Mr Jose was a really good friend for us. His guesthouse is comfortable, beautiful, clean and has amazing views. We had an incredible time there with them. Thanks again, Jose, you are awesome!

We had a good fortune of meeting the lovely owner Ms. Lisa of this hotel who offered us complimentary coffees while we were completely tired and showed immense kindness to us strangers in time of need. Hospitality of this measure only confirms how good the hotel guests are treated. Really want to thank you Ms. Lisa from all of us.

After a long drive, we found this hotel to stay for a night, we didn't make reservations but luckily they had a room for us. Clean and reasonable price. The owner was friendly and welcome.

The rooms are a bit small, but good. Free coffee and tea in the lobby. This is the place to stay if you like horse riding. Very good breakfast. Friendly dogs who are trying to look indifferent but are very happy to be petted.

Great solo room. Good breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Quiet spot off main road and 5 minutes drive from Hvammstangi which has lots of amenities.

Absolutely amazing place! The rooms are very clean and comfortable and are individually decorated, very lovely.
The food is delicious and the dining tables have a great view on the area (and the pretty horses especially).
It felt really like home at Gauksmyri, thanks to all the friendly people and animals there!

Amazing location, lovely atmosphere, and cute animals everywhere!! Like someone else already mentioned, close enough to the town but isolated enough to avoid the crowd. We could watch the Northern light with their cat(a cute guide for us!) just in the front yard cuz the staff kindly turned off the lights to minimize the light pollution. Later we furthered on the exploration (there was an accessible road by car through there horse ranch) and watched the northern lights with the horses! Unforgettable experience. Thank you! (+ great breakfast)

Stopped here for their dinner buffet on our road trip. By Icelandic standards, it was an impressive selection, particularly for a rural area. Tasty salads and vegetables. The meats were good, including the horse.

Really nice guest house with a spacious living room. The breakfast had a large offer and was really good. They have a stable with more than a hundred icelandic horses, so it' possible to ride them for 7.900 ISK, really a great experience. They also run some shows with horses in front of the dining room. Wi-fi was extremely bad, didn't work at all in the room, it worked only in the hall.

The breakfast room is make by glass so you can see everything is outside expecially during the sunrise!!! All red and rose'!! Fully recommended!!!! Thanks Gauksmyri

Located just east of Hvammstangi. The lodge is warm and welcoming. As are the people working there. By this time, in my travels, I was so happy to have a large bed for my stay. I think the owners of the lodge, also own the Sjavaborg restaurant in Hvammstangi. As of April 2019, if you show them your roomkey, you get 10% off dinner.

In the morning, if you ask, you can take a "tour" of the horse stable . By tour, I mean, there are employees working in the stable and they will let you in, to walk around on your own and look at the horses. Some horses will walk up to the gate of their stall, some won't. Sometimes there are two in a stall and they will just stand still and stare at you. If you are lucky, there may be guests who have booked the opportunity to ride some of the horses and tou may have the opportunity to listen to the instructions given to them.

And IF you are even more lucky, the stable dog will be around

Very nice little B&B. My room was pretty small but everything was clean and cozy and the girl working there when I checked in was extremely nice. Good breakfast in the morning and close to lots of places to explore!

Beautiful place to stay at the end of the world. We said our three year old sleeps between us and they put this cute child's blanket in the middle of the bed. She loved it.

Gauksmyri Lodge is one of the most comfortable places that I have stayed in Iceland. The staff are always friendly and the breakfast is good. The rooms are large and welcoming, with a wonderful view over the farmstead. There is not much else in the area apart from Hvitserkur so it's a nice halfway point to stop if you are going from Reykjavik to the north.

Cute little B&B. The have a farm with chicken and horses and the sweetest Icelandic Sheepdog. The owner I meet was really kind and helpful.

We stayed for just one night but had a great time at this farm. The staff was very helpful and getting to hang out with the horses was fun.

Seriously the most friendly and welcoming staff. Very clean place. The sweet potato soup on the buffet is delicious.
