The 5 stars are for the surrounding area! It’s magnificent. I went in the winter and I was completely surrounded by beautiful snowy mountains that honestly outshined the waterfall itself. Pictures don’t do this place justice.
Ice crampons would be helpful in winter.

This had amazing views from the parking lot and the walk down to the waterfall it’s self!! I think people were confused how to actually get to the waterfall. I saw many people stop at the parking lot, get out and walk a little toward then leave. They where missing the best part! The waterfall!! If you get down to it as well you can walk behind it! Careful it is muddy and slippery when wet or just from the waterfall it’s self. From the parking lot I walked left over to the river. From there you should find some trails that follow the river down to the waterfall. Cross over to the left of the river to get down too it though, stay by the road tell your over the river then cut right to follow the trails! Or from the parking lot just go strait and forward and that should led you down. But my first instructions seemed easier to get down to it!! Amazing views, waterfall, and colors around here though, and the main attraction is the waterfall, don’t miss it, even better, go down to it and walk behind!!

Beautiful - we visited December 2023 and it was gorgeous. Very cold so wrap up but there is a place for 5/10 cars to park and then don’t be afraid to walk quite far down to see a massive waterfall, while surrounded by incredible mountains. Not many people knew it was there but it was so beautiful! It is free!

An often-missed sight, it's worth a short stop.
Free parking space on the side of the road. Small waterfall, a creek, and a short walk to the lake shore. Trout, beautiful view of the lake and the mountains in the distance.
The path can be slippery; take care of the vegetation.

Unfortunately the weather was so nasty and it rained heavily so we were wet at once we left a car…and saw not much. And no raincoats can save you..Just be prepared for that. Waterfall itself was nice but definitely not worth to visit under such bad rain conditions. As a little bonus - we saw a beautiful rainbow!

Worth the stop on your way up or down the mountain, just a small hike to see something spectacular. You can go behind the waterfall if you dare.

Easy three minute hike to something spectacular with not a lot of tourists. Definitely worth the stop + breathtaking views of this waterfall Iceland has to offer!

Lovely peacfull and relaxing place with amazing view as evereywhere in Iceland. If there is no wind the water give the impression of a mirror which is perfect for taking great pictures. There is an easy parking and if you go down on the left you will see a waterfall. You can go behind it but be carfull to bring your rain coat or you will get wet. Great views with the waterfall.

Really beautiful and not too much tourist traffic. Just walk out from the parking lot a little bit and you'll find it quickly. Warning, if you're visiting when its icey don't try to go behind the waterfall, its extremely slippery and potentially dangerous.

Lovely waterfall with amazing view to the valley. A must stop place during your Snaefelness tour. There is a small parking on top, and the wind was heavy when we were visiting, so make sure you wear warm clothes.

It's a really nice waterfall, if you are visiting the peninsula, it worth visiting it. It's about a 10 min walk , hidden near the path. It was an amazing experience standing behind the waterfall.

We came here mainly for the lava fields. But this hidden treasure was a great find. The best part is that there is a path that leads you close to the waterfall. Unfortunately, we had very little time and could not go too close to the waterfall.

If you go there, I think you should plan to spend at least 20-25 min to go closer to the waterfall and not just see it from a distance.

This is a beautiful waterfall, which you can walk behind. The waterfall is to the left of the car park. We got a bit confused and went straight, down the hill from the car park and then walked to the left, so we came at the waterfall from the very base which was spectacular too!

Gorgeous and feels unvisited! Has a nice trail beside it and you can go behind the waterfall. Short walk from the parking lot towards the water to get a good view but you can take a longer walk by the stream if you want. One of my favorite waterfalls in Iceland!

Don't just look from the car park. The real treasure is with a little walk down the hill

This was a great find. An easy hike to a really cool waterfall that we could walk behind. We had great timing and had this spot to ourselves for about 10 minutes.

Delicate three- level water fall, actually preferred this place over many other waterfalls we've seen.

Very worth spending 30 minutes or so to hike down. The path by the river can be muddy.

Beautiful waterfall which you can walk behind. Stunning views onto the lands below. Somewhat hidden from the parking lot.
