The best part of this garden is where Buddha statue facing the national museum is located. This spot is ideal to take photo shoots of the garden and the museum facing it

One of the nicest place even to vibe alone. People do come to spend their leisure time with their extended families. Can enjoy nature in a less noise polluted environment. As the Colombo National Museum is near, you can visit there too. There are instant hand drawn drawings sold along outside of the park. Buy them if interested.

The best service is provided in Kithulgala, which is the top water rafting, camping canyon and waterfallabseiling in Sri Lanka. Safe service. The best place to experience without fear with an experienced guide. The best place to recommend.

The perfect place to get a little break from the crowded and loud city around the park. Many options to sit down, in the shadow or in the sun.

Best peaceful place to relax in the busiest Colombo city. No entry fee is required to visit in the park but there are some paid contents available here and there. You can walk,Jog and cycling around this park on the allocated trail path. Morning and evening in this park covered with crowds. You can buy ice cream and food items inside. Best nature friendly place. The are few animals kept here to engage people to come here. I Appreciate the M.C to keep this place clean.

A wide park with a diverse range of plants and trees. There are even chipmunks, squirrels, ducks running around, and you can watch bats. We were approached by a man who pretended to be a former park gardener, I don't know if this is true, but we enjoyed everything he showed us - cinnamon trees, Buddha flower, bats, palm trees and everything. Asked for 10 dollars after that but it was worth it. There is also a children's playground on the territory of the park, it is noticeably worn, but interesting for children. It's unusual to have to take off your shoes in a playground like this.

Viharamahadevi Park is the largest and oldest public park in the center of Colombo. During my stay in the city, I visited several times. The busiest - and probably the best time to visit for a tourist - is the weekend. Residents of Colombo descend on the park en masse, especially if the weather isn't too hot. If you're into people watching and discovering how locals live and enjoy their free time, this is the place to be. Many young couples also visit. You often seen them trying to get as much privacy and intimacy as possible. There are a couple of artificial lakes where you can rent a boat. Horses - and even elephants - could occasionally be observed in the wooded areas. The park is very safe and is regularly monitored. Do not miss it!

Nice park, the flying foxes are cool to see. Worth a walk through when in the area.

Be careful of the ‘gardener’ he states he is just a gardener and has a general chat with you and shows you his ID, then he tells you some info about the trees in the park & then he shakes you down to be paid for the info he gave you.
Nice guy but I don’t like people giving you a ‘service’ without telling you they are and then trying to force you to pay them.

The park was built on land donated to the Colombo city by Charles Henry de Soysa during the British rule of Sri Lanka, and used to be named "Victoria Park" after Queen Victoria
The majestic Colombo National Museum borders the sprawling Viharamahadevi Park and its giant Buddha. These and other attractions of Colombo make up this orientation walk.

Like a breath of fresh air in the city, this park is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. There's so much space to sit, walk, run, lie down and just unwind with yourself, friends, kids or family. Open 24x7.

If you're a tourist in the city and have just 1-2 days on hand, skip it. If you have more days to spare, it may be a good place to relax and regain your energy in between sightseeing or to slow down after a meal.
