the PADI Open Water Course here. It was a brilliant experience and a great learning environment. I did the course with Kris, who was enthusiastic, attentive and patient in his teaching. It was a real privilege to spend the days learning from him. Thanks to Kris, and also to Sonia and Jim who were all great in teaching and guiding me during my diving at Lumba Lumba. And thanks to everyone else there for making it a pleasant and memorable few days! Highly recommend this place

Great Diving Resort with beautiful rooms and surroundings! I did my PADI Open Water Diver here and I was very happy with how everything went. Our instructor and assistant were super nice, helpful and made us feel safe at all times. After practicing at the house reef that already offers some very nice sightings, we went to other very close reefs by boat that were stunning as well. The atmosphere of the whole resort is very nice and homey and the rooms are beautifully furnished and have great terraces with hammocks to relax in.

We can only recommend this place!

It's a little paradise! Our kids took the Padi OW course and loved it. We also did some beautiful dives, just loved it!

The only dive centre to go to in Pulau Weh. Absolutely great service with very small group each dive. Reasonably priced as well. Food was alright albeit a little slow. Overall great 10/10 experience with the lumba2 team. Also shoutout to Robby and Midi our diveguides for showing us around the dive sites and Tari and Lise for hosting us throughout our trip.

We had an amazing time at Lumba Lumba! Staff and instructors were all cheerful, welcoming and knowledgeable! It was great being so close to all the dive sites, and we could easily rent motorbikes to take us across the island. Would highly recommend!

Quite area of the island. Indonesian and European staff very friendly and super professional service, providing an excellent diving experience. Plenty of fish....dolphins regularly seen in the bay too. Bungalows are spacious and we'll equipped set in a lovely garden. Good food from the Barracuda restaurant on site. Spent two very special relaxing weeks here and we were very sad to leave. Hope to revisit soon !

The room was great. It had divers in mind, clothes rack out on the deck to hang wet clothes, a hammock to relax in. In the bathroom there is a tub for you to soak and rinse your clothes. Shower head was a bit stuck, but otherwise good water pressure.
The dive centre is great! Spacious, lots of tubs to wash your gear, especially important when it gets busy.
The only complaint I have, is of the boat and the ladder that was too weak for us to climb up with our gear on. So we had to take off our gear in the water before climbing up onto the boat. Now most people wouldn't have a problem with this I reckon, especially if you're using rental gear. For me I hated it, because my BCD is worn on tight, and it was very difficult to get out of my gear whilst in the water.

Would I go back? Oh hell ya definitely. Maybe even later this year
