Well-renovated Icelandic house with a cozy atmosphere and attention to detail. The pleasant wall colors and great light in the room create a welcoming ambiance. The window offers a lovely view, and the simple, light breakfast, personally served by the owner, adds a personal touch.

The minimal light pollution makes it an excellent spot for catching the Northern Lights when conditions align. Unfortunately, our late arrival limited our time here, as I would loved to fully immerse myself in the experience.

We couldn't locate shower towels in the room but later found small towels in the bathroom, so we made use of them. We weren't sure if this was acceptable, but it was too late to disturb the owners.

One downside was the poor soundproofing; you could hear every step in the house.

One of the best guesthouses I stayed in the past 10 days!! It started with a welcoming check in, continued with a comfortable room and the cleanest bathroom (you couldn't even tell I shared them with 5 guests) and ended with a rich breakfast. Berglind is the house owner, she had good recommendations and lots of knowledge and stories about the area.
I booked 1 night and had such an amazing time so I extended the stay!!

The host Sauðafell Guesthouse took us in after we got rescued from a snowbank for that night after 10pm. We were provided immediate shelter with affordable lamb stew, along with complimentary tea, and pastries.

I want to stress that our kind host set up a full spread of breakfast including various jams, pates, and nutella with various breads including one loaf of homemade dark bread-- included in the cost of the accommodation!

All of the appliances are top notch, and the host and her husband were amicable and understanding of our situation. We are grateful we found this place as a silver lining to our misfortune.

Charming B&B on an historic farmstead. Wonderful host, very clean, comfortable accommodations, use of kitchen, sufficient breakfast provided. Although remote there is a town 15 minutes drive for food and gas. Our family of 8 stayed on the second floor and had a bathroom to ourselves; although it is possible you might share the bathroom if your group is smaller and there are other guests staying.

Absolutely amazing stay!! The guesthouse is beautiful and full of so many great things to look at! We loved having the baby lambs and mama sheep so close to our windows! The kitchen is beautiful and very functional for extended stays. We were only there one night and hope to come back and stay multiple nights. Finding the location was easy and the views were gorgeous (mountains, farms, sheep, and so much open space)!

Berglind and Finnbogi joined us for their deliciously homemade breakfast and shared stories of their history and the area. So friendly and charming!!!

The shared bathroom on the first floor was clean with all of the products (shampoo/soap/etc.) and always had warm water with good pressure. There was so much space for relaxing and even to have a group dinner in the kitchen. Plus a private library of very interesting books to read!

It really was a nice, quiet, and comfortable stay.

This guest house sits on a hill top with very nice view. The two story guest house offers five or six guest rooms with one bathroom on each floor. Although we had to share the bathroom with other guests, the bathroom was kept very dry and clean. The house decor is homey and comfy. The kitchen is equipped with cooking essentials and dinnerware. The breakfast was included. It’s simple but had everything we need: bread, broiled eggs, milk and coffee, fruit, cereal. The owners have a very friendly dog who likes to play and been petted.

We loved this place! This is an amazingly restored or maintained farmhouse from the turn of the century. The place has roughly 5 rooms in which they allow guests to stay. We stayed in room 2, but there was no one there so I have pictures of all of the rooms except a bathroom that was locked.

This place has a kitchen, fridge, oven, and everything you'd find in a normal kitchen available for use. Bathroom facilities were nice and kept up, they also had shampoo and soap. The common area was amazingly furnished with seating for quite a few, including multiple tables if needed.

The place has history and watching the sheep 🐑 was pretty funny. We traveled in May 2021 so this is the month that sheep farmers are supporting the birth of all of their lambs. The owners are sheep farmers and own lost of the land between the two rivers and have over 300 sheep + lambs so it provided for an entertaining night of photo opportunities.

The owners were nice and they definitely enjoyed meeting with guests so we learned a lot about their trade and details about their farm. This place was a bit more expensive than others but would say it's worth it compared to other places we stayed and will be going back on our next trip.

A wonderfully warm and cozy guesthouse to stay at. Situated on a farm, the host was very friendly and welcoming. Clearly a popular place as there were quite a few other people there. The rooms were charming and had a great view from our windows of the farm and area. Breakfast was delicious in a spacious kitchen with good conversation with the host and other guests. Highly recommended if you want a memorable place to stay if you pass by.

Very clean and comfortable accommodation. The owners had a nice breakfast for us each morning and visited with the guests. The kitchen was equipped with all the essentials to prepare a good dinner. Great spot for viewing the northern lights.

The extreme cleanness of the place and the special light and warmth inside the house in the afternoon (when sunny) makes it a very pleasant place. The kitchen is very cozy with one of these big tables inviting to chat while having breakfast with other guests. We are happy we spent two nights there, we really enjoyed the stay!

I loved staying here — I felt like the movie The Holiday. The place was so warm and cozy. She dried my clothes, made breakfast, helped map some locations for the drive the next day. Highly recommend this guesthouse.

Amazing! The Berglinds absolutely understand hospitality. They are friendly, help in any way they can, and serve an amazing breakfast.

And, on top of it all is the house itself. In the family for generation and renovated with care an utmost detail.

It has been a truly amazing encounter, one which I will cherish as a fond reminder of Icelanders and their amazing surroundings!
