Great camp site for our van for 1 night last week! Bathrooms were heated with several stalls, and the indoor table area was also really nice and spacious (with lots of windows). We didn’t use the showers so we can’t comment. We paid the following morning as we arrived late the evening before. We’d gladly come back!

Loved this camping site! For the beautiful views, the small hills for the kids to play on, the open and spacious dining facility, the fresh & clean bathrooms, the playground that even had a little black sand pit. It was a well-kept facility that included all one needs as a camper. Although crowded it still felt like we had our own space and it was in a great location. Close to shops and a grocery store.

One of the best campsites for us. Showers and toilets were cleaned continuously by the staff. The showers (4 showers for women, the same for men) were shared, which means no curtains or doors separating the people showering. But even when I don’t exactly like that (no way I go naked in front of other people), they were big and spacious enough to have a good shower. I really like them. You also pay the showers per 5 minutes of use. More time, pay more.
As for the campsite, big! Bottom line: really like the place. One of the bests!

We absolutely loved this campsite! From all of the campsites we stayed at in Iceland this was by far the most convenient and clean. I was so impressed by how clean the common areas were kept by staff. The campsite check in was very easy and friendly, we didn’t use the kitchen area but it looked great. There is also wonderful coffee shop directly behind the site for those chilly mornings!

We had a fantastic experience at this location one of the best we stayed at on our trip. The bathroom was very clean and the common room area was well maintained and had a lovely atmosphere.
It’s a big campsite and the staff are very helpful. You can wash and dry clothes for 500k a piece and their are well maintained showers. The location is great and their are shops and restaurants near by to pick up food. We would recommend this campsite.

Very clean toilets & showers. Showers are extra & one open area. This was a little odd for me at the beginning of our trip but is common in Iceland & I quickly became used to it. Great location, can walk into Vik easily for groceries or dinner.

Lovely and clean camping site. Nice location with a view of the church. The toilets and bath was clean and warm. A common place to clean the dishes is present with shared kitchen. 2 washing machine and 2 dryers are present which costs 500 ISK each.

The best campsite we’ve been at so far. Mid September, not too busy, extremely clean facilities, very friendly owners. The common room has a microwave, kettle, great amenities. We’re so happy we got to stop here for two nights :)

Lots of space for every type of vehicle and the tent area is behind a small hill to protect from the wind, but it is not enough. The wind in the end of July 2023 were really strong. The dining facility has everything, sinks, soap, sponges, water boilers, stoves and a good view. Unfortunately it is not open 24/7 and the reception woman started cleaning and made everyone leave, it would have been great if it was always open.
The bathroom are wide and the water is real hot.
Prices are average.

Spent one night here in our camper. We had winds overnight of 20m/s. It was a little scary. We arrived early and got a pitch but it filled up really quickly. A couple of eating houses over the road. We went for Black Crust Pizza. Toilets were very clean and modern. The best we’ve used so far. A great stop for a camper. Grey water and tank full up as well.

The best camping we found in the south, the area is covered with green grass with a nice view over the mountains and a close proximity of Kronan supermarket and some nice restaurants. We spent there two nights, it was a good base to see all of the south.

There’s a common kitchen area when you can get hot water, cook with your own gear and wash it, the bathrooms are clean and nice and so are the showers. 5 min of a shower is 300 ISK and you get the coins for it at the reception. The place is managed by lovely Spanish people and you can order some wifi and electricity at the reception between 7 am and 10 pm. Same with showers so if you want a shower make sure to make it to the campsite between those hours.

No crowd in September, plenty of space to choose from. Hope to be back some day! ☺

Great campsite! The common room is large- it has many tables/chairs, hot water kettles, and 3 sinks for dishes. The bathrooms are spacious and clean. Common room and showers close around 10pm but reopen around 7am. Plenty of space for campervans. Showers are paid and do not have dividers/separate stalls.

Good camping for both campers/vans and tents. We arrived at night and payed at our site with the employee that walks around and collects payments. Hot showers (not so many though), toilets and a indoor kitchen / eating room.

Amazing location right next to Bonus shop, and close to Black Sand beach, with great views and cliffs in the background. Kitchen and dining are are fairly big and comfortable. There are several cooking hobs, and sinks to wash the dishes. Microwave and kettles are also available. We did not get to use showers, but toilets and sinks were very clean and not a long wait. Price was acceptable. We did not use electricity. Washing machine was included however you need to book as it gets busy.

Nice place, common room clean and warm welcoming, toilets and showers extra clean. Showers 300 ISK for 5min is nice (nobody stay too long in the showers). You can charge your device in common room.
The receptionist is really kind and keep the place really clean.

Our first camp site here in Iceland from the US. It actually set the bar high and has been what my daughter and I have been comparing the other sites we have stayed at to. The reception gal was very polite and patient with me. The sites we many and easy access. The shower rooms were very clean, modern and had good hot showers. The toilet area was also very clean. Wish all the other camp sites were like Vik.

One of the best campsites we have been so far. VERY clean, they clean several times a day. I don’t know why someone said the kitchen is not open, of course it is and it is huge! There are 4 cooktops and a lot of seating space. There are also the cleanest and hottest showers (300 extra) and 2 washing machines and dryers. Also, there is a speciality coffee school bus just next to it, you can sit in there and enjoy the best coffees and hot chocolates. Thanks for making everything so comfortable for us!♥

So far the best camp I was during last 6 days in Iceland (end of June 2023; spent 2 night in the camp).

I was under impression of all the bad reviews and wanted to skip it. But decided to stay in this camp. And it was a great decision. The area is very calm and facilities are new.

Toilet 5/5: renovated and clean, enough cabins for men.

Shower 5/5: renovated and clean, showers are separate for men and women. There are 4 showers for men in one common room. You need to pay extra 300isk for 5 min, but so far I was paying for all showers (even higher price for worse showers). There is hot water in the shower.

Kitchen 5/5: there is big kitchen are with around 7 tables and 3 sinks. You can cook there but you would need your own stuff which works with induction. There are 2 electric kettles. I was able to charge my camera and phone there without a problem. So far all the camps I visited didn't have kitchen, so appreciate this option very much!

Washing machine/dryer 5/5: I didn't use washing machine or dryer, but used drying hang (it was free of charge) - so evaluating the possibility to dry your stuff there. You cannot use dryer with dirty stuff (wash it before drying, which makes sense). There is also a sink if you need to wash anything with hands. All in one room, but this room is closed at night.

Tent ground 5/5: very nice area separated from the parking (you cannot park right near your tent, but the parking is few meters away, depending on where you park). Very soft and smooth ground for putting a tent.

Stuff 5/5: it was very friendly and helpful. They were running around and helping people and cleaning it in a timely manner.

Surroundings 5/5: there is a black sand beach reachable by car in 10min (there is one which should be reachable by walking). There is a chapel on the hill, where there are also horses nearby. Also little above the chapel in the evening you can see beautiful sunset if you're lucky (also met horses there). Nearby the camo there is grocery store.

Overall 5 of 5 (for surprising high quality of the camp I would add one more star and evaluate it rather 6 of 5)

One of my favorite campgrounds in Iceland. The staff was helpful, though there were definitely not enough electrical hook-ups for the number of people there. The bathrooms and other facilities were clean and well maintained. This campground is very centrally located in downtown Vik, with several restaurants and activities a short walk away.
