This campsite is wonderful. It's a work in progress as it has new owners but they also own the hotel and are extremely helpful, kind and accommodating. Make sure to go into the hotel to pay for camping - it can look closed otherwise.
It was raining violently and they invited us in to stay for a drink and dinner (which was delicious by the way).
The camp ground itself is basic with only one toilet and a sink but the incredible surroundings and kindness of the hosts more than make up for this.
There's also the hot pool which I hope to try before leaving!
I would absolutely have stayed here even without the great hospitality because it's just so beautiful. You can park up and look out on a waterfall.
If also highly recommend staying at the hotel as the decor is very stylish, food is great and owners are brilliant.

Gorgeous location. Been authentic nature hot pot, then a proper Icelandic Sundlaug swimming pool, hot pot, shower complex.
Camping is pretty primitive, No kitchen, the shower pool complex is great. Restaurant and hotel are lovely too.

I'm staying here right now and it's amazing. Camp-site is close to the hotel and you can access showers, a heated pool and hot tub for €7.5. The hotel has no problem serving you dinner and drinks if you're camping, prices are also not too excessive. Camp-site is €13 euro each.

This campsite was pretty magical. It was a little more on the “rustic” side with only a couple outdoor kitchen sinks, no showers and a few bathrooms, but everything was well maintained. The best part was the hot pot with the views and stone changing room. This is why we came to a Iceland. There were only 2 other vehicles camping there with us. Felt we had the place to ourselves.

Excellent camp ground with great views. Single toilet. Not too much of an issue when you're in such a great location.

Can't really understand all the super negative reviews here. I camped here two seperate nights in the same week, back in September. I wasn't charged anything for the showers, and I was even given a free warm towel. Breakfast buffet was free and there was lots of delicious food and coffee available. Staff were friendly and helpful. I met really cool fellow travellers out on the campsite and at the hot spring, too.

The hot pot near this campsite is awesome! I would recommend just staying here so you can take a dip. The campsite only had one toilet unlocked for use when we were here, but the person who maintained the campsite showed us a building about 100m away from the campsite that had warm showers and toilet. There is no space for cooking at this campsite. It is a very quite campsite, tucked away from any major cities. We got to see the northern lights from here so we really enjoyed the peacefulness!

Ignore the older reviews. The owners changed recently and they give their best to provide the best expericence. They showed us around the hotel, although we were staying at the campsite. They are working hard on improving the facilities. The campsite has a toilet and a dishwashing station. Showers can be used in the swimmingpool building.
The staff was very welcoming and did let us use the showers late at night and even stayed at the reception to serve us a midnight drink. The campsite/hotel is not on the main road, but the drive here is well worth it! Don‘t miss out on the natural hot tub right next to the site.

Checked with the hotel next door who confirmed we can park our camper for free during winter. One toilet open. Spent an incredible evening in the hot pool under the stars. The owners of the nearby hotel were incredibly nice. We used their hot tub and sauna in the morning and they also provided a delicious roast lamb lunch before we hit the road again. Highly recommended.

Clean toilets, place to wash up, lots of little areas to pitch your tent behind hedges giving privacy and wonderful views. Benches available and a free hot spring. Great place to camp.
