Gorgeous views everywhere you turn! It goes without saying, if you have time, add it to your stops or to visit list! We had a great time hiking to the top of the waterfall and seeing for miles! The other perk of this stop, no one was there! Maybe a group of 3 people! But basically all to ourselves!!

Easy quick stop with a beautiful waterfall and the rocks surrounding it! Muddy and slippery when wet careful! Was able to do it in normal shoes though. About a 10-20 walk there. The stones and rock around the waterfall are beautiful!! You can walk the trail to the bottom of it or there are two trails on both sides to get to the top! There is the main parking lot and there’s a little off-road one a little further down which is a closer walk. Also if you drive down a little past this waterfall parking there is another beautiful waterfall that is a very small walk from where you park! Worth to see both. There was some lambs when your driving through too! The landscape is amazing in this area as well. Also a mountain that’s behind the waterfall that adds a nice touch to the waterfall itself. Take it all in. There was one on when I went! Very peaceful

One of my favorite falls in the National Park!

✨wheelchair accessible
✨gravel parking lot
✨ trail difficulty level: beginner

You can walk right up to the top and see the full falls.

Reminder to leave no trace ❤

Quiet waterfall just off from the road with free parking area. The path to it is clear and well maintained and a short, flat 10min walk to the falls. It’s mostly frozen and you can see holes in the ice where the water flows under. You can see footprints where people have walked on the ice but I wouldn’t recommend it as it’s unclear how thick the ice could be. Very worth a short detour for 15-30mins.

One of many waterfalls that you can stop and look at on your drive throughout the country of Iceland. I went in May 2023 to avoid the crowds in the green was just starting to peek out. If you decide to go in June, or July be prepared for crowds.

Secluded waterfall that is a ten-minute easy walk from the parking lot. They are still working on building out the final platform but it still looks beautiful to look at

Incredible waterfall with plenty of free parking.

Small but picturesque waterfall surrounded by several basalt columns. The parking lot is near the main 574 road (2 km detour on easy gravel road); from the parking lot it is possible to reach the waterfall following an easy path with two river crossing (just be careful and jump on the rocks).
It is possible also to reach the base of the waterfall but when I visited the waterfall the last few meters of the path were unpassable for a small landslide (june 2022). Alternatively it is possible to walk on the cliff behind the waterfall and see it from the top.

The view from the viewing platform is nice with a glacier showing just behind the waterfall. There’s a trail just before the viewing station (to the left if you are facing the viewing station) that brings up all the way to the waterfall. There are a few treacherous parts on the trail that I was afraid of falling if I misstepped, but overall a cool experience

It's a beautiful hike and place to visit. You do have to cross two rivers to reach the fall which may be difficult for less athletic individuals. But you can still see the beauty of the falls from the main trail.

I recommend to see this one during Snæfellsnes roadtrip. It’s just a quick walk from parking lot and a view’s pretty nice!

What I loved about this waterfall was that you can easily climb way up and that it was not crowded because people usually don't know about this place. Worth a visit! And the view from the top is great.

Absolutely beautiful! It’s a bit of a hike to get up there (at least by my couch potato standards) but so worth it. There were even some baby horses at the bottom that we cooed over a bit before we started climbing. The view from the top is gorgeous, and you can get close enough to the falls that you can sit beside it and dangle your legs! Definitely check this place out if it’s on your way.

This is a lovely waterfall with basalt columns.

There's an easy walk up to it from the parking area. Google sometimes makes a mistake and prompts people to review it's smaller sister, so you may see pictures of Svöðufoss on the smaller Kerlingarfoss map entry.

Beautiful, off route gem!!! They're currently 95% complete on making a solid route in from the car park to a viewing platform. Well worth a stop.

Well signposted from the main road. Access is along a 1.6km gravel track with ample parking at the end. To get to the waterfall itself it is necessary to walk across some rough moorland and hop over a small stream, but nothing too taxing. Although not the most amazing falls in Iceland they are certainly worth a visit and there are some nice examples of basalt columns too on the edge of the waterfall.

Great falls, it may be hard to get a photo without people, but if you're there in the summer, you can always go in the late evening or early morning like 5am. Love the Basalt rock formation. the road to the parking is a bit rough, but the new path is inspired. it winds you across the landscape with a stop 1/2 way with a brilliant wind block and benches. Visited mid July 2023

We got there by accident. No people in sight. Short hike through snowy field. Winter. Result? One of the most amazing waterfall views we've seen in Iceland.
