The location is amazing, the hostal is probably the fanciest I've been on my entire trip. 100% recommended.

Do notice that there's a possibility that you book a double bed instead of 2 beds. Still, big enough for 2.

This place was great! Beds were very comfortable. The black sand beach is super close so you can go early in the morning before everyone is there. It is clean, updated. The common area has comfy chairs and the kitchen is absolutely gorgeous. There are some restaurants in Vik nearby if cooking isn’t your thing.

I love everything here. We booked a private rooms which is separate from the main place with reception but only like less than 30 seconds walking 😂 there’s a small bar with reasonable price. 100% I’ll come back here for the next trip.

I didn't expect much from a hostel, but I got it. You get a breathtaking view. It is in a good location. You are no more than a 10 minute drive to scenic spots and the town of Vik. The Barn rooms are amazingly comfortable, charming, and shiek. I stayed in a room with a bathroom. I found it rather luxurious. The floor felt heated. The room was rather large. The bathroom had a clear, large shower. There's a curtain. Even the shower gel scent was long lasting and created a feeling of relaxation.
The bed was cozy. The television was set and ready for Netflix. There was plenty of room to spread out.
The staff was on top of everything. They were friendly. All of them. They quickly answered question and got things done.
We went to the main kitchen once. It was clean and set up with everything you might need.
I wish I had booked more days.
They are giving this place away (oops)...I shouldn't say that.
It is well worth the price.

Weeks after my trip, I still think about the Barn and miss it dearly - such a beautiful, unique, and welcoming hostel. There are no lockers or locks on doors which was the only downside. The rooms were so clean and modern. For the price, it’s superb. The staff have been amazing, especially Undīne who went above and beyond to make me and other guests feel comfortable. The location is difficult to access if you don’t drive but worth the trip. It’s a 10 minute drive to Vík and the beach. A must-see if you’re in the area!

Loved this hostel for the amenities including a bar downstairs and a big shared kitchen. Sinks outside of the shower rooms were a thoughtful touch. I wasn’t able to have a super warm shower at night here but it was doable. Maybe too many people using the water?. There’s some wear and tear happening aesthetically but the beds are warm, rooms are clean and the location is ideal - near black sand beach and a short drive to Vik.

We stayed in 8-beds shared room and really enjoyed how the space is organized there so that it's possible not to disturb your neighbors.
Big fully equipped kitchen with all necessary stuff.
Comfortable lounge zone.
Clean bathrooms and showers. Despite the hotel being fully booked I haven't seen the queues there

So many different room options for different prices , rooms with private bathroom and also rooms with shared bathroom as a cheaper choice. Large kitchen fully equipped , very comfortable and clean space . Just 3 minutes from Reynisfjara beach .

Friendly staff, clean common and kitchen areas as well as nice rooms. Even the other guests were friendly. 10/10 stay :)

This hotel is exceptional, especially for the price! Location is stunning, with breathtaking views right from our room window! The shower was a strange configuration, and made the entire bathroom floor wet, but didn't bother us since we only stayed one night. There is a full service bar and self-service kitchen available to guests. Super close to Vik, perfect if you have an early tour leaving from the town.

Modern Hotel / hostel near Vik, we had booked a private room. The room was big and well equipped, comfy beds and had a big wc.

The Barn was the nicest hostel I’ve ever stayed in! Felt luxurious but still with a community vibe. The bar had tasty drinks and a stylish area to hang out in. Beds were comfortable, everything was clean including showers and bathrooms. Great experience!!

I stayed here for 2 nights in the dorm room. The hostel itself is modern, clean, quiet and warm, which is just what I needed after being out in the cold all day. The Barn is located a very short drive from Vik, so a great location if you are travelling across the south of the island.

The dorm and others guests were quiet. The bed was really comfy with a curtain for privacy and darkness and had a single plug socket in each bunk. The shared kitchen was really useful with utensils and appliances. The bathrooms and showers were clean and again had good privacy. There is also lots of parking if you are on a self drive trip like myself. There was a lovely friendly dog relaxing in the lobby both evenings. The hostel is located on a very dark road with a small turn in, would be a great location for stargazing. A little hard to spot when it is foggy or snowy but not an issue. Would stay here again.

We fell in love with this beautiful, modern hostel so much that we extended our stay. Rooms were slightly small for everyone's luggage. It was also a little toasty in there. We had to open the window because it steamed up by morning. Beds were comfy and loved that they had a curtain. Staff were friendly, the dog was a bonus! Loved the individual washroom rooms and shower rooms. Kitchen cooking area had lots of stovetops. Not much space for food storage though. Close to Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach.

They were doing renos on a new addition when we were there in summer 2022. It would be lovely if there was a restaurant/more food options in the hostel.

Absolute loved this place! Beautiful, modern and up to date. The rooms were small but beds were comfy and rooms were clean.. Beautiful shared bathrooms and shared kitchen. Bar and lobby were wonderful to hangout at. Great place to also spot the northern lights. Would definitely stay again!!!

We chose to sleep in a dorm as it was very cheap to do so.
Guests were mindful and quiet in the room. Double bed were very comfy, you have some space for your stuff. Shared bathrooms were clean. The kitchen had everything you need to cook and you have a beautiful view from there.
They have a laundry service, you leave it at reception and got it back in the morning. Quick and easy.
You have chances to see the Northern light :)

The Hostel is very nice and friendly place! Has everything that you can need there. Clean and has a good location. The staff is super friendly. There is kitchen with available free coffee. Also, nice bar with drinks and snacks
