Hólanes Restaurant & Bar

My husband and I stopped in for dinner and drinks a few nights ago during our journey around the ring road. Everything we ordered was great! I got the char with sweet potatoes and he had fish and chips. The seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly. The service was friendly as well!

Felt at home under the care of friendly staff managing the establishment. Need I mention, cleanliness was top notch. By far the cleanest F&B establishment I have visited during my stay in this beautiful country.

An amazing restaurant and bar with great service. We ordered the BBQ rib and they were really tasty and full of meat. They also had a local band playing.

We're the British bikers who arrived yesterday for pizza...delicious! Came back in the evening for beer and fish and chips. All excellent. Such a great family. Huge welcome. Recommend this place for hospitality and good value.

After a long day exploring this part of Iceland this place was great to relax and enjoy some good food, beer. We also played quite some pool and darts before returning to our guesthouse. Very kind and helpful people who helped us with our trip as well.

We came here for dinner staying at the guesthouse nearby. The other option was Harbour bar and we opted for Holanes because they had a more diverse menu.

The staff here is wonderful. This seems to be a community bar/restaurant as there were friendly locals, a pool table, and possibly karaoke options. The bartender/owner Johannes was very friendly and helpful. He recommended Viking as a nice local beer for my father.

The menu included pizza, fish, soups. We had the halibut fish of the day, grilled artic char, and a pizza. Everyone was pleased. As it was Fathers Day my dad celebrated with a slice of cheese cake. The waiter was very attentive and checked on us often. We may have intimidated them with our menu questions in English, but Johannes was more than happy to explain, check with the chef, and give recommendations.

I highly recommend coming to eat here if you find yourself in the area.

Fantastic restaurant - a true gem in Iceland. Would highly recommend anyone driving by to stop in for some fantastic seafood and the friendliest staff around. If I could give more than 4 stars I absolutely would!

The nicest, most helpful people in the area. Such a unique fun bar and restaurant. Definitely recommend getting off the ring road and stopping here for a bite to eat and a beer to drink, you won’t be disappointed!
