Hraunsnef Country Hotel

We had dinner there, the food was really good. We really enjoyed it. Only the kids chicken nuggets willl not recommend, as they were those you get from the grocery. Service was also very good.

Beautifully located, great food, friendly staff and a very country like environment. We loved meeting the happy free roaming rooster and enjoyed the outdoor hot tubs. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Really nice small hotel with delicious food and hot tubs. Rooms are clean, in bathroom you get bathrobes and slippers for hot tubs which are behind the hotel with view of small stream on one side and animals on the others. You can use it whenever you like. Staff is really nice and food is soooo delicious! Breakfast with good choice for everyone. Dinner is a bit expensive but the best lamb I ate and we have tried it in different places. We did not want to stay in big chain hotels so this was perfect. There is volcano crater near by to visit. Definatelly recommend.

Beautiful and comfortable hotel. Rooms are stylish, clean and well-maintained, breakfast is delicious, staff is friendly. Restaurant at the site but didn't try it. So far my favourite stay in Iceland. Oh and the cows are friendly and super cute. Rooster alarm provided.

Amazing and beautiful hotel as part of a little farm nestled in the wilderness of Iceland.
The service was amazing as the staff was super helpful and showed us around the estate.
Moreover, the food, both dinner and breakfast, that the team at Hraunsnef served was excellent and a real delight.
Little secret: There is an amazing hike starting right behind the hotel going all the way up to the mountain top, which overlooks the hotel and the whole valley.

Lovely experience here. The place feels homey and welcoming. The staff is great, and the private hiking trail on the farm is beautiful. The hot tubs are great too, and the food is some of the best we've had in Iceland. Highly recommend!

Go here! This is a family-run business with very high comfort and care put into everything. So far the best place I've stayed at in Iceland.

You can tell they pay attention and want their guests to feel welcome and comfortable. The room has a mini fridge that's empty! It's there especially for you to store what you have! They give you little candles to light up so you can have a romantic evening. There is a binder in the room with lots of useful and fun information on what to do.

This is a farm, so it will smell like a farm, be prepared for that. On the upside you can go and pet the animals as they are very friendly and chill.

The restaurant is also fantastic! The meat is locally source so take a guess what that means, and it's delicious. I couldn't recommend this place enough.

On top, there are also two open -ai jacuzzis and a 4hour marked hiking trail into the mountains starting from the hotel.

This is an amazing place, will have to come here again!

The best hotel we stayed at over our 9 day trip across the country. The pictures dont do this hotel justice, it is simply fabulous. The rooms are compact but comfortable, the beds great. They even provided robes and flip flops for the hot tub! We caught an amazing show of the northern lights from a private hot tub. To top it off the restaurant is using meat from their farm and the chef wonderful. Highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to come back.

Good meal, and a lovely location. We found while traveling the more widespread areas of Iceland that you rely on hotel restaurants when you need to stop for meals. This was a good one.

As a plus, the person who served us (from Poland, dark hair, arm tattoos - I do not know their name) was extremely nice!
I was not the easiest customer but the service was great.

A little bit outside Reykjavik but so worth it. The staff and owners were just the sweetest people. They have a farm so the meat is VERY local. Hot tub, coffee machine, robes, the works. Honestly so much love was put into making us feel super welcomed and comfy. Wish we spent more time there.

they let me use the toilet for free despite not being a guest of the hotel/restaurant! workers seemed very nice and friendly, i’m sure the food tastes great too!

Outstanding facilities, delicious food, very friendly hosts, great place to take a breath and warm your bones up when you’re hitting ring road.

Lovely decor and very memorable lunch; I highly recommend this place to everyone, the mushroom soup was very tasty and refreshing, the lamb burger was juicy and hit the spot!

Difficult to find a single fault with our stay here in May 2022. Comfortable rooms and nice shower. Wonderful outdoor hot tub overlooking the beautiful scenery. Helpful staff and a tasty menu for both dinner and breakfast. A great rest and some long drives and hikes.

We sat in the outdoor seating (which was still covered and was warm enough) and saw some calves and sheep grazing. If you step out the door you'll also get to see the duck pond. Great vibe! We stopped for some coffee and liked the view and vibe so much that we stayed for a bit longer and walked around the property

This place is a must stay!!! This has been our only stay 100% worth the price. The rooms are the biggest we have stayed in Iceland, you get a pretty bug bathroom as well. There is a fire pit, hot tubs, and animals. They staff is extremely friendly and nice. The food here was absolutely delicious as well, and the steaks are from the farm! I definitely recommend this place.

Great hotel! My room was very cosy and beautifully renovated. It included both a hair dryer and a straightener! I actually had one of the best night’s sleep here!

Dinner was ok, breakfast was great.

Staff were young but all lovely and friendly.

The only things I didn’t like:

- door was difficult to lock. I couldn’t actually lock it from the inside so had to sleep with the chair pushed against the door

- there was no opportunity for natural light and privacy. If I wanted privacy I need to close my blockout curtains.

we just stopped by to have lunch here and it was FANTASTIC. very good food, friendly staff and amazing atmosphere. highly recommended.

Comfortable bed - the most comfortable out of all our stays in Iceland. Small cozy room with very nice bathroom. We liked visiting the farm animals. Restaurant was great, farm to table.
