Sólheimahjáleiga Guesthouse

We stayed for only one night, comfortable, clean, warm and cozy. It's in a very good location, near Vík and Myrdal, the beach, different amazing cascades... The guesthouse has a shared kitchen, big complete shared bathrooms and multiple shared toiletes. But you have a hairdryer and water inside your room for shaving teeth and getting ready. The only thing I maybe missed is a mini freezer, for the own food. In the morning, the buffet was spectacular, no words, just pictures. Last but not least, the staff was very nice. Thank you.

Beyond excellent- incredibly clean, warm and inviting. The staff are so friendly and kind. The rooms are of very high standard and immaculate too.

Beautiful farm guesthouse. Very nice staff, clean rooms and all equipped kitchen. Breakfast was very good too.

The sweetest place and my favourite that I stayed at while I was on my solo trip to Iceland. Close to Vik and around the corner is options for atv tours (which I also recommend) .. very clean, great complimentary breakfast, the farm and animals are a bonus too. I will definitely be staying here when I return for another trip :)

We stayed at the 2nd floor 4-people room with private bathroom, the room is pretty large. The black out curtain covers all window which is very important for me to sleep during Iceland’s summer. The dinner was delicious and we loved all dishes we ordered.

The best accommodation in Iceland! It's in between Skógafoss and Reynisfjara Black Beach, not far from Vik. The check-in/out is easy. The house is beautiful inside. Spacious room, beautiful, fully equipped kitchen, clean, well maintained toilet and shower. The breakfast is exceptional! We will stay here again next time we are in Iceland.

Free parking lot. Good wifi. Very quite and beautiful location. The room was clean and warm with everything that needed. Staff were friendly. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Slept like a baby .

This was a beautiful guesthouse. We stayed in a family room in the old farm that was perfect for us and 3 small kids. All staff we encountered were lovely. The breakfast was great, highly recommend. Will always remember this place though as where we got to see the aurora, the farm made a nice backdrop too!

Wonderful staff! I traveled with a small group travel company called Good Travel. It was a spacious farmhouse with modest room and awesome decor. It was great walking the grounds and watching the animals on the farm. The food was delicious!! Literally table to farm meal! Exquisite service! Just lovely!

Th location was only 15 mins drive from Vik. The family room was so nice and convenient. There was shared kitchen for cooking and even refrigerator for your food. They also provide dinner choices in their restaurant. It's really impressive stay for our family.

😃 · We enjoyed our stay at Sólheimahjáleiga Guesthouse. The breakfast was delicious, the room was clean and big enough for us and our luggage. The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels were provided each day. Towels, linen and a 2-in-1 shampoo and body wash were provided. You could adjust the room and washroom heating to a temperature you desired.

🙁 · Needed some more hooks in the room. The fee to do your laundry was higher than we paid in other hotels/ guesthouses in Iceland $35 instead of the usual $20-30. But they did the laundry right away at night when we arrived and gave it to us the next morning.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. It's a working sheep farm as well as a guest house. Food was really good and breakfast is included with the cost of the room. Rooms are standard European size (aka small to Americans) but there is the option to get a room with your own bathroom. Common area was comfy and clean. I really enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.

Cozy, lovely location and staff! There's a nice sitting area, with a sink, microwave, fridge, plates etc if you bring some of your own food. They also have a nice restaurant.

We had a lovely stay in this family run farm guesthouse. Everything was clean and the hosts were lovely (as the three enthusiastic dogs). Breakfast was delicious - wide variety of high quality savory and sweet options. Would love to stay there again.

Lovely place to stay close to Vik and directly off Highway 1. Terrific location and athmosphere. When we arrived the family dog greeted us and the friendly owners made check-in possible in less than a minute.

Rooms offer fair cost-benefit ratio and a large (in-room) bathroom. You can also expect a shared kitchen/living-room area with a TV, games and a lot of information material. Great place to chat and meet other travellers.

Breakfast buffet offered more than expected but breakfast time was a little bit short 08:00-09:30 so the room was a bit overcrowded and staff was pretty busy to refill and clean. Maybe this should be extended to take some pressure off.

Still the best experience we had with lodging during our 2 weeks holiday in Iceland. 5 - Stars

Lots of animals, nice areas and rooms, and a very tasty breakfast.

Nice, clean room. Included breakfast with lots of variety. Can make a reservation for dinner between 7pm and 9pm with a limited but delicious menu.

Lovely farm with new installations. The breakfast was awesome! The owner was really kind. The bathrooms were really clean. It is very close to the abandoned airplane. I would say the best guesthouse in which I have been in Iceland.
