Hvoll Cottages

Small, clean cottages in a good location for exploring Vik area & Skogar. Staff was very kind. We thought we were getting a bunk bed for our children, but those have now been changed to sofa beds. However the sofa bed was very comfortable & it was nice having a sofa during the day. We loved the dogs - in fact- the young one found & retrieved my husband’s sunglasses that he didn’t even realize he had dropped & brought them to us!! We were so grateful. My daughter & I enjoyed a horseback ride on the beach and the staff was very accommodating to reschedule it when our original time was extremely windy. Thanks for a great stay!

Really helpful and friendly hosts. We were on the way to the accommodation but with the terrible snow storm it was very hard to locate the place exactly. The host was very kind to drove his tractor to come lead us our way. There are 2 lovely dogs who wait outside your cabin to welcome us every morning too. Going to miss them very much! Hope they won’t be too cold in the snow🥶

I don't understand some of the low ratings for this wonderful accomodation.
Our cottage was just wonderful, clean and very comfortable.
There's a private black beach nearby, which was just stunning.
The stuff was super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend to stay there.

Perfect host in Iceland. Silent and comfortable environment. Grass and mountain around the little houses.

The Keeper? Or the Owner are super friendly and helpful. The registration has a beautiful Iceland bird guide poster.

House is clean and comfortable. Bed is also comfortable too. You can see a beautiful picture outside the bedroom windows.

Everything are well equipped in the house. Kitchen, toilet, hair dryer. Shower room is good, hot water is more than enough, very comfortable shower time.

The place is just magical.
It's amazingly wonderful.
The reception people were super friendly, price is reasonable if you are a group, parking space available.
great if you are looking for peacefulness.
Sea waves can be heard at the cottages outside.
Great open view of the sky and the surrounding areas.
The driving path is best to be taken slowly as there are many small bumps in it.
It's highly recommended to visit.
The place is cozy and warm.
Many kitchen tools are already there.
Near Vik if you need to buy something and get back.

Beautiful country cottages that's a short 20min drive from Vik beach and surrounding sights - we spotted many puffins in the evening on the beach! The cottage was well maintained, very comfortable for 4 people and well equipped with kitchenette, fridge, and a cute porch with BBQ grill. We loved our stay here, and wish we could have stayed longer! The host / front desk staff were gracious, friendly and offered great tips & advice for nearby sights.

Just had to write a review to let anyone considering these cabins to go for it! These cabins are so warm and cosy! We managed to fit in 3 adults and 3 kids very comfortably for 3 nights. Completely self sufficient which is fantastic with prices in Iceland for eating out. You can go to a local supermarket and make your own meals. Perfect place to get fresh air. Plenty to see and do with a private path to the beach, pony riding tours, glaciers and not too long a drive from the waterfalls and geysers. The owners are very pleasant and helpful. Running their own family farm next to cabins it’s a really great place to escape to! Ideal for families and couples and groups of friends.

We've had a very pleasant stay in Mid Hvoll, nice and clean cottage. Not too spacy but that's no prob at all, it has everything you need. Even saw northern lights though we've only stayed for one night!

Excellent location with easy access to major sites around Vik. Well equipped cabin. Looking forward to our next visit

Very cozy cottages and great location for half way stop from Reykjavik to the bit glacier. A little worn interior but all was working and the house dogs were so cute and our kids had a blast throwing sticks for them 😂

No TV.
So relaxation is guaranteed.
Close to the beach and nearby attractions.
Two energetic dogs to play fetch with, making everybody happy. Just dont Use stones - rocks

This is the most relaxing accomodation we found in Iceland! ... To hear the breaking of waves while falling asleep and to have breakfast outside with the amazing view to Dyrholaey was priceless. ... Not to forget the friendly host and his lovely dogs!
The cottages are well equiped and we've had everything we need for our six-nights-stay. The right place for everybody who loves the nature and animals.
... We are looking forward to come back to Mið-Hvoll.

This must be one of Iceland's best kept secrets. We spent three nights here...four adults. The cottage was surprisingly roomy. It was warm, cosy and clean. Just 3 kilometers off Route 1 close to Vik it looked out on Dyrholaey and the Glacier. Beautiful, peaceful atmosphere beside the daily activities of the farm and their friendly dogs. They had their own private walkway to the black sand beach. The waves could be heard from the cottage.
Fully equipped for self catering ...cooker, fridge and toaster...endless hot water...Wi-Fi.
Ideal for a family holiday,. away from the hustle and bustle but within easy reach of local sights. It had horse riding tours also.
It was very reasonably priced by Icelandic standards. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend it highly and will definitely return. A gem.

We stayed here for two night, unfortunately we didn’t see north light here 😅but it’s okay, the cottages are cute, we can cooked, chatted with friends and even cheers for our vacation :) the house is close to vik so no worries. But the heater was not hot enough in living room, other than this everything was great 👍🏻

Comfortable little cabin. A bit crowded for a family of 5 adults - we stayed for one night but comfortable and very cosy, especially after camping for 3 nights.
We would happily have stayed longer but they were booked up - lots of things to see nearby at Dyrholaey, Reynisfjara beach and the plane wreck.

Super comfy for two! Easily reachable by car via a small gravel road. They rent horses. its advertised as a 5 person chalet but 4pp is the comfortmax
