It was also super clean and quiet!
Multiple bathrooms were a plus!

Superb location for visiting the black sand beach, just a few kilometers away. Warm, spacious rooms. Two bathrooms, two showers; never had to wait for either. Host is warm and accommodating with directions and recommendations.

Kitchen has many tables and the usual equipment you'd expect for your use; just make sure to clean up after yourself! There appeared to be communal cereal, but we were directed to purchase breakfast in town, instead.

Beautiful home! We stayed one night when the house was fully booked and thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people in the commune kitchen, where we had free breakfast (tea, coffee, cereal, and biscuits with cheese). We had no issues whatsoever, it was truly a fantastic place to stay!

Very good guesthouse in south of Iceland close to the Vik and black sand beach Reynisfjara (most dangerous place on Earth). There are many Icelandic nature attractions around this guest house. Everything is tidy, clean, good WiFi, parking. The guest house has 5 rooms with excellent soundproofing. The kitchen has everything you need. Toilets and showers are comfortable, large and clean. Very clear and good communication with the owners, the guest house is very easy to find. Thanks for a great stay.

We were trying to get to Vik last night but Ring Road was closed at the mountain pass just west of the town. Our car rental place apparently put on less than adequate all-weather tires (when we asked for snow tires, and our bad for not confirming) and we were turned around 3.7mi away from our hotel as the snow/wind made for blizzard like conditions and the pass was unsafe. We frantically called guesthouses because it was almost 9pm, we couldn't see, and we were in the middle of nowhere. Fortunately, the sweet owners of this guesthouse (the Skammidalur family) answered and even though they were closed, they opened up and prepared a room for us. She was so sweet and brought us some pasta, canned tomatoes, and other canned items other travelers left behind so we could fashion a dinner since we hadn't eaten and couldn't go anywhere. The room was spotless, the bed was super comfortable and warm, and the shower/bathroom were perfect (with hot water!). There are five rooms in the house and we were in #4 which faces the road and is away from the kitchen (#5 is in the kitchen and may be loud if the house is full of guests). We listened as the wind howled outside all night and were SO thankful for the Skammidalur family for taking us in. THANK YOU!

Nice place to rest. Pleasant hosts.
We booked late in the afternoon, came late on the evening and everything was prepared. The best thing after long day was hot shower and nice cup of tea. Beds can be separated. Nice and soft. :-)
It's up on the hills and not so far from Vik town.
Definitely recommended. :-)

Clean, modern rooms and common spaces. Excellent WiFi, well equipped kitchen and very kind, welcoming host. It's not the least expensive you can find in the area, but still has an excellent price point.

It was a good stay, very clean room, close to black beach and vik.
Also it’s a good place to see northern lights by nights.
