Parking for Bridge Between Continents

Nice spot which we visited as part of a bus tour to see the northern lights. Success! Small-ish car park,not sure how busy this gets during the day as we visited at night.

It is a nice spot to visit. It's something interesting there, with this bridge between the continents.

Came here with zero expectations, and I loved it. Is it cheesy? Sure. Is it crowded? No! Free parking, lots of space to explore. Honestly, while this lacks the cultural significance of Thingvellir, I enjoyed it more because of the lack of crowds.

Even though this place is magical, it does not beat being there with someone who can suggest great pictures taken and tell you about how it works and why Iceland is slowly but surely dividing. These are some of the pictures I took on of my recent trips there!

This is the bridge between the continents, where the Eurasian lithosphere plate meets the American plate. It looks like a lifeless desert: black sand around, volcanic rocks and a muffin-like swollen ground. Everything looks very atmospheric, I would say.

A lovely place to stop to take in the gap between two continental plates. It’s also great for sole ‘perspective’ photos of people holding up the bridge etc.

An interesting place where you can 'travel' between 'America & 'Europe' faster than Superman 🤣
Fun place to take creative pics if not for the strong cold winds blowing right at our faces 🥶

Great location to see the Northern Lights. We arrived to late to take photos at the bridge though.

Neues kurzes Ausflugsziel. Weg ist für befestigt. Kinderwagen geeignet. Mit kleinen Kindern gut zu erkunden. 30min. Einplanen. Man parkt fast vor dem Aussichtspunkt.
